This week Family Guy addressed the issue of prejudice towards transgendered people. The episode, titled "Quagmire's Dad," was centered around Quagmire's father who reveals to be a "woman trapped in a man's body" While there were some insensitive jokes and references in the show, the episode was presented very matter of factly. The character, even after transitioning, was not presented as a caricature of a stereotype.
