Getting his shoes searched for speeding: check. Getting pulled over, then arrested for a faulty breathalyzer test: check. A laundry list of unfounded allegations: check. Having them all reported to his employer: that really sucks. Chris Henry was relieved of his position as Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver by the NFL yesterday after his fifth arrest in a period of three years.

2008-03-07 09:00:00 The Philadelphia Eagles have released 10-year veteran linebacker Takeo Spikes after only one season with the team. The Eagles got Spikes in a trade last year with Buffalo. Spikes was second on the Eagles squad in tackles with 139 last season. A first-round pick by Cincinnati in 1998, Spikes had at least 100 tackles in each of his five seasons with the Bengals. But it wasn’t until he went to Buffalo in 2003 that he got widespread recognition. Spikes had 144 tackles in ‘03 and 111 tackles with five interceptions in ‘04, making the Pro Bowl both years. Even though he has had some injuries in the past the two-time Pro Bowler is a high intensity, motor always running, play making linebacker that Bill Belichick loves. He fits the mold and as a former Bill, the staff in Foxboro is plenty acquainted with how Spikes plays the game. So the question is will the Patriots make a run at him?
