Really Cool Christmas Trees
2008-01-11 03:43:00 Have you ever seen a pink Christmas tree? How about a black Christmas tree. My Gothic witchy wife would love that one. I don’t have room for a lot of Christmas trees in this house of mine but someday I hope to have a big beautiful house with high ceilings and lots of room for lots of Christmas trees. Treetopia has lots of different kinds of artificial Christmas trees. They have pink ones, red ones, black ones, white ones, silver ones, green ones, and even those really original upside down ones. They even back a black one on the site that has orange lights on it. They call it a black tiger tree. These are pre lit trees by the way with the lights already on them. They also have pre lit palm trees for those in tropical climates. The palm trees actually come in an interesting set of 3. They also carry pre lit wreaths and garland and Christmas tree skirts as well. They also have a tree that they call a Ginormous Christmas Tree which comes in heights from 15 to 25 fee...

2008-01-07 23:38:00 I personally think that the Artificial Christmas tree is really the way to go when it comes to the holiday season. I like to see the pine trees alive and outside - decorate them outside rather than cutting them down to only be able to enjoy for a month or so. And with ...

Cats and Christmas Trees
2007-12-30 06:48:00 It is that time of year when many families will be preparing to put up their Christmas trees. It all starts either by getting your tree out of the attic or storage place, or going and picking out the perfect tree from a tree farm or local store. No matter which way you start with, if you have a cat or two in the house you need to consider a few potential dangers when preparing this yearly ritual. The type of tree is important to consider, if you do not keep it in a separate room away from your cat. Live Christmas trees can be deadly to a cat. If they eat the pine needles they could puncture the intestines. Pine is also toxic to cats causing damage to the liver or death. An artificial Christmas tree is safer than a live one, but it can also cause blockage if it is eaten.I put up an artificial Christmas tree, not just for the safety, but also for the convenience of the clean up. It still takes more planning and preparation to keep the cats off and away from the Christmas tree.Start by ...

Where to Recycle Christmas Trees in Smyrna TN
2007-12-29 22:46:00 According to the Daily News Journal, Smyrna residents will be able to recycle Christmas trees at Lee Victory Park until January 14. Lee Victory Park is located on Sam Ridley Parkway in Smyrna, near the airport and golf course. Residents are asked to remove all decorations before recycling their trees. While you’re cleaning out the house, remember that there are Goodwill pick-ups at the county waste facilities off Weakley Lane and Almaville Road. This is a great time of year to get your tax deduction and do a good deed at the same time! Speaking of tax deductions, home mortgage interest is a great tax deduction offered by Uncle Sam every year. You can search for a new home from my website at http://www.terryrosshomes.com.-
Onions And Christmas Trees !
2007-12-27 04:37:00 A family is at the dinner table. The son asks his father, "Dad, how many kinds of boobies are there? The father, surprised, answers, "Well, son, there's three kinds of breasts. In her twenties, a women's breasts are like melons, round and firm. In her thirties to forties, they are like pears, still nice but hanging a bit. After fifty, they are like onions." "Onions?" "Yes, you see them and they make you cry." This infuriated his wife and daughter so the daughter said, "Mum, how many kinds of 'willies' are there?" The mother, surprised, smiles and answers, "Well dear, a man goes through three phases. In his twenties, his willy is like an oak tree, mighty and hard. In his thirties and forties, it is a birch, flexible but reliable. After his fifties, it is like a Christmas tree." "A Christmas tree?" "Yes, dead from the root up and the balls are for decoration only.

