Xiaxue And I Thinks A Real Blogger Should Not Do House Chores
2008-06-07 20:04:00
All of us are wondering what have I been doing besides blogging, shopping and attending free events. Am I still schooling in any college? Do you think I'm schooled?Oh well, no worries. I'll be honest, okay.Neither am I working nor am I schooling (term beings on 4th August as a LaSalle student). Well at least for the mean time. I have been staying home the entire day/weeks. If not, go out and do some shopping if I want to. That's how I spend my life lately. Honestly, it's not fun. It kinda bores the hell out of me . And then when I'm at home, all I did was blogging, watching pornographic materials (ok I lied) and apart from that, go to popular fashion site. So where is the fun? Tell me.By the way, I don't even have to clean the house ya'll. That's what I love most. I'm not any home-maker. Hence, cleaning, mopping and everything related to "cleaning the house" is definately not my job. However, there was a time where everyone weren't at home and oh my god!! That was considere...

Today Lee turned old 38. To celebrate I made a real dinner. And by real I mean something other than chicken nuggets and french fries and something that didn’t come from a box with the word “helper” on it. I know. I went all out. To prepare for this glorious meal I made a grocery list ...

Doing dull chores could improve sex life, US experts say
2008-03-08 20:18:00
American men have doubled the amount of housework they do and may be having better sex because of it, experts have told AFP."By and large, the more men do around the house, the happier women are," sociologist Scott Coltrane of the University of California, Riverside, a co-author of a report published in synopsis form on the website of the Council of Contemporary Families (CCF) said late Thursday."When men do more of the housework, women's perceptions of fairness and marital satisfaction rise and the couple experience less marital conflict," the report says. The reward for menfolk who help out around the house could be more sex.Via
Doing chores could improve sex life
2008-03-07 00:12:00
Men have doubled the amount of housework they do, spend three times more time with their kids than they did 50 years ago, and have happier wives and more solid marriages because of it, a US study has found. And by pulling their weight in the dull household chores, they could be enhancing their sex life, the report’s co-author Scott Coltrane said. “By and large, the more men do around the house, the happier women are,” said Mr Coltranem a sociologist at the University of California. “When men do more of the housework, women’s perceptions of fairness and marital satisfaction rise and the couple experience less marital conflict,” the report says. The reward for men who help out around the house could be more sex. “We sociologists generally don’t go there, but therapists say there’s a direct correlation” Coltrane said. Psychologist Joshua Coleman said that sharing the household chores “is associated with hig...
Tackling the Laundry and other Chores
2008-02-29 00:03:00
Today is just going to be an easy day. I'm taking it easy. Whenever we come back from a trip I always feel the need to clean up the house. I'm doing that today but just slowly and surely. I told my husband he do the same. He's staying home today to rest. We both have a little headache from sleeplessness, but we're okay. The laundry room is screaming for attention right now, but....hmm, it can wait. :)

Chores Can Help your Child Learn about Teamwork and a Strong Work Ethic
2007-12-13 16:58:00
Chores Can Help your Child Learn about Teamwork and a Strong Work Ethic Chores can help develop a sense of responsibility and self worth in your child. It should be understood by all family members they are expected and necessary to a household running successfully and efficiently. They can help create a sense of unity and family and is a great place for your child to learn about teamwork. Parents should take special care to handle the delegation of chores to children so they don’t become a source of frustration or create arguments.Allow your child to have an active say in the delegation of chores. Give them choices. We all have household chores that we don’t like to do, but if it’s a chore the child enjoys doing then there’s less likelihood it will create a battle in the end. The child will most likely appreciate having the chance to be heard and having a choice. It’s imperative that you set parameters early on for the successful completion of a chore. They may not perform...

A Pasta Dish To Do Your Chores To
2007-11-18 02:03:00
For the most part I never knew what a ragu was for a very long time. All my life in fact. When I heard the term ragu, my mind would usually conceive a visual image of something more along the lines of beef tripe, or something exotic and mildly freakish like ox tongue stew. But it wasn't until I made this pasta dish for a friend that they mentioned this concoction was in fact like a ragu. I gave her a blank stare, as if she had just spoken to me in Elvish or something.Although traditionally made with ground beef a rugu is essentially a rich tomato based sauce made for pasta that is cooked slowly over low heat. The name is derived from the French ragoûter, which means to revive or stimulate the taste of. So I guess essentially this pasta sauce has the basic attributes of an Italian ragu, just without the meat.I made this dish on a lazy day-off that I spent doing menial chores. And of all chores I hate doing, laundry is probably the one I detest most. It's not the washing part that ...
Saturday Morning Chores- Living Trini
2007-11-17 02:38:00
Ok for those of us that grew up in Trinidad/Tobago..Saturday morning was always chores morning..and for some blinking reason...your parents always had TONS of mahogany furniture that needed to be rubbed down with a soft cloth and Pledge oil..eventually the spray replaced it...thank god..Intricate Lace Doilies, starched and sprayed into spectacular designs, had to be lifted and shaken , tables dusted and polished and then replaced. Crystal vases to spray and wash down with Windex, and Terazzo floors made broom clean. In our house we had 2 cherry wood rocking chairs, a dining room table with six chairs, a drinks cart, a piano..YES I SAID A PIANO...sigh... a glass top breakfast table with stainless steel chairs with a wicker seat and a sleeper lounge to dust plus a whole living room to vacuum. It never dawned on me that we had so much wood in our house till Saturday morning bright and early VAL - [the mommy only I CAN SAY THAT OKAY????] wake us up to do chores before we had to head to ...

Child Size Cleaning Tools Encourages Children to Help with Household Chores
2007-10-16 19:48:00
Any toy that can encourage a child to help with household chores is a good toy in my opinion. Add quality wooden construction, and I am sold! Magic Cabin offers a Child's Cleaning Set that contains real cleaning tools. The set includes a metal dustpan and broom, string mop, and a broom; all child-sized!We have had the Child's Cleaning Set in my preschool classroom for four years now, and it continues to be one of the most popular play items. Children often use the mop for fighting fires (perhaps they have heard the term "mop up" after local forest fires), and they use the broom to clean up sand from the sand table. Cleaning up your own messes is a natural consequence for spills, and the most effective way for children to learn responsibility. Learning life skills, such as cleaning, is also part the Montessori philosophy for early childhood education. According to Michael Olaf, an amazing source for Montessori materials,I have heard parents exclaim in dismay that their child...

The Anchoress Stands by Her Man (and Mine) for ?08
2006-08-23 19:15:08
I was delighted to learn (via Instapundit) that one of my favorite bloggers stands by her man (and mine) for the 2008 GOP nomination for president of the United States. While the Anchoress doesn’t think Rudy Giuliani is the “perfect man” for the job, she, like me, trusts him “to carry forth the war on terror as it needs to be carried.” And on another key issue, she trusts him to appoint “strict constitutionalist SCOTUS judges.“ While I very much enjoy the Anchoress’s blog, I disagree with her on a number of issues. I like her because she always constructs thoughtful arguments and does so again in this piece defending her support for the former Mayor of the Big Apple. She believes he has the skills and character to lead our nation at this difficult time. So make sure to read her post; she makes a great case for a good man.
