Curlin gets his nose to arrive first at Nad Al Sheba
2008-02-29 23:29:00 All those who thought the betting world was kinda dull without NFL (not even controversial news or T.O. crying anymore, just lovely pictures of Tom Brady in Costa Rica with girlfriend Gisele is what we get from them) are probably not thinking about horse racing. The expectation for this year?s Triple Crown started to warm ...

Rags to Riches Wins the Belmont Stakes [David Stefanini]
2007-06-10 01:54:00 What an amazing race this was. Rags to Riches became the first female to win the Belmont stakes in 102 years. The last female horse to win at the Belmont was Tonya who won the race in 1905.I don't know about you, but I have watched the Triple Crown for roughly a decade now and I can't remember a string of 3 races this exciting to watch.First we had the super-horse performance of Street Sense coming from 2nd to last to win the Kentucky Derby. In the Preakness Stakes there was Street Sense once again coming from nowhere to take the lead only to lose by less than an inch to Curlin. Then there was the Belmont Stakes. Where 4 horses were dead even in the final turn. Then the battle of the sexes took place. It was race favorite Curlin, the winner of the Preakness, head to head with female horse Rags to Riches. They went back and forth throughout the stretch run until Rags to Riches finally got the lead by a nose and held on.This was by far the best Triple Crown I have ever seen. It reall...

Curlin Upsets Street Sense
2007-05-20 03:44:00 I was watching the preview of the Preakness Stakes but I had fallen sleep to miss the live coverage. Street Sense received his own medicine when Curlin came from behind and won within a nose. What a thriller! Curlin’s win just implies that we will not be witnessing a Tripple Crown. This race was just nerve-wracking, ...

Hair Curling Techniques
2007-05-11 07:06:00 You can refer to curling hair as permanent waving or perming. This chemical treatment produces curls in your hair. I have found it to be highly popular among the youths. The hair is wrapped on rods after applying thioglycolic acid location. The effect of this lotion breaks makes the hair receptive to a new shape. By arranging the chemically treated hair on rods the hair can be moulded into a new curly shape. Then an acid neutralizer lotion will be applied for hair setting, i.e. to fix your hair to the shape of the rod. I have some safety tips on curling hair. Please keep the lotions and other chemicals away from the skin as much as possible, so that they have least contact with anything other than hair. By the way, you better do your curling hair by a professional expert, to maximize the chances of chemical rebonding. You know what? An expert is familiar with the appropriate chemical concentration. And yes, avoid cleansing till 48 hours after curling. It is almost a must...
The Magic of Hair Curling & Setting
2007-05-02 07:28:00 I have been hearing lot of complaints about the “Curly” hair these days. Many women are coming to me with the problem of curling hair. I think it is due to much use of the chemicals or blow drying too much. It could be also due to chlorine in your swimming pools. It could also be due to too much use of “mousse” products. Do not use a hair brush. Using a hair brush on thick hair and “frizzy” prone hair will cause split ends. Instead, use a hair picks when your hair is wet, then finger comb when your hair is dry. In the morning when you wake up, if you have “bed” hair, sprinkle your hair with water and finger comb it into place. You can also use hot iron to avoid hair curling techniques, but I would not advise that because excess heat can damage to your hair. Do not rub your hair with a towel when wet. Instead, let your hair set in a towel for 10 minutes, then take the towel off. If you have natural curly hair they make look frizzy when you expose you...

Thirteen blood curling medical facts and one amazing, blind,
2006-12-01 15:02:04 It only takes 7 lbs of pressure to rip off your ears. One group, the Hunza in Northwest Kashmir, reportedly have not experienced cancer. The group is also said to have unusual longevity. In 1918 and 1919, a world epidemic of simple influenza killed 20 million people in the United States and Europe. If you lock your knees while standing long enough, you will pass out. During a lifetime, one person generates more than 1,000 pounds of red blood cells. An itch is a stimulus affecting the nerve endings between the dermis and epidermis; scientists liken it to a form of pain. But that’s neither here nor there. It’s usually caused by histamine released in the epidermis. Scratching stops it, either by interfering with the nerve impulses or by temporarily damaging the nerves themselves. Scientists have identified more than 300 viruses capable of bringing fatal diseases to insects. The organisms are believed to be entirely different than those that cause disease in humans, and ...
T3 ‘Domed Duality’ ¾ Straightening/Curling Iron Revie
2006-10-31 09:33:00 Now it’s not generally in my nature to feel the need to review electrical appliances but I’m making the exception for the T3 ¾” Styling Iron. Is this because I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought? No. Is it the worst thing I’ve ever bought? No.So why on earth is this crazy bird so desperate to talk about it then? I’m not. I’ll stop confusing you all and get to the point. The reason I’m reviewing this styling apparatus is more to do with the company I bought it from than the thing itself but I will offer a few Pod pearls of wisdom on the iron too.The story goes….A few weeks back I trotted off to a friends wedding from a very nice salon where a hairdresser-come-magician transformed my long, frizzy mane (aka Big Hair) into a sleek, curled up-do using a pair of GHD’s. Loving the result, I was about to rush out and buy a pair of GHD’s when I was informed that T3’s do the job just as well but are ...
