It feels like Christians are being discriminated against
2008-08-17 07:59:00
..... the multiculturalizing of the law has given rise to a steady stream of conflicting judgments that appear to display bias against traditional British culture. To give but one example, last year, Lydia Playfoot, 16, lost her high court battle to be allowed to wear, at school, a Christian chastity ring, which she viewed as emblematic of her faith, and her commitment ? as a Christian ? to refrain from pre-marital sex. Recently Sarika Singh, 14, won her high court case to be allowed to wear a silver bangle, at her school, as part of her Sikh faith. Miss Playfoot?s told the BBC, after losing her case, ?At my school Muslims are allowed to wear headscarves and other faiths can wear bangles and other types of jewelry and it feels like Christians are being discriminated against.? And this sense of discrimination by the authorities is becoming widespread among the indigenous population of Britain.-A. US rivals try to woo Christians
2008-08-17 07:33:00
BBC says,'US presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama have been trying to woo Christian voters at a televised religious forum in California. The two men shared a stage for the first time since securing nomination.Speaking first, Mr Obama defended his support for abortion and same-sex civil unions, but said marriage should only be between a man and a woman.Republican John McCain affirmed he was pro-life and that he strongly supported preserving the status of marriage. At the beginning of the first hour-long interview, Mr Obama told the pastor that America's greatest moral failure was its insufficient help to the disadvantaged. The Democratic candidate noted that the Bible had quoted Jesus as saying: "Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me."He said the maxim should apply to victims of poverty, sexism and racism.Mr Obama also reaffirmed his belief that marriage should only be a "union between a man and a woman", although he also defended his support for sa...
Why Evolutionists Would Make Good Christians
2008-08-12 22:00:00
The war between Christianity and evolution has been ongoing for more than a century.  Christians who find it repugnant to suggest that humans came from apes, and atheists who find it superstitious that we originated from an unverifiable deity, continue to lash out at each other in hopes of rendering the other side's ideas null.  Unfortunately, animosity toward those who advocate various evolutionary theories is unnecessary.  In fact, there are many reasons why it is possible that Evolutionists (atheistic Evolutionists) could be better Christians than the run-of-the-mill strict creationist if they were to convert. Christians: Help! The Gays Are Persecuting Us! News
2008-07-13 13:07:00
[From Pinke.biz] I’ve always struggled to understand the mindset of those opposed to gay marriage rights on religious grounds (which I’m quite sure is all opposed whether they realize it or not), but thanks to a new column in a publication called “The Christian Post” I have some insight:  they’re going to get persecuted. The Bedroom Business Of Christians
2008-06-06 18:52:00
What Christians do in their bedroom is their business: By Nadine Thomas-Brown, Guardian Lifestyles Reporter - Nassau, Bahamas: Jamaican Dancehall artist Charmaine "Macka Diamond" Munroe says that what people do in their bedrooms is their own business. This comes a couple of months after she spoke to church members at City of Praise Church, Ajax St., at the invitation of Pastor Arthur Duncombe to speak at a seminar entitled "Angels By Day, Monsters By Night". Pastor Duncombe had to defend his actions on Joy FM's "Joy In the Morning" show with Kevin Harris, when he said he was helping wives to keep their husbands from being enticed away. Harris had taken exception to a secular artist being brought into what they viewed as sacred grounds. However, Duncombe's congregation, more specifically the women who had attended the conference, quickly jumped to the pastor's defense. "We have a lot of Christian marriages which are falling apart and sex is a very important part of marria...

Egyptian Christians And Muslims Clash
2008-06-02 09:18:00
Lost in discussions concerning Israel and Muslim conflict is the less reported ongoing violence against Christians who live in the Middle East. Half of the pre-2003 Iraqi Christian population has fled the country due to violence by Muslims against them and their churches. Sectarian clashes are also present in Egypt where Coptic Christians continue to ...

Quotes of the Day
2008-05-27 16:30:00
Scary thoughts come in all forms, from all directions, and must be addressed before the thought is spoken, before the spoken word becomes action, before the scary becomes reality.  Or has it already? Christians should stop obsessing about how Christ died
2008-05-20 00:00:00
An atheist's in hair-splitting analysis about the significance of their savior's death is probably the last thing a bunch of Christ-worshippers want to hear. So, I say, let the hair-splitting begin! Now, let's see if I get this straight: God...

