Meet the Group That?s Killing Christians in Nigeria
2011-12-28 16:55:00

Nigeria?s Christmas Present ? Blowing Up Christians: The New York Times Scr
2011-12-28 12:29:00
Several churches in northern Nigeria were bombed December 25, in what has been described as “Nigeria’s blackest Christmas ever.” The attacks, perpetrated by the Muslim militant group Boko Haram, killed at least 39 people, “the majority dying on the steps of a Catholic church [in Madalla near the capital of Abuja] after celebrating Christmas Mass ...
Save The Date! Athiests, Christians spar about Doomsday
2011-05-19 14:03:00
What are you doing this Saturday? A little gardening, maybe sleeping in? Ascending to heaven to escape the firey showdown between good and evil? Meh, either way you've got a website to turn to.WeCanKnow.org is the official countdown and information site run by a group of Christians who believe Rapture, the Christian precursor to the End Of Days, will occur this Saturday. WeCan'tKnow.org- is the Athiest site mocking the believers with a "countdown to backpeddling".I'm not sure whose side you're on, but I suppose you have two days to think about it.As for me,  all this doomsday stuff about the non-believers burning in hell is what turns a lot of people off to Christianity, by the way. I just don't respond...
Wash. Post's Ezra Klein Absolves Radical Islam, 'Young Christians
2011-03-10 19:45:00
-By Warner Todd Huston Journolister and Washington Post writer Ezra Klein is another one of those liberals in the elite Old Media trying to pretend that there is no Islam in terrorism these days. He's also another one of those who, in the face of reality, hyperbolically say that Christians are somehow just as prone to terrorism as Muslims. If only he could find any of that terrorism, he might have some veracity on the issue. Oh, Klein is desperately trying to find that Christian terrorism no matter how wild a stretch it is, sure enough. Like President Obama and his Deputy National Security Advisor, Denis McDonough, Klein is trying to take criminal acts unconnected to religion perpetrated by Americans...
Bentley: Christians are 'Brothers and Sisters'
2011-01-19 21:20:00
Fox News reported that Alabama Governor, (Republican) Robert Bentley, who has only been in office three days, is facing a lot of criticism for a remark that he made to a crowd at Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church. Bentley remarked that if they have not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior then they are not his brother or his sister. The Southeast regional director of the Anti-Defamation League told Fox that Bentley should understand the impact of his remarks. Alabama Images Fox includes: Bentley was sworn in shortly before he spoke at the church where the late civil rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was once a pastor. According to The Birmingham News, during his speech he said it was important for Alabamians to ''love and care for each other." He also told the crowd he is color blind. But just minutes later, he went on to say if they don?t have the same ?daddy? then they are not brothers and sisters. "There may be some people here today who do not have livi...
Pope speaks about plight of Christians in Pakistan
2011-01-10 23:40:00
In Pakistan, last July, two Christian brothers accused under the law of writing a blasphemous letter against Muhammad, the founder of Islam, were gunned down outside a Pakistani court. In 2005, another Christian accused of blasphemy was beaten to death in a prison hospital by a guard wielding a hammer. In November 2010, a Christian mother of four was sentenced to death under the law, a case that has sparked wide international protest. In early December, a pro-Taliban Pakistani cleric offered a reward of $5,800 to anyone who kills the woman in prison, angered by attempts of the local governor to save her life The governor of Punjab, Salman Taseer, spoke out forcefully for clemency for the Christian woman The governor was slain Many Pakistanis have come out in support of the governor's killer since the assassination nearly a week ago. Crowds showered him with rose petals and shouted supportive slogans during court appearances Yesterday tens of thousands of Islamists rallied in Pak...

