Christian, Rap, and Very Funny
2007-12-11 12:41:00 I was over at Ty’s WorkAtHomeDad blog and saw this video from GodTube called Baby Got Book. It’s a parody of an old Sir Mix-A-Lot song. I’m amazed at how they cleaned it up - and made it uber-funny! Nothing better than clean laughter. bookmark:

Christian Rap ? Take 2
2006-12-01 01:52:04 Some of you may have followed some of the debate in the fundamentalist blogosphere over John Piper’s allowing Christian rapper Curtis Allen to sing a rap song in the Saturday night worship service at Bethlehem Baptist. There was much written on the issue and I am sure most of you couldn’t follow everything. Then the discussion spawned debates over music in general all over the blogworld but also specifically here at my blog here. Well, I don’t want to reopen the whole debate. But I would like to point you to a few posts relevant to this discussion that you may find helpful. First, my friend Nathan Pitchford has a helpful post on “The Poetics of Rap”. In that post he evaluates rap’s place within the history of poetry. You will find it informative and helpful (by the way Nathan is a great poet in his own right).
