Communism Was Never a Monolithic System ? Nor Is Islam!
2008-06-25 07:08:00
Communism Was Never a Monolithic System — Nor Is Islam! One of the most useful lessons I learned resulted from my high school history teachers allowing me in successive years back in the early 1950s to do studies respectively of Stalin and Mao. There was not much written in book or journalistic ...
Cap and trade, freedom, and the collapse of our nation.
2008-06-04 04:23:00
America is in danger of collapse and I don’t say this lightly. I have believed in the exceptionalism of America for as long as I could understand what that meant. Five years ago, I would have told you that our economy will recover, that times will get better, and that freedom will prevail, but now I ...
Will Israel or the West last another 60 years?
2008-05-15 14:48:00
I have serious doubts that the West will look anything like it does today in 60 years. I mean demographically it will be significantly reduced in size due to war. First think about the rise of China and the re-emergence of Russia. Next think about the rise of Islam. These are the storm clouds forming ...
Nazism and Communism Are the Same, And Other Lies
2008-05-14 12:28:00
Updated May 15:This is from a list that I am a member of, and I am reprinting it here because the author, Joao Sousa, summed things up so well. It is sad that some very conservative folks back in the 1930's and 1940's (Winston Churchill was a deeply conservative Tory) understand the evil of Nazism and resolved to fight it.This was more or less par for the course for decades on the US Right. However, in the past 30 years, especially since Reagan, we have seen the growth of a fanatical, lunatic, profoundly extremist, narcissistic-antisocial rightwing, a rightwing that was traditionally relegated to the John Birch and Goldwater margins. With this seriously crazy rightwing has come many a weird and wild notion. One of these is that Nazism is actually a Leftist philosophy, that Nazism is socialist, and the Communists and fascists are blood brothers. It goes beyond the scope of this post to discuss Hannah Arendt's discussion of the similarities between the two ideologies - a good summary...
Could Bob Barr be the last best hope of conservatism?
2008-05-13 05:02:00
McCain’s latest comments about implementing tariffs against China and other countries for their “carbon footprint” should be a warning flag for the nation’s true conservatives. Liberal Democrats and Republicans have participated in live-for-the-moment economic policies that rival the “money handout” campaigns by Juan and Eva Peron Those policies eventually crippled the Argentinian economy. McCain’s economic and ...
Ideology?s Rude Return
2008-05-03 04:03:00
Many believe that when Chinese and Russian leaders stopped believing in communism, they stopped believing in anything. They had become pragmatists, pursuing their own and their nation’s interests. But Chinese and Russian rulers, like past rulers of autocracies, do have a set of beliefs that guide their domestic and foreign policies. They believe in the ...
Communism is Ideal for China
2008-04-27 04:00:00
Could you imagine 1.3 billion people living in democracy? I remember playing the game civilization wherein if you don't have the absolute resources and hundreds of billions to spend on people you cannot afford a democratic government wherein there are varying needs and rants that needs to be addressed. 1.3 billion people means 1.3 billion different aspirations, personal ambitions and views. A scenario which could be very costly in a democratic government.Communism assures that the general welfare of the state is protected and the needs of the citizens are addressed without actually adhering to every sectors demand at the same time. Competing needs and personal ambitions are checked by the state where otherwise it could lead to disaster and instability.I am not a fan of Chinese Communism for I believe that it is not the real communism in its concept. I am in favor of real democracy which is in fact a blend of communism and socialism. Democracy puts port collective effort and w...
At Least Marx Had Integrity
2008-04-22 12:15:00
An EARTH DAY SPECIAL from Churchill’s Parrot blog Granted Karl Marx was a bitter, self-loathing, misanthrope, half-crazed with envy and his own depraved world view, but at least he had integrity.  When advocating the implementation of his beloved communism, for instance, he made no attempt to sugar coat what would be required: ?The proletariat will use its ...
Note to Republican Politicians, Compromise does not Make You Better
2008-04-22 03:04:00
I just saw a commercial where Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich sit on a couch together and advocate “Climate Change” legislation. The funny thing is that we have not had a warming period for almost a decade. In fact most long term climate studies that propose a “Global Warming” scenario end in the 1990’s, which coincidently ...
Hillary’s Ties to Communism?

