Chicago White Sox Pass Up Future Star To Continue With Losing Past....
2010-10-29 19:13:00 Apparently saying goodbye is the hardest thing for the Chicago White Sox to do. A great job of reporting today from Chris DeLuca and the Chicago Suntimes in this morning's edition breaking the story that the Chicago White Sox indeed were allowing other teams (in this instance the Florida Marlins) to talk to Ozzie Guillen about moving on from the south side to their destination. According to DeLuca's major league sources, Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria was intent on making "The Blizzard Of Oz" his next manager where the talks between the two organizations involved a trade for the rights of Guillen for top prospect and right fielder Mike Stanton. Of course we know now that the Chicago White Sox have...

September Swoonin' with the Chicago White Sox.....again
2010-09-20 09:00:00 Can you hear that sound? It's the familiar groan of disappointment coming from the South Side in the crisp, soon-to-be autumn weather. Listen to it as it slowly fades into nothing as the attendance numbers bottom out in reaction to the White Sox falling like a meteor out of the AL Central race. At 7-10 and facing a difficult closing schedule, the White Sox appear running headlong toward their 4 losing month of September in the last 5 years. To note, the one outlying season was 2007, and the over-.500 in September was kinda overshadowed by a 9-20 August. Whatever the reason, no Twins lead isn't safe when September rolls around.
Chicago Gamers (And One Chicago White Sox) Attend Halo Reach Launch Parties
2010-09-14 19:39:00 The midnight launch of Halo: Reach Monday caused thousands of Chicagoans to stay up and wait in line and party at GameStops and Best Buys across the city. One such fan was White Sox second baseman Brent Lillibridge, who Tweeted: "Most important night of the year Halo coming out at 12 tonight and yes I'm in a line to get it... Jokes please," around 11 p.m. Monday. Lillibridge also posted a picture of the line he was waiting in. (GameSmith guesses he went to the Diversey store possibly)...
Chicago White Sox Salsa and Stars with Ozzie Guillen and Friends
2010-09-01 03:00:00 Here's a great pic of me & chicago white sox coach ozzie guillen just seconds before I was asked to throw out the 1st pitch at a big game in front of tens of thousands of ppl last month. There is a softer side to ozzie though that most don't know about. take his event he is hosting "Salsa and Stars with Ozzie Guillen & Friends" - a great upcoming fundraising event to raise money for families and children in crisis. Manny Ramirez to the Chicago White Sox!
2010-08-30 05:46:00 Manny Ramirez joins the Chicago White Sox, likely on Monday night in Cleveland where his Major League Baseball career began. Yes, the deal improves the White Sox on paper but will it be enough for the Southsiders to catch the Twins? Not so fast my friend...
Would you like to pitch for the Chicago White Sox? Apply Today!
2010-08-30 04:10:00 The Chicago White Sox are seeking a short-inning relief pitcher. The Chicago White Sox are a Major League Baseball team in the American League, and have a proud tradition of adequate levels of winning dating back to 1901. Position will be called upon to pitch in 6th, 7th, and 8th innings on average of three nights a week, but occasionally on back-to-back nights. Need fastball of at least 91 mph with movement. Additional breaking pitches preferred, but not required. Preference will be given to left-handers, but right-handers are still encouraged to apply. Must be mobile with the ability to field position as a lot of backing up of the catcher is likely to be required. Please provide a list of references with no more than three other professional organizations that have given up on your career. Must understand that injuries are a risk in this line of work, especially with our team's history. Minorities encouraged to apply. Conversational Spanish is a VERY big plus. Email re...
Dark times for the Chicago White Sox
2010-08-10 08:00:00 Generally I refuse to begin worrying about this 2010 incarnation of the White Sox so long as a certain element of the team remains static. The team approached the assembling of their starting pitching staff as though it carried the utmost importance, assembled the bullpen like they valued results but were working on a budget, and slapped the lineup together with the sense that it would come around as the season went along. It would be a waste of energy to judge the performance any differently. Still, even with the starting pitching--the engine that powers this squad and sparked the most epic of season turnaround--cooking as well as ever after the second-straight superb effort from Edwin Jackson, it be naive to not acknowledge that something is wrong. I mean, the White Sox just lost three of four TO THE BALTIMORE ORIOLES!!!

Chicago White Sox's "Out of the Park for Parkinson's"
2010-05-07 18:41:00 I wanted to shine some light on an organization that I personally have not worked with but am inspired and motivated by nonetheless. The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF), founded in the 50's, has set out to improve the quality of care of those suffering from this disease. For those of you unfamiliar with Parkinson's, it's actually the 2nd most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer's and sadly, just about one million people in our country are stricken with it. As of right now, there is no cure, however, a buddy of mine, Chicago White Sox 2nd baseman, Gordon Beckham is personally trying to change that.Beckham has pledged to make a donation to NPF for every home run that he hits during the 2010 Chicago...