The US Elections Bring the Taliban Christians Out From Under Their Stones
2010-10-26 15:24:00
Even from England I can see that the US election season has turned very nasty indeed. We're usually immune to it over here. We have no real idea what mid term elections are, and we pretty much don't care. Though, since the USA's politics affects us here, I wonder why I don't get a vote. Usually I stay well away, keep my opinions to myself and smile benignly at a nation going through a pretty
Colorado: Art Depicting Christ in Gay Sex Causes Christians to Riot, Many K
2010-10-05 17:00:00
-By Warner Todd Huston An art exhibit sponsored by the City of Loveland, Colorado that depicts Jesus Christ engaging in gay sex is causing some heartburn among local Christians. The piece by a 10-artist group going under the title, "The Legend of Bud Shark and His Indelible Ink," depicts Jesus receiving oral sex from a man. Christian groups have protested the exhibit and are pressuring the city to pull this particular piece from display in the museum. One of the reasons that Christians are asking that this piece be pulled is that the exhibit hall is open to all ages -- children included. Protesters point out the sexual, perhaps pornographic, nature of the art and contend it is unfit for...

Mimi Rothschild Asks “Why Do Christians Send Their Children To School
2010-04-22 15:48:00
Mimi Rothschild Asks “Why Do Christians Send Their Children To Schools That Teach Lies About God?” by Desert Rose Here is just a sampling of the lies about God, that are taught in most schools: The universe was not created. Radiocarbon dating that dated a live mud turtle in Arizona in 1961 to be 15,000 years old, is what they base many of the dates of living things on this earth and facts about evolution on. If our founding father’s believed in God, it was not relevant to their decision making when they put together our constitution. If it were relevant, it would be taught. That you can have morals without Jesus Christ. You don’t need prayer for help, just smarter people, better rules and stronger good guys. No one needs to fear God, just the bullies of the world. Christianity is just a religion just like all the other religions. Biblical history is not relevant, therefore it does not need to be taught. The problem that I have with this, is that the only so...

Video surfaces of Christians booing atheists at July 4 parade
2009-07-05 22:32:00
A 30-second independent video has surfaced from one of yesterday's parades.  News of yesterday's Christian scandal has spread across the country.  Carl H. Silverman, the "Rob Sherman" of Pennsylvania, sent me an e-mail with the link.  Carl gets on government officials in PA for violating state/church separation and illegally spending tax dollars on religion the way I do it in Illinois. Carl didn't make the video.  He became aware of it and sent me the following e-mail. ...
An extremely bad day for Christians
2009-07-05 00:45:00
Adult Christians completely embarrassed and humiliated themselves in front of the neighborhood children, today, in the Independence Day Parade in Arlington Heights.  Mount Prospect wasn't much better. The newly redecorated Sherman-ator and I appeared in parades in those communities, earlier today.  The mouths of Christian spectators were pathetic. Every few seconds, some Christian would heckle my vehicle and me with comments such as, "You suck!"  "Boooo, boooo!" and "F--- you!"  Some would give a thumbs down sign and many gave the middle finger salute with one hand while holding up a Christian cross in the other....
Must Christians Believe in Miracles?
2009-06-23 21:52:00
The four Gospel narratives are filled with examples of Jesus performing miraculous acts.  According to Matthew’s version, even his life began supernaturally, in that his conception was not the result of a sexual union. For most Christians, the picture of Jesus working miracles seems to be exactly what one would expect of a divine being -the ...
Bad Christians Not Welcome

