Finally someone has gotten their hands on this thing, and we've got to say -- it looks pretty handsome (even if it is a rebadged, recolored MSI Wind, and a dead ringer for the Mini-Note). Specs seem unchanged, with a 10-inch 1024 x 800 display, 80GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, and a 1.3-megapixel webcam, and the price appears to be holding at €399 (or about $630) as well. This curious computer was spotted plopped unceremoniously in a corner at Computex by PC Perspective. They report that the unlabeled machine's camera -- installed right at the top of the monitor bezel -- rotates and that the projector's performance is uncertain given the show's bright conditions. If this is something other than a floor prototype, we're awfully curious about battery life. Until then, we'll just have to fantasize about portable PowerPoints of doom. 2007-06-10 09:47:00 Las compañÃas de China podrán estar en Taiwan en el evento de Computex 2008 el año que viene según ha comunicado este sábado Walter Yeh, Vice Presidente ejecutivo de desarrollo del comerci exterior de Taiwan. China y Taiwan se separaron en 1.949 durante una guerra civil, desde entonces ambos no han tenÃdo ningún tipo de relación (incluida la comercial), y China además ha amenazado con atacar a Taiwan en varias ocasiones. Asà mismo Walter Yeh ha aprovechado para anunciar el éxito de este evento en este año con cerca de 103.000 visitantes. En la feria de Computex de 2.008 también piensa aumentar el número de cabinas para empresas ya que con las 2926 de este año se quedaron un poco cortos, el aumento es considerable ya que instalaran en el evento del año que viene unas 4500. The key "enthusiast" memory vendors at the show in the shadow of the world's tallest building are pushing the limits with what they have in hand. Fortunately, the focus is on both latency and bandwidth, not just pure GHz. Corsair's Hyatt demo suite featured its DDR3 DIMM pair running at a nice round DDR3-2000 speed, with CL 10-10-10, yet another nice round number. Again, it feels tough to get used to double-digit latency numbers, but well, the net nanosecond latency is the same as DDR2-800 CL4-4-4, so not that bad over all. GEIL's demo didn't run so high in the frequency department, but the latency was quite impressive: DDR3-1500 CL 6-7-6, with net latency time even lower than the Corsair part.Source: The Inquirer