North Korea Fires Four Short Range Missiles into West Sea
2008-03-28 06:04:00
This just came in from the YONHAP News Agency out of Seoul, South Korea: … North Korea test-fired several missiles into the sea off the country’s west coast Friday…. The test, believed to be of Russian Styx missiles [range of 46 kilometers], comes one day after the communist nation threw out all South Korean government officials from ...
Lieberman-Warner Environmental Act Could Kill Economy
2008-03-28 00:50:00
The Hill is reporting that the Lieberman-Warner act could cost far more than Democrats are willing to let on. In fact, even after most of the up front expenses are taken care of, the EPA predicts that the bill would cost the U.S. economy $983,000,000,000 in a singe year (estimate for 2030). All this for a contrived ...
130 Dead in Tibet Protests, Leftists in America Still Pine for Communism
2008-03-24 13:35:00
While the leftists in America see fascist and totalitarian boogeymen behind every badge a cop wears, they still call for socialism and communism to take root in America. There is no doubt that the anti-war movement is run by communist sympathizers.
Islam and Communism
2008-03-15 12:52:00
"As we have already submitted, Islam stands for all that is good, healthy and desirable in life. It is the religion for all times, generations and societies but as the Islamic world during the last four centuries has been in a state of constant depression, the portion of the Islamic law dealing with economic problems remained static. Why shouldn't we then adopt Islam as a creed to edify our souls and purify thoughts and embrace communism as the economic system to solve our economic problems as it would in no wise affect our social set-up or any aspect thereof. We shall thus be able not only to safeguard our morals, social traditions and customs but also have at the same time one of the most modern economic systems of the present times to-resolve our economic problems"The reasoning such as this given above is a part of the diabolical game the communists are out to play now since a long time. To begin with, they adopted an aggressive attitude towards Islam in the East and cast vario...

Bring in the Replacements!
2008-03-10 03:42:00
Saturday’s Republican conventions may be a signal of a paradigm shift in Minnesota Republican political thought. Traditionally, the incumbent would receive the de facto endorsement of the party. Both Democrats and Republicans have enjoyed this undeserved luxury for most of our nation’s political history. Saturday’s caucuses have produced a much different result. Grass roots activists within their ...
More Attacks by Left Wing Radicals Go Uncriticized
2008-03-08 06:05:00
In the past week, there have been two terrorist attacks by radical left wing groups in the United States. While neither caused injuries to people, both seemed to be designed to terrorize and intimidate those who don’t submit to the leftist agenda. On Monday, three luxury “green” homes were set ablaze with explosive devices in a ...
Afghan Communism: Made in America
2008-03-05 08:06:00
March 6, 2008. All those Afghan communists were educated in the Soviet Union, right? Nope. Wrong answer. Actually, many of them were indoctrinated in the United States. Louis Dupree noted back in 1979 that, of the 14 civilians in the first Afghan communist government cabinet, exactly zero had been educated in the Soviet Union. Where were they educated? Here’s a breakdown: Egypt: 2 Western Europe: 2 Afghanistan: 4 United States: 10 Martin Ewans wondered aloud whether the policies of these cabinet members would have been different if they “had the privilege of an education at Lumumba University in the USSR” (Source: Martin Ewans, Afghanistan: A Short History of its People and Politics. 2001: 188) Outside of the cabinet, in the highest office in the land we have, for a time, the enthusiastic communist Hafizullah Amin. Amin earned his MA at Columbia University, dropped out of a PhD program there and then later earned a spot on a list of “Columbia’s 10 wo...
Czech President stands against EnviroCommunism

President Klaus understands the world that we live in better than most. He lived through communism and has life experience in being under governmental ...
Rumble: Gorbachev and Louis Vuitton. The end of communism as we knew it. Or
2008-03-01 18:48:00
Apparently this ad has been around for a while, but I only noticed yesterday, spread over two pages of the Alitalia inflight magazine: Former Soviet leader and USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev now makes publicity the French luxury label, Louis Vuitton. The ad shows Gorbachev in a car with a Vuitton bag at his side. The picture is rather dark, suggesting the gloomy ages of the Cold War and Communism. Gorbachev looks through the window at the Berlin Wall, depicted in the background. There is an interesting twist to the whole thing:Poking out of the bag is a publication with the headline (in Cyrillic): "The Murder of Litvinenko: They Wanted to Give Up the Suspect for $7,000.", referring to Alexander V. Litvinenko, the former KGB spy who died last November after being poisoned with a radioactive isotope. On his deathbed, Litvinenko accused Russia's President Vladimir Putin of orchestrating his murder. The British authorities accused one of Litvinenko?s associates, Andrei Lugovoi, of the ...
More talk of global cooling

Snow in Jerusalem, more frequent subzero temperatures in the Midwest, record levels of sea ice in the Antarctic, and so on. What does this mean? Well, lets dispense with the obvious first. Communism in Cyprus
2008-02-24 18:01:00
‘Communist’ on course for Cyprus poll win I’m not sure how to view this. I’m very liberal by American standards, but extremely right-wing by European standards. I don’t yet understand the local politics here in Cyprus, so I don’t have much of an opinion on this election as far as specific issues go. ...
This is Communism
2008-02-20 13:10:00
Surber, this morning reports that FIdel Castro is among other things, in possession of about $900 million.  Lessee… $900  Huge. Do you suppose that this qualifies as Communism, under the definitions that Marx originally laid down? So, not oly have the people of Cuba been suffereing under Communism, but the man who caused it all got rich. Yeah, that’s fairness, the way the left would have it… But wait… aren’t ‘the rich’ the enemy?

