Murphy's Law has struck not once, not twice, but a number of times and I put it all down to a cycle of life that everything follows. I lost most of my equipment to power damage a couple of months ago. More recently, I let out my anger and frustrations on the laptop for the last time. Right after doing an SR (long story, but to cut it short, it means bringing one's fist down very hard) on the keyboard, the drive made a click and I witnessed my work grind to a complete halt. I usually keep enough backups to minimize disruption or downtime, but I was already running in degraded mode with the PC knocked out of service. I had only a couple hours to be fully functional and get back online so I took the fast, but expensive route and got a new power supply, LCD and video card for the PC. I'm loving Sheena, I really like her attitude and her spirit. You look at her and you see one thing, but then she opens her mouth and you discover she's a total hoodrat! I love that about her! And of course I like Joslyn, she's a Louisiana girl just like me and I like her bubbliness. And she's not a quitter (Joslyn tried out for ANTM a million times before she finally made it on). I like that. I'm definitely pulling for her. So far, I'm not really feeling Clark, and as for the rest of 'em, well the jury's still out. Weight loss and the cycle of the year
2008-06-09 13:33:00 There seems to be two times a year that the human masses want to lose weight, first of the year and Spring/Summer time. The first of the year is a mental thing with carbon based life forms. You start an exercise program and go on a diet to lose weight, most not all get bored with it after a while. When the Spring/Summer time comes around it is all about dieting for vanity sake to be able to fit in your old swim suit, without having to buy a larger suit for the summer. The cycle seems to continue each year. I wish, once the weight is off it would nice if it stayed off. I can dream.If this makes the human race happy then so be it. I got lucky and my swim shorts still fit this year.Cheers |
