Cutler Critic Mora Doesn't Have a Podium to Stand On
2009-09-17 06:37:00
Jay Cutler continues to take heat for every move he makes on and off the field.  Even the way he carries himself in his postgame press conferences is dissected 100 different ways.  Former Saints and Colts coach Jim Mora Sr. openly criticized Jay's demeanor after Sunday night's loss to the Packers:Mora, the former Colts and Saints coach and the father of current Seahawks coach Jim Mora, said on the NFLN that Cutler "acted like he didn't even care" when speaking to reporters following the 21-15 loss in Green Bay."When I saw that postgame press conference last night, I thought he looked completely immature," Mora said. After a heartbreaking loss where he played one of the worst games of his professional career,...
You Be the Critic: GOSSIP GIRL, ONE TREE HILL & THE JAY LENO SHOW
2009-09-15 16:09:00
Matthew Morrison, the TV Addict, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer If there was one downside to attending last night’s FOX Fall Eco-Casino Launch Party (see above photo of your very own TV Addict ‘gleeking’ out with a few familiar faces!) it was that I missed out on some fairly important premieres. Which is why yet again I’m turning it over to you — my far smarter and better looking readers — to put your critics hat on and post away with your thoughts on last night’s premieres of GOSSIP GIRL, ONE TREE HILL and THE JAY LENO SHOW.
Pay no attention to the Republican critic behind the curtain
2009-09-10 18:11:00
Well, last evening's show of self-awareness from the Republicans in the House during the president's address concerning Health Care/Insurance Reform has been dissed from many sides, but one thing their sourpuss display has done for the GOP: lamentably it takes attention away from the legislation at hand and from the dire issues of our health care system. It also helps fill Republican Party coffers from whatever supporters they have and hope to have by way of Obama-bashing.The GOP's 'hopeful' de-legitimizing of the presidency of Barack Obama continues and one wonders if the majority of the American people will accept these tactics as legitimate political discourse, or as the crass and desperate underhandedness it is. That people with real concerns about any commander-in-chief are being callously manipulated seems not to occur to the Republican rank and file at all, and I marvel that they were so often missing-in-action during the Bush-Cheney years which have so injured our natio...
You Be the Critic: 90210 and MELROSE PLACE
2009-09-09 17:43:00
Thanks to last nights much-anticipated return of 90210 and MELROSE PLACE the TV Addict finally gets to scratch that itch by typing those four magical words that we’ve been jonsin’ for all summer long, “You Be The Critic.” Which if you’re new to theTVaddict.com (and by the way, thanks for stopping by) is YOUR opportunity to post away with your take on last night’s television. But before you do, a few random musing if we may. As advertised, 90210 did in fact offer up a “New Beginning,” cleverly repositioning the series around the trifecta of talent that is Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), Silver (Jessica Stroup) and Adrianne (Jessica Lowndes, sporting some much needed lush new locks!). Leaving sullen Shenae Grimes’ Annie Mills flying solo towards a dangerous downward path of booze, sex and public humiliation (Which gets much worse next week, just wait!) Just how much fun was last night’s 90210? Put it this way, between the much-impr...
Film critic, screenwriter Tullio Kezich dead at 80 (AP)
2009-08-17 20:22:00

W Addresses a Critic: A Lesson for his successor (& his supporters)
2009-08-11 23:09:00
At Gateway Pundit, Jim links footage of former President George W. Bush addressing a critic in a town hall meeting which should be required viewing for all critics (and haters) of that good man, but flawed politician.  The respect the Republican showed for his adversary is at odds with the imagery the left used to ...

Introducing Lori Waxman, Freelance Art Critic for the Chicago Tribune
2009-07-03 22:07:00
Hey, I just got the link for Lori Waxman's latest review in the Tribune. It can't be found by searching the Tribune.com site. http://www.chicagotribune.com/f-eatures/arts/chi-0703-galleries--reviewjul03,0,4752311.story She's covering the West Loop and does a great job. She actually tackles it, whereas I just hid under the rug and described Secrist's gallery through quotes from the movie "Repo Man". But I took lots of pictures  http://bit.ly/pLXhS, and then a seriously awful panorama shot of Kavi Gupta's exhibit: http://bit.ly/D53LI So combine Lori's review with my pictures and you'll really be cooking with gas. I'm also excited to point out Waxman's work because:  A. she's a hell of an art critic, she's out of New York, and has more art knowledge in her pinky than...
You Be the Critic: HUNG
2009-06-29 15:39:00
While HUNG wasn’t exactly the laugh-out-loud comedy one might have expected from a show revolving around Thomas Jane and his biggest err… asset, this TV Addict is glad that we well, we hung in there. After-all, now that the pilot out of the way — which let’s face it, was essentially a pro-longed set-up for what happens next — we find ourselves curiously intrigued as to whether or not Thomas Jane’s Ray will be able to keep things strictly professional with his new business partner, poet/pimp Tanya (the amazing Jane Adams who FRASIER fans will remember as Dr. Mel Karnofsky). And with apologies in advance for yet another tawdry pun, we guess you could say, HUNG has a lot of room to grow. Thoughts?
GayPatriot Critic Defends W?s Advocacy for Gays in Islamic Lands
2009-06-11 00:30:00
Taking issue with critiques that Bruce and I leveled against President Obama for his silence on the plight of gays living under Islam in his celebrated (by his acolytes) Cairo speech to the Muslim world and the failure of the gay groups to fault that silence, one of our critics contended the President did speak ...

