Criminal Law
2007-07-15 06:34:00 Ok... As many of you know I am getting ready to take the Texas Bar Exam in about a week. Needless to say, I am a little tense. In any event, I have been working on exam problems for weeks. I came across one problem and answer that struck me as bizarre... (Mind you the result is based off of a PMBR question. It is not identical because it is being taking from the top of my head....)Basic Storyline:Martin goes over to Brad's house to watch the Superbowl. As they are watching the Superbowl, Brad gets up and leaves the room. When he returns he is extremely hyper for awhile and then becomes really mellow. Brad will then leave the room again and when he returns he is hyper again. Martin begins to suspect something. After the halftime show, Brad gets and goes to the restroom. Martin goes outside where Brad originally would leave. Martin notices the door to the outdoor shed is slightly ajar. Martin enters the shed and looks around. Dealing with Prosecutors in the 30TH Circuit Hallway
2007-06-05 06:13:00 I was so surprised years ago when I started a private practice and learned quickly the way the prosecutor and defense attorney communicate about cases right out in the open in the hallway where everyone can listen and hear the private information about defendants and their families. I went to a pretrial hearing in defense of a 10-year-old black boy who was charged with a felony (breaking and entering or something along those lines). I could still count the number of cases I had at that time. The boy was from Lansing, Michigan and had no prior criminal history. (You're thinking of course, he was only ten, right?) He had been in the wrong place at the wrong time - with his older brother and his friends. The boys were invited over to a girl's house when her parents were out. She had other girlfriends over and the group was doing what 13 and 14-year-old kids do. My client was seen in the driveway looking out down the street. He was checking to see if the parents were coming...

The charges could vary from possession of narcotics, assault, homicide, burglary, or rape, to mention only a few. Fort Worth has a host of choices when it comes to hiring the services of attorneys handling criminal cases. It is always better to hire the services of criminal attorney or a legal firm that has been certified in criminal law by The Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Such certifications speak volumes about the standing of the attorney or the legal firm you are investigating. It is also prudent to consult any of your friends who may have hired the services of criminal attorneys previously. The best thing perhaps is to get a referral from the criminal attorney you are going to hire. The referral may be able to give you a fair idea about the capabilities of an attorney.Criminal cases are sometimes complex and long driven cases which so...
