And by “some money,” I mean a minimum of $500,000. Country singer/songwriters are the single hottest investment property you can find in 2008. A new ...

Dale Watson Embarassed By Country Music
2007-02-02 23:04:02 I noticed an article about Dale Watson over on The Exponent Online a few days ago and dismissed it as rubbish, but it has been picking up steam lately, so I figured I would throw my commentary into the ring. Mr. Watson thinks that country music is synonymous with crap, that the genre has been stolen, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. He wants people to listen to his music without any preconceived notions nor does he want anyone to dismiss him for being traditional, so he has proposed a new genre. To say country automatically means crap is a pretty sweeping generalization, which I think is downright demoralizing to every artist in the genre and it’s completely self righteous on his part. “And finally … the name for the genre. … I’ve been trying to come up with a name [that] best describes this music that me and folks similar do. When folks ask, I hesitate, down right embarrassed really, to say country. I didn’t used to be, but with the c...
Dale Watson Records Album In Former Cash Cabin And Billy Ray Cyrus Joins Da
2007-01-24 04:48:04 Almost every time I hear that an artist will be releasing a new album this year I get excited. Among the albums I’m anticipating the most is John Anderson’s Easy Money, then of course there’s the Doug Moreland album that I talked about yesterday, and Tim McGraw usually puts out quality stuff. Some of the other well known artists releasing albums this year seem to be escaping me right now, but CMT talks a little bit about Dale Watson’s new album From the Cradle to the Grave due out April 24th. He wrote and recorded the album in a cabin formerly owned by Johnny Cash and now owned by another Johnny - Johnny Knoxville. “I got up there and basically wrote 10 songs in three days,” Watson says. “At first, I was adamant about not writing anything even remotely reminiscent to Johnny Cash as I figured I’d be instantly dismissed for trying to cop his vibe, but his presence was so strong up there that I decided, ‘Why fight it? Let the chips ... |