A Typical Bush Critic
2009-05-29 06:07:00
In an article on former President George W. Bush’s speech in Michigan, AP Reporter James Prichard asked Mark Brewer, chairman of the state Democratic Party, for his reaction.   And this representative of the political party of the Governor of his state, the state with “the highest jobless rate” in the nation sounded a lot like some ...

You Be the Critic: GLEE, 90210, THE MENTALIST & AMERICAN IDOL
2009-05-20 15:23:00
If you’re anything like this TV Addict, odds are fairly good that you haven’t stopped listening to “Don’t Stop Believin’,” and “Rehab” since the curtain fell on last night’s GLEE premiere. Of course, the popularity of CBS’ entire schedule is evidence enough that this TV Addict and your average television viewer don’t always see eye-to-eye. Which is why we thought we’d ask you to put your critics hat on and post away with your thoughts on GLEE, who should win AMERICAN IDOL, and last night’s season finales of 90210 and THE MENTALIST.
You Be the Critic: PARKS AND RECREATION, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SOUTHLAND, SU
2009-05-15 14:49:00
Having chosen to take advantage of a free invite to see X:Men Origins: Wolverine last night (which by the way, not nearly as terrible as I was led to believe) this TV Addict has decided to once again, ask you to be the critic by posting your spoiler-free thoughts on last night’s installment of PARKS AND RECREATION, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SOUTHLAND, BONES, SUPERNATURAL, SMALLVILLE, UGLY BETTY, and GREY’S ANATOMY.
You Be the Critic: PARKS AND RECREATION, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SOUTHLAND, SU
2009-05-08 15:46:00
Since everybody seems to be itching to discuss last night’s slew of must see TV, this TV Addict thought he’d once again ask you to do your best Ken Tucker impersonation by being the critic and posting your spoiler-free (since I have yet to watch anything outside of what might have been the least funny episode of THE OFFICE ever) thoughts on last night’s installments of PARKS AND RECREATION, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SOUTHLAND, SUPERNATURAL, SMALLVILLE, UGLY BETTY, and GREY’S ANATOMY.
You Be the Critic: PARKS AND RECREATION, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SOUTHLAND, SU
2009-05-01 15:30:00
Seven plus hours of television, “Oh, what a night!” Or at least that’s what I would have been saying had real life not gotten in the way (D’OH!) Which is why I once again am leaving it to you, yes YOU, my far smarter and better looking readers — to post away with your (spoiler free) thoughts on last night’s installments of PARKS AND RECREATION, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SOUTHLAND, SUPERNATURAL, SMALLVILLE, UGLY BETTY, GREY’S ANATOMY & PRIVATE PRACTICE.
?Do your homework, first:? Condi Confronts a Critic
2009-05-01 02:04:00
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice confronts a misinformed critic of the Bush Administration: Wish more of her colleagues had challenge critics as directly as she did above and wish that the Bush White House had done more to promote such challenges. Had W had Obama’s public relations commitment, he would likely have left office with much ...
You Be the Critic: THE OFFICE, PARKS AND RECREATION, SOUTHLAND and HARPERâ€
2009-04-10 13:53:00
Because as it would turn out, TiVoing Passover wasn’t exactly an option and my family didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye with my belief that NBC’s “Must See TV” was important enough to skip the second Seder, this TV Addict is once again passing the buck to you — my far smarter and better looking readers — to post away with your thoughts on last night’s installments of THE OFFICE (x2), PARKS AND RECREATION, SOUTHLAND and HARPER’s ISLAND.
You Be the Critic: ER, UGLY BETTY, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SUPERNATURAL, SMALL
2009-03-13 14:13:00
With the notable exception of last night’s hilarious one-two THE OFFICE/30 ROCK combo, an overhyped ER that reminded me why I stopped watching the show years ago and the absolutely must-see-it-to-believe-it smack-down that Jon Stewart gave Jim Cramer (How sad is it that the fake news does such a better job or covering the actual news than the real news? Click here for the video), this TV Addict is embarrassed to report that I’ve once again sullied my self-proclaimed title of ultimate TV Addict by missing out on all of our favorite Thursday night shows. Which is why, I’m once again passing the buck to you all — my far smarter and better looking readers — to post away with your thoughts on last night’s installments of UGLY BETTY, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SUPERNATURAL, GREY’S ANATOMY & PRIVATE PRACTICE.
Sound (but Loaded?) Advice from a Critic
2009-02-21 18:15:00
In a recent comment, bob, one of our most regular critics, chimes in with some good advice for conservatives: rather than spending so much energy on criticizing your political opponents, perhaps you should begin developing more nuanced and thoughtful ideas on how to solve the nation?s problems. in case you haven?t noticed, we?re in quite the ...
You Be the Critic: UGLY BETTY, GREY’S ANATOMY, SMALLVILLE, SUPERNATURAL,
2009-02-06 14:37:00
Since this TV Addict was otherwise occupied yesterday visiting the set of NBC’s exciting new series KINGS. Where, by the way, I can assure you, star Ian McShane did not pull a “Christian Bale” and in fact could not have been nicer! I thought I’d leave up to you — my far smarter and better looking readers — to post away with your thoughts on last night’s installments of UGLY BETTY, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SMALLVILLE, SUPERNATURAL, GREY’S ANATOMY and PRIVATE PRACTICE. What should I watch first?
You Be the Critic: LOST, LIE TO ME & LIFE ON MARS
2009-01-29 13:26:00
Since this TV Addict has yet to catch up with all of last night’s television, I thought I’d open up the floor to you, my far smarter and better looking reading by posing the following questions three. (1) Did last night’s jaw-dropping reveals on LOST live up to the hype (also known as serious blogger-overhyped-eritis)? (2) Was LIE TO ME’s second episode as much fun as its first? (3) And most importantly, did anyone remember to tune into the return of LIFE ON MARS? And if so how was it?

