Urban Jungle Series Cityscapes BIG SALE on Overstock by PMILLER
2008-08-24 04:37:00 I'll be putting up a new painting everyday on Overstock from my Urban Jungle Series..Living in a city can be an intense, spontaneous experience. They pulse with light and activity. Cities are industrious and busy by day. At night, their mystery and lushness come alive. A city can stimulation your passion and all of your senses. In my cityscapes, I try to capture the electric colors, stunning skylines and interesting architecture that can be found when visiting an urban jungle. These paintings have wonderful pastel and jewel hues. You?ll get a hint of whimsy, however, I?ve added stark black lines and metallic/ neon acrylic paints to give them a modern edgy feel. My Urban Jungle paintings have been described as ?Modern impressionism with a twist?, and as?Colorful, Bold and Joyful!?.Here are just a few up now..A Glorious DayBid NowBefore DawnBid NowCity in PinkBid NowOriginal, Modern, Fine Art By Contemporary Artist, Pamela Miller. Roof Tops in Bordeaux, France
2008-05-02 20:08:00 Oil on 3/4" deep Hardboard6" high x 6" wide Click here to bid $250.00 + s&hThis past weekend we had a friend from Spain visiting us. He stayed with us the whole weekend and of course what better opportunity to drink wine than with friends! so on Sunday night to celebrate we opened a bottle of red wine from Bordeaux. If you haven't tried a wine from Bordeaux, any wine, make sure to get a bottle, they have really, really good wines! So as the bottle was being opened my mind was flying back in time and I remembered our weekend in Bordeaux. After the night was over I set up a hunt to find the pictures from Bordeaux from one of my upcoming daily paintings. I remembered taking a picture from the balcony of our hotel room. This is certainly not one of my typical cityscapes, there are no trees! but I just fell in love with it. It brings back so many good memories! and the realization that I do miss Europe.... who wouldn't!?* Questions? Comments? Post them right here or email me* Subscribe...
Purchasing Impressionist Cityscapes
2008-04-10 17:47:00 I have been looking for impressionist cityscapes in various mediums to decorate my home. I prefer to hang art that was created in the last fifteen years. There are so many great artists to choose from. I have decided that I want to have three impressionist cityscapes painted in acrylic. I will be purchasing one called Stormy Desert that was painted by an artist named JoanAnn. The piece is painted on a 40” X 30” canvas and has flowering cactus plants in the foreground. The next impressionist cityscape painting I plan to buy is called Tuscan Waterfall. The piece is a triptych and is on three gallery wrapped canvases. The artist lives in Tennessee and supports herself with her art. The last acrylic impressionist cityscape that I plan to buy is called Autumn Dream. Autumn is my favorite time of year and the painting captures every color of autumn. The artist painted the sides, so there is no need to have it framed. I can’t wait to see this hanging in my home. I h...

Vintage Blue
2008-01-25 00:28:00 Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas12" high x 12" wide Click here to bidWe visited Windsor, Canada two weekends ago, and as always, my camera -faithful companion- was with me. A cold winter day and quite a few nice shots for inspiration. As always we got lost driving in the city, and we had to stop to look at the computer (gps map) and while my husband was checking that out, I was checking this guy in front of a store that sells vintage cloth and used items. He was looking at the badly hanged vintage blue dress and it gave me the impression maybe he liked the dress for his girlfriend? This is a quick study in a large size though and I'm offering it for auction (click the link above to bid), although I'm not listing any large original paintings on eBay anymore this one will be an exception. The original painting which I'm working on right now, will be exhibited at the Sterling Heights, MI City Hall, February 1st. The exhibition will be open until February 22 and the opening reception wh...

