Starbucks Takes a 3-Hour Coffee Break
2008-02-27 11:05:00 By MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUMFeb 27, NY TimesAt Starbucks stores across the country on Tuesday night, it was time for the corporate version of re-education camp.In its campaign to revive the intimate, friendly feel of a neighborhood coffee shop, Starbucks orchestrated the closing of 7,100 of its American stores at precisely 5:30 p.m. for a three-hour retraining session for employees. It was an exacting enterprise. At a store on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the drink-making employees, known as baristas, were told to dispense espresso into shot glasses instead of cups. They were urged to check the color of each shot. They were urged to pay more attention to the particularities of steaming milk.A handout labeled “Espresso Excellence” informed them that “without aeration, the milk screams and lacks sweetness.” And: “The perfect milk requires surfing the tip of the steam wand until the sound is SSHHHH.”Read more this news quotephoto: A training session on Tuesday at a Starbucks ...

coffee break
2008-01-09 18:24:00 yo, barista, where's my grande double-cream, low-fat steamed soy-milk beverage? oh, and i want it in a sippy cup; chop-chop. part of our routine involved a stop at one of the starbucks (i'm sure they're giving seattle a run for most locations per city block). we weren't ever asked to leave any, but we sure did take our time. we tried to time our visits so that zen could let off some steam through some exercise on the couches, while we got another shot of adrenaline to allow us to keep up with him. oh, starbucks, how we miss thee.

Coffee Break
2007-11-06 06:48:00 Would you care for a cup of coffeee? Thanks, I don’t mind if I do. What would I do without my coffee? I’d hate to have to drink something all day long that has calories; I sure don’t need that! And without the caffeine, I probably wouldn’t make it through those long nights when I am way behind on deadlines and the kids are finally asleep. Oh, I might be able to stay awake, but I wouldn’t be alert enough to get anything substantial done! Besides, I relish the flavor, the aroma, the warmth... y’all read about it a while, and I’ll go get another cup. The Language of Coffee. A coffee (or tea) mug with a color guide on the inside to make mixing easier. Coffee Drinks Illustrated. This will help you understand some of that Italian lingo only used at coffee shops. coffee break

Apparently, civets are careful to digest only the soft part of the cherries so that the hard grains inside come out fairly intact. That's very thoughtful of them, because that way people can have fun retrieving the coffee grains out of the poo, roasting them and selling civet coffee at exorbitant