You Be the Critic: SCRUBS, NIP/TUCK, PRIVILEGED, 90210 & NCIS
2009-01-07 15:50:00
Since your very own TV Addict was otherwise occupied stalking Kiefer Sutherland at last night’s party celebrating the season premiere of 24 (Stay tuned for obligatory and let’s face it, over-the-top shameless pics of the TV Addict with some of your favorite stars!) This TV Addict is passing the buck to you, my far smarter and better looking readers to fill us all in on how good, bad and/or ugly the return of SCRUBS, NIP/TUCK, PRIVILEGED, 90210 and NCIS* were. And yes, you are indeed reading that correctly. For the first time in the history of theTVaddict.com, NCIS is getting a mention. Because according to readers like Gabi who were kind enough to take the time to chime in when asked, “NCIS is the best! And for the record, I’m in my late twenties and it drives me nuts when people suggest that NCIS is watched only by people who are fifty plus!”

With the notable exception of Jennifer Aniston’s hilarious turn as Crazy Rachel Claire on 30 ROCK, this TV Addict is sad to report that I’ve once again sullied my self-proclaimed title of ultimate TV Addict by missing out on all of our favorite Thursday night shows. Which is why, I’m once again passing the buck to you all — my far smarter and better looking readers — to post away with your thoughts on last night’s installments of UGLY BETTY, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SUPERNATURAL, GREY’S ANATOMY & LIFE ON MARS.
You Be the Critic: LEGEND OF THE SEEKER
2008-11-13 17:04:00
If your childhood was anything like mine, an inordinate (read: potentially unhealthy) number of Saturday afternoons were spent sprawled in front of the television (Lego in hand) as you reveled in the fun and adventure that was HERCULES: THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS and XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS. Which is why, it should come as no surprise that when I heard about Sam Raimi’s (SPIDER-MAN) attempt to revitalize the once popular mid-90’s heroic genre (complete with faux British accents) with LEGEND OF THE SEEKER (Click for official site), this TV Addict was to say the least, mildly intrigued. 2008-09-30 13:48:00
Since this TV Addict was tied up observing a Jewish holiday last night [which my family and by family I of course mean Mother assures me is far more important than a silly old TV show, or seven], I have yet to catch any of last night’s television. Which is why I’m leaving this post open to all of you — my far smarter and better looking readers — to post away with last night’s good, bad and ugly from the world of television.
You Be the Critic: DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, BROTHERS & SISTERS & DEXTE
2008-09-29 17:42:00
After spending all summer hearing about a twist so huge it would be like “throwing a pebble on a mountain, only to have it turn into an avalanche that can’t be stopped.” This TV Addict couldn’t help but feel slightly let down by last night’s supposedly shocking ending to DEXTER’s third season opener. I mean seriously, Dexter is a daddy? Isn’t that type of predictable plot contrivance usually reserved for DEXTER’s time-slot competitor DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES? Which bring us to the ladies of Wisteria Lane. Who in a word, I LOVED! As expected. the five year flash forward was the exact ingredient DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES needed to completely reinvigorate the show. Not only do we now get to spend an hour a week filling in the blanks as to what happened to our fab five over the course of the past five years, we get an even funnier Gabby, a far less annoying Susan, a vindictive Edie, the seemingly never-ending one-upmanship of Bree vs. Katherine an...

