Penne Chorizo from Cha Cha Cha's- LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
2007-09-21 22:20:00
A few days ago, I had lunch with some of my co-workers at Cha Cha Cha's in Los Angeles. This restaurant can be described as sort of Islandy-Pseudo Carribean restaurant. It is very colorfully decorated in bright colors and the walls are adorned with religious images as well as island type knick knacks. In fact the interior of the restaurant looks like a shack or hut that you might find if you traveled to the Carribean. You get a really eclectic group of clientèle ranging from business people, to new age hippies, to tourists. It might be worth a visit to Cha Cha Cha's just for the atmosphere alone.I ordered during this visit the Penne Chorizo. This dish had penne pasta covered with a tomato and chorizo based sauce. The sauce was very spicy and I could detect that a strong paprika and curry taste to it. It was very delicious. My only complaint was that the chorizo meat in the sauce was not in chunks but was ground and had more like a mole' like consistency. I would have ...
Cha Cha Cha Dancing demonstration

I hate when people steal my moves without giving me credit. He dances almost like me but without quite my level of cat-like grace and I usually keep my shirt buttoned. The names of the dancers are Ekaterina Vaganova and Gabriele Goffredo. The name of the song is Tango Harlem by Touch and Go.

Buakaw on Cha Cha Cha.
2007-07-10 10:05:00
This is a fairly old clip, but it’s nice to see Buakaw in a different setting. This is his 2004 appearance on a Thai variety/game show called Cha Cha Cha. Damn do you think they could have put anymore make up on our boy? I don’t think I need to translate; it’s ...

Tonight this lucky li'l Kitty saw John Mayer live and in person. And while a Kitty was not close enough to tear away a piece of his clothing or cut some of his hair, knowing that he and John Mayer breathed the same breath was a reward in itself.Granted - watching him sing can be painful. The endless displays of his "O-Face" can truly distract one from the beauty of his music, but listening to him live and in person truly is a divine experience. So RockChalkChick, Bama and Kitty are driving back home, feeling that concert high. (And no, the high was not coming from the teenagers lighting up in front of us through the whole show.) Then we hear screeching tires, feel a bump, and RockChalkChick says - calmly, surprisingly! - "Fuck. We just got rear-ended."And not rear-ended in a good way.We pull over, get out of the car and see two adorable teenagers - Jordan and Courtney - also getting out of their car. Jordan's shirt reads "Fuck milk...Got pot?" and Courtney is looking at him like sh...

Um, Dois, Três, Cha Cha Cha …
2006-12-04 20:21:00

Tea (? or Cha) is an important part of some Asian cultures. To drink a cup of tea is not just to quench one's thirst but it could be a gesture of respect, gratitude or dare I say, love from one person to another. In these cultures, to know how to drink tea is considered a sign of good breeding and education. The leaves used to make tea are therefore of utmost importance; a significant body of knowledge on the subject exists beyond our generic té comun or green tea.My parents' everyday drink is a white tea made with Shou Mei (??) leaves while my grandmother prefers the perfumy daffodil (??) which also means "Water Fairy". My favourite is rose (yes, dried rose buds) or a lychee tea and my cousins love a pot chrysanthemum infusion any day.The Japanese Matcha (??) is now commonly used in cooking and baking beyond Japan while the use of Chinese teas in cooking, as demonstrated most elegantly by J at Kuidaore here, is still very much a hidden secret among the connoisseurs of Chinese cuis...
