The way AIG valued credit default swaps, including those backed by subprime mortgages, is at issue, the newspaper said. Prosecutors from the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. attorney's office in Brooklyn, New York have asked for information the SEC is gathering, which could signal a criminal investigation, the newspaper said. AIG, the SEC, the Justice Department and the U.S attorney did not immediately return calls seeking comment. Indonesia's state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) said Friday it has awarded contracts to build two coal-fired power plants worth about $890 million to two groups. PLN president Fahmi Mochtar said Sinohydro Corp. was awarded a contract to build the Nagan Raya power plant in Aceh province. The other contractor, a consortium consisting of China National Machinery Corp, China National Electric Equipment Corp. and local company PT Penta Adi Samudra, was awarded a contract to build the Tanjung Awar-Awar plant in East Java province, Mochtar said. He said the Nagan Raya plant will have two generators with capacity of 110 megawatts each and will be completed within 24 to 26 months. The Tanjung Awar-Awar plant will also have two generators each with the capacity to generate 350 megawatts and will be completed in 33 months. I touched on this last year, but since the league has no intention of coming up with a solution (which is good news for Jake Long), I’ll rant about it again. For those who think it’s a good deal for Miami, take a look at the offensive lineman who have been drafted in the top 5 since 2001: Joe Thomas, Levi Brown, D’Brickashaw Fergeson, Robert Gallery, Mike Williams, and Leonard Davis. Orlando Cabrera Contracts Talks Will Wait

According to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, the White Sox will not have further contract discussions with shortstop Orlando Cabrera until after the season.  While an extension is still possible at that time, the chances seem to decrease as he reaches the cusp of free agency.  Often when a guy is that close, he'll then say he wants to explore the market. Cabrera makes $9MM this year, with the Angels paying $1.5MM.  It's a solid price for the Sox, but Cabrera has to be looking for three years and at least $20MM.  He'll turn 34 in November, so it'd be a risky move.  Alexei Ramirez is the only viable replacement in the organization, but he's no sure thing.  Kenny Williams could consider other free agent shortstops, of which there are a handful of decent options. Gonzales' article also has one line about the Sox waiting until season's end to consider an extension for Joe Crede.  An extension would surprise me, but I could see them sticking...
