These Are The Choices You Get When You Try To Become A Trophy Wife With The
2009-08-19 17:20:00
Today, the NY Daily News posted an incredibly disturbing story which ties a VH-1 "Megan Wants A Millionaire" contestant to a model's murder (a model who was quite possibly his wife). Unfortunately, I'm not surprised. Not because I know the guy (I've never even watched the show), but because the growing plethora of F-list (which is way below Kathy Griffin's hilarious D-list, by the way) "reality" shows on American television have left the producers with not many worthy candidates willing to be filmed looking for love or money while getting abused in front of a TV audience. Reality TV has become such a mainstay in fact, that most (if not all) television-watchers know in advance what they'd be getting themselves into by signing up for these circus acts, and so, there are not really that many stand-up respectable straight-laced men or women looking to get involved. Therefore, the producers do tend to choose somewhat "questionable" participants, which may also be a ploy for bett...

Last night, I took my health insurance broker out for a steak dinner with all the trimmings, including a bottle of wine, at a restaurant that was, well, not cheap in Beverly Hills.  You see, before he became my insurance broker, he was just a friend, a fellow graduate of America’s finest liberal arts’ college ...

The Hard Choices the Obama Team Refuses to Make
2009-08-03 09:18:00
Both Glenn and Michelle (in her Buzzworthy column) linked posts addressing comments Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner made recently about the budget. Suggesting that the government may have to raise taxes on the middle class, Geithner contended that to “bring these deficits down” requires “some very hard choices.”  Why can’t the Administration make such hard choices by ...
Top digital photo printers - 3 good choices for every budget
2009-07-29 11:13:00
Today we’re going to have a small post on digital photo printers . You must admit that it is much more pleasant to watch a photo album “in flesh and blood”, than on your PC. A printed photo gives a sentimental value to it. You’ll always be touched while regarding it and reading what’s written on its back, and you’ll be projecting yourself into that moment, one that belongs to you. Digital photo printers - the easy way to get real photos If before entering digital era, you had an apology for not going to developing centers, now, with a photo printer, you can have your own photo album very easily. In the next lines I’m going to suggest you a couple of photo printers for all budgets. For more details about each particular printer, you will have to read the dedicated articles. Canon Selphy CP760- this is one of the best buy digital printer in the market, thanks to its price and decent features. In this post you can find out more about the Canon Selphy CP760. HP A52...
How to make smart choices at the Taste of Chicago
2009-07-03 17:02:00
The time has come when the annual Taste of Chicago has taken over our city.  I know that majority of the food is not on my healthy list, however I find that I have to go at least once each year.  Here are a few tips I can give you to help you stay focused as you wind your way from one end of Columbus to the other:1)  If you feel you have no self control (and by no means is this a jab, we all have these moments) or do not want to overeat,  buy a smaller amount of tickets.  When you've used up your tickets see if you're still hungry.  You may decide that you have had enough...
Lower Prices Make This a Good Time to Upgrade Dairy and Egg Choices
2009-06-23 04:47:00
Ever get grocery guilt? Like, you feel like you should be buying organic or hormone-free for better health, the environment, animal welfare or whatever reason the guilt fairy brought you? Now that the price of both dairy and eggs are down, it's not a bad time to think about upgrading your choices of these products. It's not as expensive to buy "better" in these two categories as it is with meat and some produce. With the dropping prices, in fact, you can buy hormone-free milk and cage-free eggs for the same or less as you used to pay for the "regular" varieties. Of course, that assumes that you know what "better" variety you want to buy. I wrote recently on Wise...

