Zach Arnold at FightOpinion has called the 3rd Sengoku event "the Mystery Sengoku Event", pointing to the fact that there has been very little publicity surrounding this event. I have to agree with him... Maybe its just too close to Sengoku 2? After Sengoku 1 everyone was singing WVR's praises, but the momentum seems to have shifted towards DREAM.This weekend Sengoku will hold their first event on a really big stage, filling the Saitama Super Arena is not easy. It will be intersting to see if they are able to compete with the attendences DREAM has put up.For the record, here are the attendences for the first 3 DREAM events (all were held in Saitama Super Arena):DREAM 1 - 19,120DREAM 2 - 21,397DREAM 3 - 21,789The card for this Sunday looks interesting and does have some big Japanese stars, but does it draw the crowd the same way the DREAM cards have? Why Jacoby Ellsbury Can Compete...a Dude with Duende
2008-04-22 10:30:00
It matters little whether we talk basketball, baseball, football, checkers, or chess...strength up the middle remains a precursor for success. I have no interest in reputation over production. And I do not believe in enshrining unproven players in the pantheon of greatness. But I do believe not only in Platonic but Aristotlean truth. The simple truth reveals itself day by day, that Jacoby Ellsbury can compete with the best in the American League for an All-Star outfield berth. At 24 Ellsbury has the raw athletic tools with an incomplete skill set for greatness. Yet even an embryonic Ellsbury produces. Despite an early season platoon in Boston's outfield, Ellsbury is second in the AL in runs scored (16), second in stolen bases (8), and his .444 on base percentage would be among the league leaders if he had sufficient plate appearances. Even with training wheels technique on the bases, Ellsbury is on pace to steal nearly 70 bases, something unheard of in station-to-station baseball Bo...

Obama: She should be able to compete
2008-03-29 22:46:00
Just a day after Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy seemingly “nudged” Hillary Clinton out of the race for fear of dividing the party ahead of a general election fight against John McCain, Barack Obama said Hillary Clinton ?can run as long as she wants.? ?She should be able to compete, and her supporters should be able to support her as long as they are willing or able,? Obama said. Obama said the notion that the party is divided is ?somewhat overstated.? But he said Democrats must pivot quickly to the general election after the primary contests end in June.
