2008-02-29 19:29:00 I LOVE curly hair.. but I cant seem to do it well. I bought these conair stick things that you wrap your hair on.. and then they bend to stay in place. I have tried cheapo curlers to do this... and they tangle bad.. so this looked like it work better. I had better success with them... but im still unsure of how to really get a great curl look. (and curling irons are just difficult for me to handle.. I always burn myself! maybe if my hair was longer it be easier to use an iron)I want soft looking curls.. not ringlet style.Just a nice wave.Any tips? :-)BTW my hair is very thick!! incase that matters.And a quick shout out to Marcie who gave me the dangle pearl earrings Im wearing in the photos. Use a small amount of Sedu heat protectant product (or similar product) to protect your hair from the extra heat you will be using to style it. I have an eyelash curler in my kit, basically because every time you read a 'model/celeb/makeup artist makeup bag secrets' type article, an eyelash curler always fits in their somewhere. But, after a week of testing now, I have no idea why I have it. I've tried curling before and after mascara, heating the curler using my hairdryer beforehand, curling only one lash to see the difference and curling both and asking boyfriend opinion... but nothing. A while back, I was given a bunch of stuff from ModelCo, and in all that stuff was a heated eyelash curler. Now, I'll admit that baby worked. However, it worked too well.