The Bean - Chicago
2008-01-09 06:44:00 Oil on Gessoed Hardboard (Masonite)6" high x 6" wide Click here to bidMy last day in Chicago couldn't have ended without taking pictures of the famous Cloud Gate, better known as The Bean. A spectacular reflective sculpture in Millennium park that attracts thousands of visitors. I took tons of pictures of every angle and still I look at the pictures I took and I'm amazed at such a simple but incredible sculpture. I finished this piece not too long ago, the second for today, very loose and without much thinking or stopping in the little details.Questions? Comments? Detroit Water Tower
2008-01-08 01:09:00 Oil on Gessoed Hardboard (Masonite)6" high x 6" wide Click here to bidFor the first time since we moved to Michigan in February, 2006, I walked in Down Town Detroit. The reason why I didn't do it before? well everyone including the news say Detroit is one of THE most dangerous cities in the US, and according to the numbers extremely close to Caracas, Venezuela, so I got really scared to even dare going there by myself. So before Christmas my husband and I needed to go to the Canadian Consulate which is located in down town Detroit, so I took the opportunity to bring my camera and capture some snapshots of the small motor city. Compared to Atlanta, Chicago, Bilbao, Madrid, Miami, Paris and even Caracas, Detroit is a tiny city with a handful of tall enough buildings. Nonetheless a very interesting city. While walking the streets I came across this water tower and I couldn't resist to take a picture. I knew right there that it was going to be quite a challenge to paint this scene bec...

Trieste Shadows
2007-11-12 15:50:00 Oil on Gessoed Hardboard (Masonite)5" high x 7" wide Original painting or limited edition prints available, click hereThese are some shadows that I found curious about enough to take a picture of at the Castello di San Giusto (Saint Giusto Castle) right in front of the church before the cypresses path in Trieste, Italy while we were visiting my parents in 2004. The day was incredibly bright and the shadows were crisp and blueish in color right at the feet of those few steps.Questions? Comments? Peach pies for $10
2007-10-05 05:43:00 Oil on Gessoed Hardboard (Masonite)6" high x 6" wide Click here to bidAs I was walking by the town of Romeo, 20 minutes away from my home the weekend of Labor Day, everywhere in the town there were tents with all sort of goodies, from pies and sweets to handmade candles and crafts. Right across the street as I was waiting for the red light I saw these kids, a brother and a sister, promoting what seemed to be their parents goodies right next to their tent. The sign on the boy's hands read "Peach Pies for $10, peach flips $1, We'll bring them to you! Curb Side" written on a piece of card board. The boy seemed really tired and a little hot, but I thought it was really cute what they both were doing for their family.Questions? Comments? Post them right here or email me

Cloudy day at The Bean, Chicago
2007-09-17 22:35:00 Our last day in Chicago, and it had to rain! still that didn't stop me, I wanted pictures of the Cloud Gate (famously known as The Bean) before heading back to Michigan, so my husband left me right there on the highway and I started running towards the bean (I'm a fast runner by the way!) I took at least 50 pictures from different angles (I love my Canon EOS!) but of course all what the sculpture could reflect was the darkness of the sky, but still I think many of the pictures I took came out pretty good. I took this picture as I was approaching the bean for first time in my life, impressive structure by the way, people must have thought I was completely insane walking with the camera stuck in my face and shooting pictures like crazy! I went back to the car running as well as it started to rain and I didn't want my camera to get wet. What an amazing reflection this sculpture gives to the park. Now, I'm offering this painting with a Buy It Now option of $1,150.00 or you can make m...
I found something! - Charity Auction for Hurricane Katrina Rebuilding Proje
2007-09-09 22:32:00 Oil on Gessoed Board6" x 6" (15.2 x 15.2cm)Bid now for a good causeI found this girl on one of the pictures I took the Friday before Labor Day at the Stoney Creek park here in Michigan. My pictures are panoramic if you will and sometimes I capture many scenes with one shot which I later separate in my studio according to what I like. A girl playing in the sand and it looked like she had found something. What captured my attention about this scene was the soft light of 6:30pm gently but brightly illuminating the sand, the lake and the people still in it. The girl's hair wet and shinning with the light. This painting I'm listing it on eBay at auction for the Hurricane Katrina Rebuilding Project. What a better way to collect art than to help an organization and an effort that is really very much needed. So click on the link above and support this wonderful cause by bidding and winning this beautiful painting. If you can't bid, at least put it in your watch list on eBay so maybe it wo...
Labor Day Sales
2007-09-08 01:20:00 Oil on Gessoed Hardboard (Masonite)7" wide x 5" highBid NowLabor Day sales are a routine for us every year. Every year we would go to the closest mall no matter where we happen to live or be to take advantage of the "great sales" I guess that's how they advertise them. Tons of people and great opportunities to take pictures for reference. These two ladies happened to be walking through the parkinglot at the Birch Run Outlet Mall. That day was so incredibly hot and bright that the shadows everywhere were really crispy. Flip-flops, shorts and bags were in fashion for the day.Questions? Comments?
