Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks has publicly expressed interest in owning the Cubs, but it is still uncertain if he could raise the expected $700 million it would take or whether he could get approval from other MLB owners. Tribune Co. hopes to sell the team by the end of the year, and several groups have expressed interest, although Cuban is the most visible individual suitor. He declined to talk with media before the game, except to say he wanted to enjoy the Cubs and a beer. Cuban's timing is curious because this is about the point when ownership said it would open its financial books to prospective buyers.Asked about the possibility of owning the Cubs, he replied, "I don't know honestly. I'm here to get a better feel. I'm certainly interested."

2008-03-15 17:26:00 Its been an eventful weekend. Upon landing in Miami, Myk Jones and I headed over to grab some grub and had this excellent Cuban Steak sandwich that you see above. Shortly after that we were unsuccessful in getting our cameras into Wet Willies, but the Management at Mangos allowed us to stream live from their venue from 9:30 PM to 11PM. Big up to Raul Acosta and David (The Owner) for allowing us to come in. After a night at Mangos, we went back to Wet Willies where we were chilling with T-Weaponz, 950 Plus, The Ave Records, some DJs from L.A, and several artists from Brooklyn. Today, we are off to the beach, then heading over to the Latin Urban Mixx where nearly every Latin Hip Hop artist will be. My husband notices that I have simply left the conversation mid sentence and looks around. ?This is wonderful,? I explain. He looks at the art and looks back at me. I see the intense colors and simple designs and declare, ?I bet it is Cuban.? I am thinking of a mystery I read years ago: Adios Muchachos by Daniel Chaverria set in Cuba and written by a Uraguayan. I can?t really say why this art and that book are related somehow in my mind but there it is. Maybe these paintings have the same flirtatious humor that I remember from the mystery.
