He's a chameleon! He's also the guy who used to pick his nose with his car keys during an exam when he thought everyone was concentrating on their tests and wasn't looking. We see you, Mr. (name omitted to protect the innocent)! Photos: FlynetOnline More photos of Matt Damon on the set of The Informer after the jump.

2008-05-20 06:47:00
Now it can be told. The reason Maddy and Vidya look so much in love is Maddy's 2-year old son Vedant. The child bonded so beautifully with Vidya on the sets of Guru that she became a part of Madhavan and his wife Sarita's inner circle. All said and done, it's just an ad. But the chemistry that Vidya Balan and Madhavan share in the ad for a mobile company has spurred movie makers to plan at least a couple of movies with them together. In fact, the cell phone company has now decided to put out a series of ads featuring Madhavan and Vidya as a couple connecting emotionally on the phone. Madhavan has been running in and out of Mumbai to complete these ads. Says the busy Southern star, "Initially, I was only the brand ambassador for Airtel's southern market. But now they've signed me on for the whole country. And we've shot a series of ads with Vidya and me. For the last one week I've been running in and out Mumbai and Chennai. The Chemistry of Cocaine Addiction
2008-05-19 19:40:00
Crack, free-base, and powderThe cocaine high is a marvel of biochemical efficiency. Cocaine works primarily by blocking the reuptake of dopamine molecules in the synaptic gap between nerve cells. Dopamine remains stalled in the gap, stimulating the receptors, resulting in higher dopamine concentrations and greater sensitivity to dopamine in general.Since dopamine is involved in moods and activities such as pleasure, alertness and movement, the primary results of using cocaine--euphoria, a sense of well being, physical alertness, and increased energy?are easily understood. Even a layperson can tell when lab rats have been on a cocaine binge. The rapid movements, sniffing, and sudden rearing at minor stimuli are not that much different in principle from the outward signs of cocaine intoxication among higher primates.Chemically, cocaine and amphetamine are very different compounds. Psychoactively, however, they are very much alike. Of all the addictive drugs, cocaine and speed have the...
Diaz and Kutcher have chemistry in a clean comedy
2008-05-16 09:15:00
What Happens in Vegas A 20th Century Fox release. Directed by Tom Vaughan. Starring Cameron Diaz, Ashton Kutcher, Rob Corddry, Lake Bell, Treat Williams, Queen Latifah, Dennis Farina, and Dennis Miller. Rated PG-13. In What Happens in Vegas Kutcher is Jack Fuller, a slacker who finds himself, after a wild night in Las Vegas, married to Diaz’s go-getter Joy McNally, who is coming off a disappointment. Is what ensues high art? No, but neither is it lowbrow city. Lying somewhere in the middle, Vegas will turn a nice profit for 20th Century Fox, while reminding audiences just how good a comedian Diaz is. Jack Fuller (Kutcher) loves a good time, so much so that he gets fired by his own father (Williams). So, what does he – along with his friend Steve (Corddry), a not-so-great lawyer – decide to do? Why, go to Vegas, of course. At the same time Joy (Diaz) is in a serious relationship, and she’s a job-focused young woman. She gets stopped in her tracks when her fian...

Chemistry and Compatibility
2008-04-30 14:00:00
Are you and your partner compatible but have no sexual chemistry?  If you are struggling with this issue, you are not alone.  My experience is that all great relationships have both chemistry and compatibility.  If you feel this is a problem, it is.  Ignoring it makes it worse. This problem does not go away, not matter what excuses you make or how much you want it to disappear. Actually, over time, it gets worse.   You are not being selfish to want both – you deserve it.Ask yourself:  Do I deserve to have both a best friend and a lover? And mostly, do you deserve love?  You cannot talk yourself into chemistry or compatibility. There is only one thing sadder than two people who have good sexual chemistry yet can’t seem to be good friends, and that is best friends who just don’t have that sexual chemistry. Oftentimes, best friends stay together and deny their sexual nature; resentment usually builds over time. When you have b...

The 3-D model starts with patterns of human behavior and movement and uses them to simulate the behavior of a crowd in mob situations and pedestrian habits under certain building configurations, resulting in a virtual crowd video."Crowds are vital to the lifeblood of our cities,” said the model’s creator, Paul Torrens of Arizona State University. But, he adds, it is impractical “to establish live experiments with hundreds or thousands of people along busy streetscapes, to reproduce mob behavior during riots for the purposes of academic experimentation, or, to expect to replicate the life and death behavior under emergency situations in a f...

Edutopia Poll: Are Serious Games Effective Teaching Tools? from chemistry n
2008-04-24 09:01:00
Via: Edutopia by Sara BernardTo the excitement of many youngsters, computer and video games have entered the educational playing field. Research increasingly supports the cognitive benefits of such games -- not to mention the fact that most kids today are already playing them and loving them -- and now educators and game designers are finding new and exciting ways to embed curricular content into complex yet fascinating play environments. On the other hand, critics charge that the games' educational benefits have not been clearly established. Furthermore, competitiveness and the use of hierarchical scoring systems can compromise engagement for some students, and video gaming at school reinforces the digitized and sedentary lifestyle many young people already experience at home. Would you, or do you, use digital games in the classroom?Edutopia is interested in your opinion @ http://www.edutopia.org/are-com-puter-and-video-games-effective--teaching-toolsAre computer and video games effe...
Serious Gaming With COTS: What Children Learn! from chemistry notes

Via: Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS) - Games-Based LearningOne of the main problems associated with the perception of games as learning tools is that observers generally do not look past the surface content of the game, the graphics, the animations and the sounds. As a result people fail to see or become aware of the rich learning environments and experiences that game play can offer. In order to try and identify what learning takes place when children play games Marc Prensky developed his What kids learn that's positive from playing video games. Consolarium, the LTS's Scottish Centre for Games and Learning, interprets his model so that relevance to teaching and learning can be made more explicit and accessible to teachers. One of the ways the Consolarium is using games in teaching and learning is to ‘retro-fit’ commercial off the shelf (COTS) games to help create motivating contexts that will engage learners. Be it using a narrative driven interactive story such as Hotel Du...

Hell explained by Chemistry Student

Funny as hell (no pun intended):The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term.The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, and via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well:Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time.
