2008-10-27 15:12:00 October Is (Still) Book Month!I had to get reading glasses the other day; I get headaches at the end of the day and dry eyes and the doctor thought maybe it was from working on a computer, so I went out and bought myself two pairs of reading glasses, one for home and one for work, that I wear when I work on the computer.I like to think of it as a reading injury. I always remember that scene in "Jaws" when the guys on the boat compared their old injuries and scars and told stories about how they got them. I've never been athletic enough to have a sports injury, or at least not a cool sports injury. I do have bad knees from fencing when I was too fat to really fence well but since the injury came from being heavy, not from, say, being stabbed, I don't talk about it much. In the video, Ben goes over the Character Creation process which we'll soon have a chance to play with, when Ambulation comes out - remember that we will all have to redo our character's look when it rolls out.In the video Ben explains that as they've done with the ships and station with the release of Trinity, they want to move away from cartoony looking avatars and get closer to a realistic and shadowy look. If it's Ninja Setsuko at the ArtZone store, I'll definitely click on it.ArtZone, a library of DAZ3D characters that you can pose into still images for use in Photoshop or (example: anime comic book illustration) offers this new character (and clothing/props). NINJA SETSUKO BUNDLE The 3D renders look great, but this character is also used in what appears to be a sub-par mini comic book. (How can there be TWO "first amazing" issues?) I haven't read it - but the preview doesn't put its best foot forward, and the lettering is terrible.