Beijing. Are you sure this is Communism?
2008-02-20 09:49:00
Where is he gay today? The Shiguan Mountains, north of Beijing.Shen Jingdong: part of the Hero Series. Not sure of the date."While we admire our heroes, we should question them, too."?We have not renovated ze Great Wall of China?, says Benjamin, our hotel tour guide. ?You can see renovated parts outside ze grounds. Buses go zere, eet eez like, ?ow you say, EuroDisney.?We can forgive him a little snobbery. Benjamin, a French-speaking Swiss, studies at that posh hotel management school in Lausanne. For his first internship, he started at the top?a tour guide for the Commune on the Great Wall, an hour north of Beijing. Our last visit to Beijing proved so miserable, my boss and I decided we would stay outside the city. The Commune consists forty-six villas nestled in two rocky valleys, it claims to be the largest resort in the world. Each villa houses around six guest rooms; the conceit is that strangers must live together, like a real commune. This is nothing more than a conceit, since ...
Fidel Castro steps down from Cuban Presidency
2008-02-20 00:34:00
BBC - The 81-year-old Cuban leader announced early this morning in a letter published on the website of the Cuban Communist Party’s newspaper, Granma, that he will not be accepting another term as President. Castro has been in power for 49 years, though his brother Raul has held the reigns since July 2006, when Castro ...
Adeste Fideles
2008-02-19 23:14:00
"Castro knew life is a stage and played the part of the dashing revolutionary coming to New York, getting rock star treatment." ABC's Diane Sawyer enveloped in the rapture of Fidel Castro. NewsBusters Barbara Walters had her way with Fidel (or was it the other way around?) the first time in 1977 when the then-48 year old Tee Vee star decamped in Cuba to interview the 51-year-old Castro. She had a couple more gos at him before handing down the Machiavellian charmer to Diane Sawyer. I understand how Babs could've fallen for the swarthy hirsute hunk noted for his catting around setting off a domestic Cuban missile crisis with the missus. Or how Diane Sawyer was swayed by Fidel's commie charms. My unrequited crush is still on the former Soviet Union prez Mikhail Gorbachev. El Commandante had enjoyed 18 years manipulating American liberal political and media elite and he played his adoring sycophants like a Stradivarius for the next 30 years. Barbara Walters, in a scene right out of a...
Cuba Libre? Not Yet, But Getting Closer
2008-02-19 21:49:00
Hurrah! Fidel is stepping down. Bloody big of him, since he has been mostly out of the picture for nearly two years. But before we break out the party hats, his ‘little’ brother, septuagenarian Raul, is no Thomas Jefferson. It’s still all in the family where Cuban dictators are concerned. I’m ...

Chinese Communism Versus Inflation
2008-02-11 09:24:00
Very interesting article, entitled, "China returns to communist-style controls to cool inflation in market economy," in the International Herald Tribune on the efforts Beijing is making to try to cool China's inflation. Will it work? I wish it would, but I don't think it will. Ariana Eunjung Cha at the Washington Post has an interesting article, entitled, "Rising Costs in China Seep Into U.S. Market: Importers Pay More or Cancel Orders," on how manufactured goods prices in China just keep rising and on how some are opting out for other countries like Cambodia.

McCain does not Make Sense for Soldiers
2008-02-04 06:13:00
I have heard it time and time again: “John McCain is good for the war… John McCain is good for the soldiers…” Let me assure you that John McCain will be bad for our troops, our long term military success, and and future of America. If all a nation required was military success, we would be ...

Christian love, which applies to all, even to one's enemies, is the worst adversary of Communism. --Nikolai Bukharin, _Pravda_, March 30, 1934From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an Iron Curtain has descended across the Continent ... The Dark Ages may return on the gleaming wings of science. Beware, I say. Time may be short.--Winston Churchill speaks at Fulton, Missouri, on 5 March 1946Revolutions, like trees, must be judged by their fruit," Ignazio Silone wrote, and this is the standard the authors apply to the Communist experience--in the China of "the Great Helmsman," Kim Il Sung's Korea, Vietnam under "Uncle Ho" and Cuba under Castro, Ethiopia under Mengistu, Angola under Neto, and Afghanistan under Najibullah. The authors, all distinguished scholars based in Europe, document Communist crimes against humanity, but also crimes against national and universal culture, from Stalin's destruction of hundreds of churches in Moscow to Ceausescu's leveling of the hi...

Researchers Predict Ice Age Around the Corner
2008-01-26 17:20:00
RIA Novasti is reporting the following: “Russian and foreign research data confirm that global temperatures in 2007 were practically similar to those in 2006, and, in general, identical to 1998-2006 temperatures, which, basically, means that the Earth passed the peak of global warming in 1998-2005,” said Khabibullo Abdusamatov, head of a space research lab at the ...

2008-01-26 00:14:00
Last year, a documentary came out that should have gotten much more attention. They pointed out the fallacies in a lot of the global warming arguments. It came under heavy criticism by environmentalist (much like Al Gore’s movie, which came under heavy criticism by realists). The documentary I am referring to is entitled “The Great Global ...
Experts say we are not running out of oil?
2008-01-25 05:14:00
A survey of more than 800 oil fields has led to the conclusion that we are in no danger of running short on oil.  Cambridge Energy Research conducted the survey. They believe that oil production could grow from 85 million barrels a day to 100 million barrels and still be ok. Besides the existing oil capacity, ...
