Initially the DHA fire station was informed of the fire which reached the spot immediately and while pulling their ladders from the balcony side found a headless body. They immediately informed the Boat Basin police, who reached the spot and the DHA started the fire operation. The DHA fire office states that two fire tenders took part in the operation. 2007-10-08 17:00:00 CNews PESHAWAR: After withdrawal of the no-confidence motion, the NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani Monday gave the governor advice for dissolution of the provincial assembly.Muslim League (Q) MPA Nighat Orakzai this morning in the provincial assembly session announced that the opposition has decided to withdraw the no confidence motion against chief minister.Some members of the opposition opposed the withdrawal of the move against the chief minister but agreed to the decision on the advice of Speaker Bakht Jehan Khan.Mian Nisar Gul, an MPA of Tehrik-e-Insaf, presented his resignation from the assembly membership to the speaker. Karnataka Chief Minister to Resign on oct 8 evening
2007-10-08 13:49:00 Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy will resign on Monday evening, Home Minister M P Prakash said.Prakash said a meeting of the Janata Dal-Secular legislature party will be convened later in the evening following which the chief minister would put in his papers. He will then take a floor test.This move comes in the wake of the tough talk by Governor Rameshwar Thakur during his meeting with the chief minister earlier during the day.The chief minister had conveyed to him that he would face the floor test on October 18 and a special session of the assembly too had been convened in this regard.The governor was, however, blunt in his reply and said it was his prerogative to call for a session. He also told the chief minister that he will have to submit his papers failing which he may have to dismiss him.The governor also said that he would invite the JD-S first to prove its strength. The chief minister was asked to get back to the governor by evening and make clear his intentions.