Tough Choices Have Real Consequences (Part 2)

What would be the best decision for the hypothetical IBM employee we met in Part 1? Let me give it to you straight, as always. I have no idea. But I do know how to help that person go about the process of figuring it out. It all depends on that worker's specific goals, as well as an object

Wise Choices When Choosing International Auto Insurance
2009-05-18 02:38:00
International auto insurance is necessary for any driver planning to take their car to another country. Car insurance often does not cover foreign travel and international policies are necessary to cover trips abroad. To make sure buyers are getting the best deals on their insurance abroad, buyers should be aware of these wise policy decisions.1. Choose a Yearly Policy - Deciding on a yearly policy not only makes buying insurance hassle free but guarantees the rate will not increase during the year. With any accident or ticket, your car insurance is almost guaranteed to go up in the event that drivers have 6 month insurance. With a year policy, no matter what happens drivers will have a constant rate.2. Re-Check Your Mileage Regularly - When insurance agents ask how far a driver's foreign traveling will be it is important to know to the best of their knowledge the exact mileage. Each mileage amount puts drivers into specific categories of protection with often significant price dif...

The Choices of the Young:The Obama Agenda, Individual Initiative & the GOP
2009-03-19 18:40:00
When, during or just after last year’s presidential campaign, I talked to or read about young voters enthusiastic about Barack Obama, I found that a healthy percentage, perhaps as high as 80%, had little idea what their man stood for.  They were enthusiastic about the “new kind of politics” he was going to bring to ...

There are countless diet programs and weight loss systems available. The majority are from multi-million dollar companies. Do you really think these businesses achieved success with a one-time, fix-all diet plan? No, they count on having most people return on a recurring basis; hence the term "yo-yo
Choices to Abuse, and Domestic Violence
2008-12-23 17:01:00
I have been reading alot of stories about how domestic violence maybe on the raise due to our economic issues in the world presently. There are all kinds of circumstances in which could escalate domestic abuse, but we need to be realize that didn't CAUSE a person to abuse. It just gave the abuser an excuse to show their true colors.Because it Matters was speaking on this as well.My perspective of it from the inside at the time was that his anger was because of his stress, issues at work, because he lost his job, because he couldn?t provide for his family like he wanted to, etc. But here?s the nugget ? I excused, or made excuses for, his rages and actions, based on the circumstances. This is the same thing he always did. His rage was always because I did?, the kids did?, if you would only?.Rage and other personal emotions and actions are always a personal choice. They are not something that happens to a person against their will. They choose to behave that way ? even if they genuine...

Hard Choices And Soft-Headed Punditry
2008-08-12 18:56:00
While many lefty bloggers out there have quite rightly focused on the idiocy of Cokie Roberts lambasting Barack Obama for taking a vacation in ?that foreign, exotic location? of our 50th state, Hawaii by name, I would like to return to some of her lightweight analysis (along with husband Steve) that appeared in the Bucks County Courier Times on the matter of ?hard versus soft power? under Bushco? As (Defense Secretary Robert) Gates told the Global Leadership Campaign, it was not just ?America's military forces and intelligence capabilities? that ?held the Soviets at bay for more than four decades.? There was also the Agency for International Development working to pull people out of poverty, diplomats defusing dicey situations, and the presence of the U.S. Information Agency providing a place to learn about ?our history and culture and values.?But, Gates told NPR, that all changed after the Soviet Union fell apart. ?When the Cold War was at its height, the U.S. Agency for Internatio...

Monday Morning Music Choices
2008-07-21 16:33:00
By Cameron ClarkI like waking up early in the morning. It's the most peaceful time of the day. I have really fallen in love with my sunrise ritual at our new house. The sun comes up over the woods in our backyard, spreading an orange-ish sun-kissed light over our deck. Around 5:45 I go out to meet the sun rise with Abby, my Bible, the morning newspaper, and a cup of coffee. The coolness of the early morning is something to be savored, especially in the hotness of late summer. I am at my leisure to read through some scriptures, reflect, pray, and just be. How blessed we are to have a place like this. To be in a town with friends and family. To have the opportunities coaching, doctoring, and finally growing our roots as a family. The latter is truly sweet as we have been wondering in the northern wilderness these last two years. The kind of peace and excitement I feel upon waking up is a truly spiritual experience. On this Monday morning, I thought I'd check out the music already on...

