Club 8 son Karolina Komstedt (letras) y Johan Angergard (música).los cuales guardan ciertas influencias que te recuerdan a Belle And Sebastian o a las mismísimos Depeche Mode.Por cierto atención a la dulce y espectacular voz de Karolina Komstedt, capaz de ponerte el vello de punta.Por Antonio Guerrero.Evidentemente todo lo que toca el sello Labrador se convierte en oro. Yo también quiero ser sueco.

2007-11-11 21:41:00 Provenientes de Suecia, la hermosa Karolina Komstedt (letras) y Johan Angergård (música), no son unos novatos en esto de crear melodías pop (que los "entendidos" podrían calificar de Twee o Dream pop).A comienzos de los '90, ambos integraron la banda "Poprace", tiempo en el cual decidieron formar paralelamente el dúo Club 8, logrando editar "Nouvelle" (Siesta Records) durante 1996. Desde entonces, han lanzado cinco discos más en intervalos de dos años aproximadamente.Por otro lado, Johan también forma parte de los grandes pero intermitentes Acid House Kings (un disco cada 5 años) y The Legends, bandas inspiradas en el pop británico de los sesenta y de la segunda mitad de los '80. 2007-10-02 01:03:00 Club 8 - one of the more darling acts on the Swedish Labrador label [link], brought forth their sixth album of lovely pop music last week (September 25th). Since the days of their first album 'Nouvelle' (pure twee indie pop) and their second album 'Friend I Once Had' (pure eurodisco kitsch), the band seems to have now comfortably settled within a world of dreamy indie-pop music.I've been giving the 'The Boy Who Couldn?t Stop Dreaming' some play-time this week and it gives off a whole lot of charm and lovely sounds. There?s not a whole lot of changes on the part of Club 8, but there are enough small refinements to make the album a must have for Club 8, or pure indie-pop fans. 'Jesus, Walk With Me', 'Heaven' and 'In The Morning' were definitely the best tracks on the album for me and I shall be playing them obsessively throughout the month no doubt. 2007-09-18 12:05:00 Después de cuatro largos años ocupado en proyectos paralelos como The Legends o Acid House Kings, el rubiales Johan Angergad vuelve a reclamar la presencia de la no menos rubia Karolina Komstedt, para grabar las doce preciosas canciones que contendrá el nuevo disco de Club 8 y que por fín saldrá a la venta el próximo día 26.Al escuchar por primera vez el disco nos mosquea encontrar una balada llamada "Jesus, Walk With Me" a la que le hemos cogido gusto con un par de escuchas pero que de entrada descoloca bastante; gracias a Dios (Jesús en este caso), con el siguiente corte "Whatever You Want" y con otros como "Heaven", "When I Come Around" o la que da título al elepé, recuperamos el sonido pop habitual y dulce de este mágico dúo sueco.Por Meltorm01. 2007-06-04 10:49:00 It?s been a while since a Labrador release has appeared here so without much ado this is the new single from Club 8. The duo have been around since the mid 90?s and are characterised by Karolina Komstedt?s dreamy vocals and the soft lilting acoustics that provide the velvet scaffolding (courtesy of Johan Angergård). ?Whatever You Want? is very impressive, a perfect summer release that is easy on the ear but also stands up perfectly to repeated exposure. As if to seal the deal 2007?s most huggable piece of whistling appears about midway in, waltzing in time with Komstedt?s dah dah do?s. Also included is an old one from the band called ?Spring Came, Rain Fell? which is typically as comforting as the news that Club 8 have a new album out this summer.
