With the cricket world cup round the corner, scammers will try to trick as many online users as possible.” Thomas also pointed out that cyber scammers attempt to take full advantage of the fact that Indians are mad about cricket. Watch Live Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2011 Videos On Your RCom Mobiles
2010-10-14 05:44:00 Its still over 4 months to go for the coveted Cricket world cup 2011 to kick off but announcements of digital tie ups have started to pour in already. In the first of many series of such announcements to follow comes from Reliance Communications which is the ‘Global Partner’ for world cup 2011. At a preview of the trophy organized in mumbai it was announced by Reliance that it would be providing audio and video content on both 3G and 2G platforms during the ICC CWC 2011. Recently at the 3G auctions Reliance Communications won the license to offer 3G services in 13 key circles including Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata and given that this diwali is when most operators would be banking on launching their 3G services its seems likely that the Worldcup will be a big hook for Reliance to win 3G subscribers. Reliance Mobile has over 115 million customers and with cricket as a bait its likely quite a few will bite the 3G bait. Reliance Mobile will show match highlight footage for ...

Pakistan wins the 2009 Cricket World Cup
2009-06-22 01:36:00 Firstly, let me just say that despite my great love for participating in most kinds of sports and physical activities, the thought of watching a match from the couch doesn't quite appeal to me (well, maybe with the exception of the FIFA World Cup). And when it comes to Cricket, I have neither the patience, nor the will to sit through a whole match. But this post is about the only spot of good news that this nation has seen in a while. It comes after a long and bitter spell of the last few years, filled with the news of war, suicide bombings and all kinds of catastrophes. As usual, I found other stuff to do during tonight's Cricket World Cup Final. I didn't even know who we were playing against until after it had started, but the final victory was instantly apparent as screams of joy and a roar of fireworks went up all around my area. Pakistan had won the final match against Sri Lanka and were this year's world champions. Even after midnight, the streets of Islamabad were li...

I am loving the each game played each ball bowled this summer... It's a fantastic feeling... A real treat to watch, What made this tourney Sooo special?? 1) It's been a fantastic exhibition of Quality Cricket, where players are bringing their best in each game .. 2) Irrespective of nation, cadre and experience we are able to see players complimenting and collaborating each other. For example -- Ricky Ponting Congratulates Wridhiman Saha after a stupendous catch at eden gardens. I don?t think ever in his life time, the young lad would have imagined standing next to the legendary Ricky Ponting. 3) Young Guns are all set to make the difference, take a look at Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Sangwan likes... It?s absolutely brilliant to give this folks a chance to perform at this level .. who has shown some promise and d...

Indoor Cricket World Cup Finals Day
2007-09-29 23:17:00 South Africa and Australia contested both the Women's and Men's finals today, on the final day of the 2007 World Cup, held in Bristol, England.Women's FinalAustralia, who had reached the Final by defeating England, batted first and were restricted by some tight bowling and good fielding in the early overs. However, after that tight opening, they progressed steadily, and South Africa, despite continuous hard work and effort were unable to keep the Aussie Women in check. Australia eventually posted 138.South Africa, who had defeated eventual Bronze Medal winners New Zealand to reach the final, started confidently and were easily ahead of the comparative score after the first few overs. However, Australia were again able to gain the upper hand in the middle overs, this time in the field. With a 5 run deduction to the score for every wicket that falls, South Africa faltered, losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite some big hitting by the last South African pair, the damage had b...

T20 Cricket World Cup
2007-09-18 10:38:00 What will the status of the Twenty20 World Cup winners be when they emerge victorious from the tournament this month? It might sound an odd question, but think about how absurd it would be in any other sport. Imagine that six months after the FIFA World Cup, another tournament, also called the World Cup, was played with pretty much the same teams fielding pretty much the same players in a pretty similar tournament format with pretty similar viewing figures (both at the grounds and on the telly), but with 45-minute matches rather than the full 90. I'm not questioning the existence of T20, because I love cricket...read more

The Beautiful Game! After 48 glorious days of being glued to the television watching so many great games, we have now reached the climax of the tournament. I have some great memories of this Cricket World Cup and I also have to add a couple of teams to my list of favourites. For me the real heroes of the tournament were the Irish. They came to the Caribbean with no fear or doubt, they were not supposed to last the first 2 weeks, and they were supposed to be one of those teams that the other high-ranking teams use for target practice. But the Irish had other plans in mind. They caused a huge upset by beating Pakistan in their second game and then went on to beat Bangladesh later on in the tournament. I enjoyed watching Ireland so much because they showed great character and determination. Whether they won on the day...