This is a tremendous victory for the advocacy efforts of the newly formed Chaldean Assyrian Syriac Council of America (CASCA). Representative Anna Eshoo, co-chair of the House Caucus said: "I'm pleased that the amendment contains $10 million for vulnerable Iraqi minorities. The needs of the Assyrians could not be greater…These families desperately need security, housing, jobs, schools and the chance to live in a sustainable community where they can openly practice their faith."Representative Joe Knollenberg, Caucus Member and Member of the House Appropriations Committee said: "I am proud to have helped deliver this needed assistance to our friends in Iraq. Question about Christians and evolution
2008-05-17 08:32:00
A letter from Linda WI am an ex-Christian; my brother is a fundamentalist Christian. We were discussing evolution again...He believes that animals evolved, but humans did not -- they were created. So, he believes in evolution, just not for people. I had never heard this viewpoint before and I thought I had heard them all. Is the new way for fundamentalist Christians to accept the fact of evolution, but just not for people? Has anyone else ever heard this explanation?
THE ATTITUDE OF HARDWORK
2008-05-16 23:35:00
It is human nature for every person to strive for success. However, success does not just happen. Success is a result of the application of certain principles. One of them undoubtedly is hard work. This is the attitude that distinguishes extra ordinary people from ordinary people. Extra ordinary people are willing to go the extra mile, do beyond what the ordinary person is doing and achieve what the ordinary person has not thought of. Proverbs 22:29 says, ?Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.? Over the years, I have come to realize the validity of this scripture through observation and experience. I have noticed that those who get the chance to receive awards, honors, and speak with C.E.Os, presidents and other great men have always exhibited the attitude of hard work. Recognition and honor does not just happen, it takes years of practice, determination and hard work to get there. I am sure y...
Card-Carrying Christians
2008-05-15 17:00:00
I posted this as a comment on another's blog and thought I should blog it here, the beauty of it is in its truth, as I see it anyway. I had been preparing some ribs for the smoker one Saturday morning and had blood from the meat on my hands when the Card-Carrying Christians again came knocking on my door. These aren't like other Christians I know, love and cherish as Family & Friends and whom I respect and they me. The Card-Carrying Christians I'm making reference to are the ones who travel in packs, moving door to door through a neighborhood handing out tracts like illegal aliens hand out hooker adverts on the Las Vegas Strip, and who pridefully display their Leather bound Gold Leaf Embossed Red Letter Edition Bibles containing only a select few of the original books and as if their status among their peers were based on the extravagance of their Customized Religious History Books. I could see the mob through the front window of the house standing...
Bush envisions a democratic Middle East free of oppression
2008-05-15 16:40:00
JERUSALEM (AP) - President Bush feted Israel on Thursday in honor of the 60th anniversary of its founding and predicted that its 120th birthday would find it alongside a Palestinian state and in an all-democratic neighborhood free of today’s oppression, restrictions on freedom and extremist Muslim movements. Delivering this rosy forecast for the Middle East in ...
All Christians are moral relativists
2008-05-12 08:29:00
By GeoffI tend to avoid writing about or discussing the topic of religion. In general, my unconventional views on the subject get me into a heated discussion with a zealous, but well meaning believer concerned with my eternal destiny or a mentally draining screaming match with a pretentious asshat who believes I worship Darwin and who seems convinced that atheism is just another religion (which is like saying that not playing sports is a sport). Despite this, I usually try to remain civil. After all, we are all entitled to believe whatever we want, right?HOWEVER! There are a few annoying arguments Christians use that quite frankly make about as much sense as a gay republican. Were I to go into all of them, I would be typing here for hours and hours. So, I will focus on one for now: Moral RelativityMoral relativity essentially states that analysis into whether an action is right or wrong should come from several facets of study, culture, context, usefulness, etc. This ideas lies in s...
Defeated Christians and Leaders
2008-05-11 16:54:00
The defeated?I am noticing as church attendance is on the decline an increased number of defeated christians and christian leaders. The leaders are let down by lack of church attendance, lack of offerings and some seem even feel let down by God Himself. Most of these defeated people at some point in time truly believed with all of their hearts that God was doing something big through them. These defeated people really believed that God was presenting them with great signs, wonders and financial provision to launch new movements. Many of these people even believed that God would use them to change the world. For many it started as a dream then lead to a Christian school and finally an ordination. These leaders worked hard, spent much time away from their families, wrote books and even traveled abroad preaching. They tried and tried, but only to fail or feel constantly defeated. Eventually many of these once passionate leaders feel let down by God and the people who surround their liv...

