Criminals In The Bush Administration
2008-01-03 17:00:00 By- Suzie-Q @ 11:20 AM MST TPM´s Great List of Scandalized Administration Officials Boy, was it time for an update. Late last year we decided to take stock of all the Bush Administration officials who’d been accused of corruption and/or resigned in the face of scandal. Although we had fun doing it, we altruistically started the ...

Howard "Cookie" Krongard Has Resigned
2007-12-09 21:43:00 We actually have some good news today! Howard "Cookie" Krongard, the corrupt State Department Inspector General whose indescretions included:Lying to Congress about his brother, Alvin "Buzzy" Krongard, serving on the Blackwater board of directors at the same time that Howard "Cookie" Krongard was supposed to be investigating Blackwater in IraqStonewalling investigations into slave labor used to erect the enourmous United States Embassy in IraqAllowing the State Department to replace a legit audit of their finanicial dealings with a "clean audit" - twice- that looked better for the State DepartmentHas resigned from his position as the person in charge of oversight in the State Department! This is a good thing, and I'm going to take a day to enjoy it. However, our next task needs to be making sure that he's not just replaced by another "loyal Bushie".For the moment though, feel free to be happy about having a little less corruption in our government.
Cookie Krongard - “I know nothing”
2007-11-20 23:28:00 Re-posted This would be funny if it weren’t true. This is yet another Bush Administration scandal. This is the story of Cookie and Buzzy - brothers. Cookie Krongard is the Inspector General at the State Department. Buzzy is the brother who sits on an advisory board of Blackwater. It just so happens that the Inspector General’s office is investigating Blackwater. Cookie was in front of a House committee and didn’t even know, so he said, that his brother was being paid by the very same guys who he is investigating. Yep, I don’t believe him either. Look for Henry Waxman to throw a contempt citation on Cookie. Update: Buzzy Krongard has resigned. Update II: Buzzy Krongand was the #3 official at the CIA during 9/11. He was instrumental in helping Blackwater get its first contract witht he CIA in the 2002 according to the book, Blackwater. It turns out that Buzzy and Erik Prince the CEO of Blackwater are good buddies. Jeremy Scahill, author of Blackwater,...
Howard "Cookie" Krongard - Update
2007-11-20 05:41:00 Since I wrote this post about the House Judiciary Committee hearing during which the State Department Inspector General Howard "Cookie" Krongard quite possibly committed perjury, there have been a few new developments:In addition to recusing himself from any investigations involving Blackwater, which he did during the House Judiciary Committee hearing, Howard "Cookie" Krongard has also recused himself from " looking into corruption allegations involving the construction of the new U.S. embassy in Baghdad". Henry Waxman, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has requested another hearing, to take place during the week of December 3rd, this time to determine if Howard "Cookie" Krongard's November 14th testimony was actually a bunch of lies (the odds are not in Cookie's favor, from what I've observed). Howard "Cookie" Krongard's lawyer has written to Henry Waxman asking that he cancel the hearing. Good luck with that. Howard "Cookie" Krongard's brother, Alvin "Buzzy" Krongard...

Howard "Cookie" Krongard: Likely A Liar
2007-11-15 02:23:00 Today’s Government Oversight and Reform Committee hearing revealed that the State Department Inspector General, Howard “Cookie” Krongard, is likely just another dirty Bush Administration guy. One of the two most dramatic revelations of the day was that Howard “Cookie” Krongard’s brother, Alvin “Buzzy” Krongard, is currently serving on Blackwater’s advisory board. The obvious conflict of interest that arises from the Inspector General of the State Department having a family member working for Blackwater, a company his job involves overseeing, is bad enough. But what was most revealing, and disturbing, is the way the Committee confirmed this information. When Alvin "Buzzy" Krongard's relationship with Blackwater was first mentioned in the beginning of the hearing today, Howard "Cookie" Krongard flat-out denied his brother had anything to do with Blackwater. He went out of his way to say, “One thing just came up that really does bother me and that was an alleg... |