Taliban-Inspired Attacks in Pakistan Hit Christians
2009-04-28 16:26:00
As Taliban control hits pockets of Pakistan and threatens the nation's stability, Christians worry their province could be the next to fall under Islamic law. Christians in Taiser town, near Karachi, noticed on the walls of their church graffiti that read, "Long Live the Taliban" and calls for Christians to either convert to Islam or pay the jizye, a poll tax under sharia (Islamic law) paid by non-Muslims for protection if they decline to convert.
North Korean Christians Question Regime?s Claims
2009-04-27 15:59:00
Even as the North Korean government this month allowed two high-profile, U.S. Christian bands to perform at a music festival in Pyongyang, the fear of punishment authorities have instilled in North Korean Christians keeps most of them from publicly revealing their faith. As many as 400,000 Christians are estimated to worship secretly in the country, and Suzanne Scholte, head of an association of some 60 groups campaigning for change in the country called the North Korean Freedom Coalition (NKFC), estimates that more than 200,000 North Koreans are held in political prison camps for various perceived "disloyalties" to the regime, including adherence to Christianity. Iran: Presecution Of Christians
2009-03-13 05:09:00
Found this great question an answer with the founder of Farsi Christian News Network. You can read the whole thing here.An interview with Saman kamvar, managing director of Farsi Christian News Network (FCNN) and Christian representative member of the Iranian Human rights activist committee. In recent years the Islamic Republic of Iran has systematically and often through violent, repressive, and anti human rights methods treated the Christian resident of Iran, especially those who have newly embraced the Christian faith and are Farsi speaking. Meanwhile, in view of the fact that Iran is named among the top three countries in the world accused of violating the human rights of its Christian population, the reactionary sensitivity of the government has increased in recent years. In the context of the recently committed acts of repression and persecution towards the Christians of Iran, discriminatory laws, systematic violation of human rights, and the recently proposed and approved by ...
Bauchi, Nigeria - New attacks on Christians despite curfew

Michael O'Rourke N. Msc sent a message to the members of Christian Solidarity World Wide.Dear friends,Attacks on the Christian community of Bauchi State in central Nigeria are continuing despite the declaration of a comprehensive curfew in the state capital. At least eleven people were killed and over 1,500 displaced, while 14 churches, eight vicarages, one mosque and numerous Christian homes were razed to the ground during a weekend of violence that centred on seven neighbourhoods in predominantly-Muslim Bauchi Town. The violence erupted after the burning of a mosque in the Railway suburb during the early hours of Saturday 21 February that was blamed on Christians. It is now believed to have been the work of militants seeking a pretext for violence in retaliation for events in November 2008, when rioting Muslims were shot dead for defying a government-imposed curfew in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.CSW has been informed by local sources that on 13 February, a COCIN (Church of Ch...

More on Why Evolutionists Would Make Good Christians

I've been thinking a lot lately on the the good that comes from those who adhere to the modern evolutionary view. We know stories of the caveman who hunted and foraged for food, warred against neighboring cavemen and tribes, and were generally more animalistic and barbaric than we are today. AiG?s Nine No-Good Reasons To Why Christians Must Bow To Their Dogma
2008-10-10 08:12:00
This is not dinosaur related but, worth noting. Answers in Genesis creationists in this article gives out about 9 reasons why should Christians reject the adhoc phrase “millions of years” and conform to their young earth dogmatic ways while ignoring empirical evidence which says there’s truth to the adhoc phrase. Written by Terry Mortenson for Ham’s updated Answers Book, these 9 no-good reasons are really no reasons at all. They’re just empty excuses made up to explain why Christians is to bow to their ways and be ignorant of the truth surrounding it and make them deal with controversies that’s really non-existent. To start off the article Terry writes, “There is an intensifying controversy in the church all over the world regarding the age of the earth. For the first 18 centuries of church history, the almost universal belief of Christians was that God created the world in six literal days roughly 4,000 years before Christ and destroyed the...