Which is why my fellow TV Addicts, I’m taking the easy way out this morning and turning things over you to. So go ahead, put on your ‘Critics Hat’ and let us all know what you thought of last night’s installments of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, HEROES, GOSSIP GIRL, ONE TREE HILL, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, THE BIG BANG THEORY, BOSTON LEGAL and PRISON BREAK.
You Be the Critic: SMALLVILLE & SUPERNATURAL
2008-09-19 16:03:00
Following last night’s fantastic season premieres of both SMALLVILLE and SUPERNATURAL this TV Addict is left pondering two very simple questions. First off, should next season’s SMALLVILLE spin-off be called METROPOLIS or JUSTICE LEAGUE? And two, are we about to head towards a future where the web’s favorite brotherly duo are on opposite sides of the issue? Would SUPERNATURAL showrunner Eric Kripke seriously turn Dean against Sam as they face off in a Holy War to save humanity. Angels versus Demons, brother against brother, fandom v fandom? I’m not so sure the internet will be able to handle it. Post away with your thoughts. And for the record, this TV Addict is totally voting Sam/Demon ‘08 come November!
You Be the Critic: 90210, FRINGE, PRIVILEGED & HOUSE
2008-09-17 16:31:00
Now would be the time to let the world know and by ‘world,’ I of course mean the millions thousands of readers that are visiting theTVaddict.com on a daily basis what you, yes YOU thought of last night’s TV. Or to be more specific, 90210, FRINGE, PRIVILEGED and HOUSE. And to get your started, here is this TV Addict’s brief rant on last night’s installment of 90210. Because honestly, I’m still scratching my head as to FRINGE’s mindboggling ending [Sorry Linda B.] and didn’t manage to stay up to watch PRIVILEGED because sadly, there is only so much TV one can watch in a single evening [Especially when I managed to squeeze in the final two episodes of WEEDS phenomenal fourth season] (more…)
You Be the Critic: TERMINATOR, GOSSIP GIRL & ONE TREE HILL
2008-09-09 15:33:00
And the say television doesn’t teach us anything. Thanks to the gorgeous glowing Panasonic 42″ flat-screen in my living room, this TV Addict learned two important things last night. First off, all women named Catherine are apparently evil. And secondly, there are two types of girl-fights, good ones and bad ones. For an example of good girl-fights, look no further than last night’s fantastic season premiere of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. Not only was this TV Addict on the edge of his seat as a malfunctioning Cameron [Summer Glau] spent the better part of an hour hunting down the very people she was programmed to protect. Newcomer Catherine Weaver [Shirley Manson] truly made her point [yes, pun intended] by revealing to the both the audience and one incredibly unfortunate employee that she’s actually a T-1001 Liquid Metal Terminator that you don’t want to mess with. Meanwhile, over to the Upper East Side, the good girl-fight continued when an...
You Be the Critic: 90210 Series Premiere
2008-09-03 04:14:00

You Be the Critic: GOSSIP GIRL, PRISON BREAK & ONE TREE HILL
2008-09-02 18:15:00
Do you know how long I’ve waited to post the words “You Be the Critic”? I mean seriously, it’s been months! And not even the lameness of Michael “Why does FOX keep hiring me?” Rappaport on PRISON BREAK could ruin the excitement that was two hours of Sara and Michael reunited, a GOSSIP GIRL premiere that lived up to the hype [I mean could Chuck and Blair be anymore fun?] and ONE TREE HILL that not only featured the return of Cruella DeVictoria but the awesome craziness that is Nanny Carrie. So if you’re new to theTVaddict.com, here’s your chance. Put on your critics hat and let us all know what you thought of last night’s TV.
POP: Quentin Tarantino destroys Uppity Film Critic
2008-08-18 14:00:00
This video is a little on the old side, going way back to the release of Kill Bill, and I am totally on Quentin Tarantino's side on this one. I watch some really graphically violent stuff as a kid and I handled it fine. Heck, my family often had to take me because most of the films I enjoyed were R-Rated (Thanks to my Granny for that 3-D screening of Freddy's Dead and The Crow!). If kids can't handle it, consider it a form of social darwinism.
