Quellia wanted to know more about that rascally chipmunk from One Egg Short.That stituation happened to me several years ago (well, all but the Gerard Butler DVD thing--can't remember who the beefcake du jour was at the time--so it was either VHS or something on TV we watched). I was house-and cat-sitting for a friend who was on an overseas contract. Rusty and Midge (or as I called them, Bitey and Purry) roamed the neighbourhood, occasionally bringing back souvenirs and takeaway meals from their adventures: birds usually; weird looking mutant bugs and mice, occasionally. 2007-03-10 17:45:04 Source: Variety So it turns out that Fox Animation is putting out a live action Chipmunks movie starring none other than Jason Lee as David Seville. I can only hope this modern version of the chipmunks involves Mr.Seville as a crack addict and these crazy chipmunks are just some whacked out hallucination. Just think of It’s All Gone Pete Tong to get the idea. That would get my ass planted in the theater. I used to love the Chipmunks as a kid with their cartoon series and don’t forget the Chipettes, but a live action version looks to do to the Chipmunks what they did to Scooby Doo and Garfield. In other words make it so even children don’t like them. It doesn’t help when this is coming from the director of Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties. Still Jason Lee gives it some hope as a kids movie.