Artificial Christmas Trees Help save Trees
2007-12-20 18:16:00 The use of artificial Christmas trees may be taking in quite a number of criticisms but on the other side of the equation, it is doing the live trees a big favor. Christmas Trees Alaskan Style
2007-12-18 16:00:00 Alaska has beautiful mountains, rivers and glaciers--but trees? That's not really our forte. Oh we've got birch, cottonwood, alder and spruce in abundance but there's a reason you don't go down to your local tree lot hankering for a genuine, authentic Alaskan spruce. They're scraggly, they're threadbare, they're the mangy dog of the tree world and they're wonderful.Ever since I was old enough to remember Christmas our family has chopped our own Alaskan spruce for the holidays and can I say they're an acquired taste? Like so many things that grow from tradition though our trees may not be the runway models of the coniferous world (though they're emaciated enough to qualify) they have come to hold a special place in my heart as year after year we venture out into the Alaskan wilderness to lovingly select and harvest a tree for our home. This year was no different and Saturday we went out in search of The Tree, that one special tree that would serve as the honored symbol of ...

The Grinch May Have a Point . . .
2007-12-17 16:00:00 Okay so I have this friend who lives in a retirement home and she can't get around like she used to. She loves decorating her building for Christmas and, having an hour or so to offer her last week, I dropped by to help out.She hobbled down to the lobby where she pointed me to a large tree fresh from storage next to a big box of decorations and asked if I'd string lights. Now if you're like me, you could go your entire life without touching another string of Christmas lights and live very happily. Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays, love the look of the decorated tree but honestly? When it comes to putting on the lights the thrill is gone. Gone. But determined to be helpful I dug into the box where I found the world's largest ball of tangled lights. The kind that, if unstrung, would probably reach from L.A. to New York with stops in Boise, Dallas and Tallahassee. They really ought to have it on display somewhere, it's just going to waste in that box when it could be...

We're use to having our Christmas tree in our largest room of the house, which is usually the family room. Adding Christmas trees to other rooms as well will continue the celebration and joy throughout the home. Consider decorating a tree for each child's room. Most bedrooms are small so a small tree could be placed on the chest or dresser. Decorate the tree with or

Christmas Trees
2007-09-01 00:00:00 For years now I have been passing by those Christmas tree lots and wanting a real Christmas tree for our family. There?s nothing like a real tree to give your house that warm holiday feeling. But with my little car, I have no way to get the tree home if I did purchase one. Every year as the holiday season ends and we take down our artificial tree, I say, next year we are getting a real tree. I?ll find a way. I had no idea that there is such a thing as Christmas tree farm, they sell Trees, Wreaths, Garland, and Swag made from Pine, Fir, and Blue Spruce and the best part, you get them delivered right to your door. If only I would have known about Christmas tree farm and their nice selection years ago. My family would have been enjoying a real Christmas tree every year.

Weddings are to Marriage, as Balls are to Christmas Trees
2007-06-22 17:56:00 Like multi-colored lights, themed ornaments, and glass balls, the decorations on the tree serve no real function without the tree. The tree gives them a foundation; a purpose for their collective pretty display. Without the tree, the decorations are but random spots of pretty on the ground.Same is true of marriage. Without the legal foundation of a marriage, a wedding is but so much pretty stuff cast on the floor of a church, a reception hall, or another building. The ceremony is secondary to every part of marriage. In our modern age, marriage is a legal construct that protects love, family, and property. The love...The wedding...And the rest are merely incidental to the legality of the wedding. It protects those things, it is not those things in and of itself.Having just celebrated our 15 year anniversary, we are often asked "Why don't you go to Massachusetts and get married?"The answer to this seems so simple to me.Why would we?I don't need a ceremony to celebrate a love...

Christmas Trees Going Back Up at Seattle Airport
2006-12-13 03:12:02 By Janet I. Tu and Lornet TurnbullSeattle Times staff reportersThe holiday trees that went away in the middle of the night are back. Monday night, Port of Seattle staff began putting up the trees they earlier had removed from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The trees had come down Friday night after a local rabbi requested that a Hanukkah menorah also be displayed, and Port officials had said the threat of a lawsuit left them without enough time to consider all the issues. A nationwide furor erupted over the weekend as news of the trees' removal spread, with a flood of calls to Port officials and harshly worded e-mails to Jewish organizations. On Monday, Rabbi Elazar Bogomilsky said he would not file a lawsuit and the Port, in response, said it would put the trees back up. A menorah will not be displayed this year.