Chicago White Sox 2010 needs
2009-09-05 03:41:00 As we've gone along in this blog, everyone who had commented has had ideas about exactly what the Sox need to add, subtract or do to become the top dog again. And to everyone who idolizes Kenny Williams and will support and protect his every move, relax. We are just speculating and B.S.ing about our individual ideas. So here goes......
Chicago White Sox' Ozzie Guillen quotes former manager Jeff Torborg

Congratulations Mark Buehrle and the Chicago White Sox
2009-07-24 02:32:00 Congratulations to Mark Buehrle for throwing the 18th perfect game in Major League Baseball. What an awesome accomplishment this is. It not only demonstrates the athletic talent we have in Chicago but reminds us that amazing things happen in sports and life. I am personally honored to have thrown out my very first "first pitch" to Mark Buehrle. My throw was a little high and off to the right (haha), but he caught it and said I did a good job. How excited I was to hear that I did a good job from a pitcher! Thank you to the White Sox for making one of my dreams come true. Lets not forget about how well the rest...

Boston Red Sox News & Notes - 9/1
2008-09-01 12:00:00 The Boston Red Sox entered their final game in August looking for a 3-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox and to at least stay pace with the Tampa Bay Rays. Neither of those things happened though as the White Sox got the better of the Red Sox and the Rays romped over the Baltimore ...

Ya Can't Win 'Em All...Chicago White Sox 4 Boston Red Sox 2
2008-09-01 10:49:00 Sunday in Boston's Fenway Park was beautiful, at least weather-wise. But the Red Sox could not complete the sweep of the Chicago White Sox. They were on the short end of a 4-2 score. Good pitching beat good hitting once again, as Jays pitcher Gavin Floyd survived a terrible first inning (in terms of pitch count and runners allowed on base, not runs scored) but seemed to get stronger as the innings rolled by. Here's what Tito Francona had to say... "We really worked Floyd in the first inning. Then he got comfortable and started throwing that breaking ball. He could throw it at the hitter, he could throw it away, and he could throw it for strikes. We couldn't break through."Peter here, and no, the Red Sox just couldn't get that BIG hit. They left 11 men on base, and that might be the most telling stat of all. Boston had a total of 8 hits, but none of them were clutch hits, hits that score a run or three. Timmy Wakefield had a good outing, going six innings and giving up six hits a...
Missed Opportunities Doom Red Sox In 4-2 Loss
2008-08-31 23:13:00 The Boston Red Sox left 11 runners on base failing to captalize early on Gavin Floyd as the Chicago White Sox went on to win 4-2 in front of 37,391 at Fenway Park on a gorgeous day for baseball. With the Tampa Bay Rays about to win for the 5th straight time, the Red Sox will ...

Boston Red Sox News & Notes - 8/30
2008-08-30 14:54:00 Before last night’s game versus the Chicago White Sox, the Boston Red Sox got the best news possible about Josh Beckett’s right elbow. And rather than tell you about it, let’s here it from the “clown’s mouth”. Video courtesy of WBZ I am pretty sure that the White Sox skipper Ozzie Guillen probably is happy they can’t ...

Dice-K Spectacular In Red Sox 8-0 Win
2008-08-30 04:46:00 Daisuke Matsuzaka had arguably his best outing of the season tonight for the Boston Red Sox as he limited the Chicago White Sox to 2 hits in an 8-0 win in front of 37,755 at Fenway Park. The win for the local nine ends a brief two game losing streak at the Fens. The win will ...

Buying Low: Nick Swisher And The Chicago White Sox Hitters
2008-06-09 13:16:00 From Steve Gardner's chat at USA Today:Sparks,Nevada: Greetings Steve. From this point forward who is more productive. Konerko, Swisher, or C.Pena? Thanks Steve Gardner: I drafted Konerko and Pena on my AL LABR team and I've since traded both of them, so that shows you where I stand to some degree. Of course, I they still have some value since another owner was willing to trade for them, but I don't see how it can go much lower. Konerko seems to be heating up a little (two hits in each of last three games), but his wrist has been bothering him for a while now. With Pena, we just might have to chalk up last season as a fluke since he's back to his old ways, striking out and hitting a handful of homers. I'd be the most confident in Swisher putting up the best numbers from here on out. He's healthy and young enough that he's not set in his ways. Plus, he gets on base. He's also had at least one run scored in each of the past 7 games. I happen to agree on Swisher. As a matter of...