Supporting Iraqi Christians
2008-04-26 18:33:00
Encouraged by the Barnabas Fund (link in title) I have written to my MP and encourage you to do so also. Here is my letter'It may come a surprise to you to have a second communication from me in support of government policy. I have always supported the invasion of Iraq. In fact I think we should have done it when we liberated Kuwait. It would have saved Labour a lot of problems :-) So I am calling for more involvement there, specifically to protect the Christian minority who are being persecuted by those opposed to the occupation. In the eyes of good Muslims there is no separation of religion and politics. They wrongly see all Christians as supporters of the invasion. So Iraqi Christians who were no threat to Saddam are viewed as friends of the invaders and suffer with little apparent protection from the Coalition forces. They are being forced to flee their country. It is estimated that over one million Christians have fed the country since persecution started after the first Gulf ...
FAQ: Most Christians are Christians because they were raised that way. So
2008-04-25 09:31:00
One of the questions I keep getting asked lately is I think quite a legitimate one. And that is, ?Aren?t most Christians, Christians because that?s the way they were raised?? Mary Not A Virgin? Christians Aren?t Going To Like This.

"Devout Christians" Kill Children as Part of Exorcism
2008-04-22 14:00:00
It was on March 29 of this year when residents of Bangwe township in Blantyre, Malawi learned that two local women had allegedly burned two children to death to exorcise them of witchcraft demons. Agnes Kamanga Gadama, and her sister Catherine Kamanga reportedly suspected that Gadama's two children had been possessed by demons because "some neighbors were teaching them witchcraft" After a week of continuous prayers and fasting with the two children in an enclosed room, 9 year old Yankho and 6 year old Martin Gadama were found dead by police investigating the ritual. The two children had been locked inside the family home along with two other children while Gadama and her sister lit a fire that engulfed the building in smoke to drive away demons. Both suspects were devoted members of the Namiyango Assemblies of God and had reported the suspected witchcraft incident to the congregation. Representatives of the church group have expressed disbelief that the two women could have ...
Warning Christians at worship: punch up in Church of the Holy Sepulchre
2008-04-21 16:50:00
Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre turned into the equivalent of a pub free-for-all recently, with Greek and Armenian worshipers trading punches. Israeli police waded in to try and break up the warring factions. The fracas was set off when Armenian worshipers took it upon themselves to throw a Greek Orthodox priest out of the church.Palm fronds, traditionally used to celebrate the return of Jesus to the Holy City before he was crucified, were employed as weapons to beat the police officers. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is shared by various branches of Christianity, each of which jealously guards its turf. Ironically two Muslim families and their predecessors have long served as 'keepers of the gates' ... kind of like a neutral ref in a tense stand-off between competing factions. It is ironical in the extreme to learn that followers of "the prince of peace" beat each other up on the very site where many Christians believe Jesus was crucified and buried.Israeli police offer...

Reaching Out To Non-Christians
2008-04-16 07:00:00

Do Christians Intentionally Scare Non-Christians With Hell To Convert Them?
2008-04-05 18:08:00
One of the most oft-heard accusations of non-Christians against evangelism is that Christians are basically just using hell to scare many into becoming Christians. Is there justification for such an accusation, and do Christians really seek to scare non-Christians with hell? I’m going to say an emphatic “no”. Think about it this way: Christians know, from the Bible ...

Fall Out From Bush War-Iraq Christians Flee For Lives

The Christin right in America frequently expresses their belief that George Bush is a stalwart defender of Christian principles. German churches are now ...