Christians in Texas Command Hurricane Ike to Stop
2008-09-12 02:41:00
A group of Christians from Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas, has decided to call upon the Almighty to stop the advancement of Hurricane Ike into Houston.  By beseeching the assistance of Jesus, the alleged son of God, they have "power and authority to affect the weather," says one churchgoer upon questioning. When asked how it came to be known that they possessed this extraordinary ability, the answer was simple: faith. While it may seem absurd to claim any knowledge of this power since it has not been borne out by evidence of any kind, faith is all the evidence these believers need. Rev. Caldwell, pastor of the church, says, "It is definitely by faith that we know that we have an impact." Their church recently held a prayer meeting in order to officially command Ike to cease and desist its approach into the Houston area. Some participants claimed to have calmed Edouard and sent hurricane Gustav into southern Lou...
It feels like Christians are being discriminated against
2008-08-17 07:59:00
..... the multiculturalizing of the law has given rise to a steady stream of conflicting judgments that appear to display bias against traditional British culture. To give but one example, last year, Lydia Playfoot, 16, lost her high court battle to be allowed to wear, at school, a Christian chastity ring, which she viewed as emblematic of her faith, and her commitment ? as a Christian ? to refrain from pre-marital sex. Recently Sarika Singh, 14, won her high court case to be allowed to wear a silver bangle, at her school, as part of her Sikh faith. Miss Playfoot?s told the BBC, after losing her case, ?At my school Muslims are allowed to wear headscarves and other faiths can wear bangles and other types of jewelry and it feels like Christians are being discriminated against.? And this sense of discrimination by the authorities is becoming widespread among the indigenous population of Britain.-A. US rivals try to woo Christians
2008-08-17 07:33:00
BBC says,'US presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama have been trying to woo Christian voters at a televised religious forum in California. The two men shared a stage for the first time since securing nomination.Speaking first, Mr Obama defended his support for abortion and same-sex civil unions, but said marriage should only be between a man and a woman.Republican John McCain affirmed he was pro-life and that he strongly supported preserving the status of marriage. At the beginning of the first hour-long interview, Mr Obama told the pastor that America's greatest moral failure was its insufficient help to the disadvantaged. The Democratic candidate noted that the Bible had quoted Jesus as saying: "Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me."He said the maxim should apply to victims of poverty, sexism and racism.Mr Obama also reaffirmed his belief that marriage should only be a "union between a man and a woman", although he also defended his support for sa...
Why Evolutionists Would Make Good Christians
2008-08-12 22:00:00
The war between Christianity and evolution has been ongoing for more than a century.  Christians who find it repugnant to suggest that humans came from apes, and atheists who find it superstitious that we originated from an unverifiable deity, continue to lash out at each other in hopes of rendering the other side's ideas null.  Unfortunately, animosity toward those who advocate various evolutionary theories is unnecessary.  In fact, there are many reasons why it is possible that Evolutionists (atheistic Evolutionists) could be better Christians than the run-of-the-mill strict creationist if they were to convert. Intolerant Christians
2008-06-21 17:04:00
There are those that believe that Christians, are bigots and prejudicial, because they are not accepting of homosexual behavior, as normal and morally acceptable. It is generally held that in order to not be considered bigoted and prejudicial, we must not only accept homosexuality as normal and natural, but must embrace it as well. It is not enough to simply be accepting and caring towards homosexuals- as people- we must also accept their sexual activity, without regard to what God's Word says on the subject. Having had this discussion more in depth than was initially intended, in the comment section of another post, I am now in a position to state fully what my position is, and what I feel is the position of fundamental Christianity as a whole. (This is my opinion only, and may or may not apply to all that identify as fundamental Christians.)I do not agree that acceptance of a behavior- any behavior- is necessary, in order to refrain from being a bigot or prejudicial. Nor do I thi...
Why Christians Practice Buddhism by E. Raymond Rock

The Bedroom Business Of Christians
2008-06-06 18:52:00
What Christians do in their bedroom is their business: By Nadine Thomas-Brown, Guardian Lifestyles Reporter - Nassau, Bahamas: Jamaican Dancehall artist Charmaine "Macka Diamond" Munroe says that what people do in their bedrooms is their own business. This comes a couple of months after she spoke to church members at City of Praise Church, Ajax St., at the invitation of Pastor Arthur Duncombe to speak at a seminar entitled "Angels By Day, Monsters By Night". Pastor Duncombe had to defend his actions on Joy FM's "Joy In the Morning" show with Kevin Harris, when he said he was helping wives to keep their husbands from being enticed away. Harris had taken exception to a secular artist being brought into what they viewed as sacred grounds. However, Duncombe's congregation, more specifically the women who had attended the conference, quickly jumped to the pastor's defense. "We have a lot of Christian marriages which are falling apart and sex is a very important part of marria...