Strong euro influences holiday choices
2008-05-29 02:00:00
The value of the pound against the euro is directly affecting people's travel habits, it has been revealed. According to Directholidaybookings.co.uk, the strength of the single currency has put people off travelling to traditional European destinations. This has led to many people seeking alternative options beyond the continent, such as Egypt and Morocco. The two African nations were said to offer far more favourable exchange rates with the UK, which means holidaymakers could find they offer better value for money. Andrew Gibson, director of DirectHolidaybookings.co.uk, commented: "British tourists are finding that their money will go much further if they consider alternative locations." He added that the cost of visiting established hotspots such as Spain and France has risen "significantly" in the last few months. This comes after the Association of British Travel Agents revealed that emerging economies and mid to long-haul destinations are becoming mor...

McCain's last three veep choices-Jindal, Romney, and Crist
2008-05-22 15:22:00
I guess it's smart to send up this trial balloon. Let's see how the Corner and other conservatives react. Let's look at polls and see how this shakes out. I'm surprised by Pawlenty's absence. Of the three, I like Jindal because he's the freshest, both in age and ideas, although Jindal may highlight the age issue instead of diffuse it. Oddly, his Asian-ness may help McCain win back some of the college crowd for McCain. Romney just doesn't have electoral pull. The only reason conservatives liked him was that he was the conservative alternative to McCain. McCain's already up big in Florida and shouldn't need Crist. Story. John McCain is hosting several officials considered to be potential running mates at his Arizona retreat over the Memorial Day weekend — but his campaign insists the gathering is just a social affair. The presumptive GOP presidential nominee plans to host two-dozen guests, including Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and form...

Make Good Choices Today (Write a letter!)

Do you have a certain hope or wish for Spinelli's character on GH? Do you want to see him with a particular pairing, etc? Would you like to have your opinion acknowledged but you are skeptical about how much your voice actually counts to TPTB? Well, you may find this interesting: Sonya Eddy (Epiphany on GH) was recently interviewed and stressed how important writing fan mail is. She explained that writing an one fan letter can have the weight of a couple thousand fans in the eyes of the people in charge. That is EXTREMELY powerful...the idea that your voice is counted so much even if you are the only one. Sonya also said that she has seen storylines change because of such mail. Wow. Imagine for a second if each Spinelli fan took out a good old piece of paper and pen, sat down, and expressed what the character meant to them. In a letter, you could say what you love, what you wish to see more of, who you hope Spinelli was with romantically, what left an impression on you....anything ...

3G iPhone to come in three color choices?
2008-05-14 16:59:00
In a report published earlier suggests that the 3G iPhone could come in more than one color. These colors include white, black, and silver. The report also claims that Apple partner Swisscom has already set their usage prices for 3G and and SMS usage for the new device. The report clearly states it is speculation, so it should be taken as such. According to the report one of the first carriers to get the new iPhone will be Swisscom, which would explain the early preparation. The rumor continues to speculate that there will be a 32GB version of the iPhone, whats more they even have some rumored price points. The 16GB 3G iPhone will sell for $627, and the 32GB 3G iPhone for $760. Again, this is not confirmed. According to the report, the 16GB model will only be available in silver. The 32GB color will come in white, black, and silver. This is perhaps an incentive for subscriber to purchase the more expensive model. The new iPhone will be on sale in 118 Swisscom shops, and in Apple s...

We are focusing on healthy foods and snacks for the month of May! I am a picky eater at times, and I am always on the go. Eating healthy is hard but Luna Bars and Clif bars have made it easier. Now I have no excuses not to take better care of myself. I have tried numerous nutrition bars, meal replacement bars and granola snack bars, and I found them either not satisfying, not appetizing or they left a bad after-taste in my mouth. I have tried various flavors of both the Luna bar and the Clif bar and I was pleasantly surprised at how good they all taste. Click to read more ...
