Matt Hayes Goes 1-on-1 with Charlie Weis
2008-06-25 18:44:00 On the hardest part about the ND job away from the field: "When someone comes up to me, and I'm having dinner with my family and they want an autograph or want to talk. Then I say 'I'm having dinner with my family,' and they get upset. Or at a basketball game. I love going to those games. At halftime, my wife and I switch seats and I sit on the aisle and sign stuff. I don't want to be

NCAA Hoops is Living Up To Its Maddening Reputation
2008-02-11 16:59:00 February is living up to its reputation here in the northeast. Single digit temperatures combined with forty mile per hour gusts have denizens shivering. Mix today?s weather conditions with Saturday?s air in the forty degree range, and my yard has become a sheet of glass - anyone for a little back yard hockey? Also living ...
Next Season Will Reveal Charlie Weis' Answer to Notre Dame Haters
2007-12-05 04:58:00 Charlie Weis is relieved that Notre Dame's nightmare 3-9 season has come to an end. With a long off-season looming, the coach wants critics to know that the Irish still have fight. So just how quickly can Notre Dame turn things around? "Not fast enough. That's probably as fair an answer as I can say," Weis said Monday at a news conference. "I think that the arrow is definitely pointing up. You

My, how the mighty have fallen: Navy ends ridiculous streak
2007-11-04 21:53:00 We all know that every team tries to schedule a couple of cupcakes every year to pad their stats. Many times it is teams that come from mid-majors or even from fledgling schools just looking for some big paydays. Either way, you can count on a powerhouse beating up on the little guys in literally ...
Charlie Weis at a Crossroad
2007-11-01 16:57:00 It still might turn out exactly the way Charlie Weis' supporters are convinced it will. Notre Dame's crash-and-burn 2007 season might be followed by a maturing roster turning in a respectable record in 2008 before a return to glory in 2009. The results of this season suggest that Weis being unable to pull his program out of its nose dive is equally plausible. That's why those who say the Irish

Notre Dame and Charlie Weis Look to Prove Plenty
2007-08-28 06:01:00 Charlie Weis put his hands on his hips, wrapped them behind his back and rubbed the ridges of his face. He crossed his arms, swayed from side to side and stood up straighter. Despite all the fidgeting, his eyes never budged. They remained locked on the five quarterbacks lined up before him, particularly the three in the middle: Demetrius Jones, Evan Sharpley and Jimmy Clausen. Play-action drills

USC's Pete Caroll On ND's Charlie Weis: "He's A Jerk" - Also Dishes On Norm
2007-07-09 01:39:00 I just returned from the local Gold's Gym in Oakland where I work out and ran into a friend who's a big USC fan, alumn, and donor, on top of being a big exec at a national retailer. Since I'm a Cal fan, we've had a few nice ribbing sessions. The point being, she's got know reason to make up what I'm about to report, asked the questions herself, and when I asked her if she would mind that I blog this, her response was "go ahead."So that's what I'm doing. On May 22nd, my friend attended a USC Alumni event in Southern California where USC Football Coach Pete Carroll was the featured guest. After an evening of drinks and food, there was a question and answer session with Coach Carroll. I proded her to tell me about it while we were streching, and so after some consistent coaxing, she did.She said that she and Coach Carroll got along famously well "I think he seemed to like me," she said. "Oh, did I tell you what he said about Charlie Weis?" No, was my response, and she he... |