Too many Christians - Not enough lions!
2008-04-03 17:26:00
Student Sues 'Anti-Christian' Teacher Over Remarks in Class A student and his family have filed a federal lawsuit demanding that a popular European history teacher at California's Capistrano Valley High School be fired for what they say were anti-Christian remarks he made in the classroom. And what were those "anti-Christian" remarks you ask? Farnan recorded his teacher telling students in class: ?What country has the highest murder rate? The South! What part of the country has the highest rape rate? The South! What part of the country has the highest rate of church attendance? The South!? The facts hurt. Of course the teacher left out a few like the highest rate of teen pregnancy and the highest rate of driving while drunk.
True Christians don't ...
2008-04-03 10:55:00
From GloriaI'd like to comment on your following statement:"My point is that many Christians who arrive here do not obey the dictates of their own religion. They post on this site with beams in their eyes howling at Dave to remove the speck in his. They claim a loving god and can neither give a convincing argument for the claim based upon the contents of their faith nor the example of their own behavior. They call Dave hateful and promise him nothing but Hell." -- ref1. There are many people who call themselves Christians. Christ lends respectability and the image of being a "nice guy" to a person's identify. Many people simply fake it. I suspect that many of the fakers actually believe they're Christians.2. True Christians don't write hateful e-mail. They do not condemn people to Hell. Please don't confuse charlatans -- who just want to argue (because your opinion differs from what they pretend to believe) -- with true Christians.God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and Salvation...
An American Warning - A message to ALL Christians.
2008-03-31 03:13:00
Three years ago, I released a paper called ?Islam on the Rise?. It covered how the increase in Islam would soon pass that of the Christians. I had about two hundred replies saying that just couldn?t be true and how I was crazy and a conspiracy theorist. My response? I laughed. Now I?ve said numerous times that the threat of radical Islam is far beyond real, I can?t even begin to lay out the map to show you. Let me explain.Keeping in mind that the goal of Islam to create a world wide unified Muslim community, you should know that the goals are currently being realized.Look at almost any Christian nation aside from the United States? the transformation is slow but steady. In England ? 2008 is expected to have ?Muhammad? be the number one name for newborn babies. This follows suit with Lebanon in the early 70?s which was once a very Christian nation? slowly taken over by the Muslim faith and now currently controlled. Which isn?t a bad thing if you are a male and currently Muslim. I fee...
Saudi King Abdullah: Jews, Muslims, Christians Must Diolog
2008-03-30 05:54:00
Sathya Sai Baba, 82 (although records suggest that he is older, see discussion and further links here, The Date of Sai Baba’s Birthday) has long said that he will cause, within his own lifetime, a profound coming together in peace and harmony among the world’s religions.  See, Will World Accept Sai Baba? He Says Yes. Very Soon When one looks at the Interfaith horizon, there are many players, and yet Sai Baba and his global Sathya Sai Organization are frequently conspicuous by their absence. A simple check with the organisational leaders of the Interfaith community will reveal all. ‘Divine’ Decline and Decline of the Showman ‘Emperor’   Sai Baba is now showing significant signs of dotage. His devotees - but not his worried minders! - ignore all the patently obvious signs of decrepitude. They claim e.g., that it is “all Bhagawan’s Leela” and that “Swami is simply testing us”, and display a range of rather saddeni...

2008-03-20 08:20:00
Easter will be "a time of great anxiety" for Christians in Indonesia, where radical Islamist have reportedly threatened to attack Christian targets. The Barnabas Fund, a charity working among Christians in Islamic countries, cited "credible reports" of threats against Christians by Jemaah Islamiah (JI), the terrorist network blamed for a number of bombings in Indonesia in recent years."Jemaah Islamiah is dedicated to creating a single Islamic state throughout Southeast Asia under shari'a law," the organization said in a dispatch on Tuesday. "It considers non-Muslims as legitimate targets and is active throughout the region."Prof. Zachary Abuza, a specialist on South-East Asia terror networks, said Wednesday reports of JI threats against Indonesian Christians this Easter did not surprise him."Sectarian violence was JI's bread and butter for years before they engaged in terrorist operations in Bali in October 2002," he said.Given the security force crackdown after the bombings, many ...
