Tickets for the historic show will only be available through donations to the station of $150, $350, $500 and $750 per pair with special packages at the $2,000 and $5,000 levels. 2007-11-22 05:39:00 Monday night was Charlie Daniels annual Christmas for Kids benefit at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, but it was Daniels who received the big gift.During the show, Martina McBride stepped out on stage and announced that Daniels had been voted admission into the Grand Ole Opry. At the end of the announcement, the curtains parted to show the barn backdrop used for so many years for the Opry radio broadcasts.Daniels told the audience, "I cannot even begin to tell you folks. This is very emotional for me. I never ever in my wildest dreams, when I came to Nashville with my precious wife and son, dreamed that this would happen. To think that now my name will be added along with all these great country artists. Thank you."Daniels has made the country chart over a dozen times, with the biggest being his CMA Single of the Year 1979, The Devil Went Down to Georgia. He has been a frequent guest on the Opry stage over the years.
