Got hot links if you want ‘em. In a New York Times article on Memorial Day, “The Wars We Choose to Ignore,” David Carr writes: “Even as we celebrate generations of American soldiers past, the women and men who are making that sacrifice today in Iraq and Afghanistan receive less attention every day. . . . Given public indifference to a war that refuses to end, perhaps a third statue should be added: America at peace with being at war.” Yes, we’ve grown accustomed to the face of war. In a Telegraph article, “John Bolton escapes citizen’s arrest at Hay Festival,” Steven Adams reports on world-class environmental columnist George Monbiot’s attempt to arrest Bolton in England: “‘This was a serious attempt to bring one of the perpetrators of the Iraq war to justice, for. . . an international crime,’ he said. During Mr Bolton’s talk. . . Mr Monbiot had asked Mr Bolton what difference there was between him a...

These pictures were taken back in 2004 and I’m not really sure how to react to them. On one hand you can think it’s a great service for these ladies to entertain the soldiers while they’re at war. Me personally? I think it’s a terrible idea. I know that if I were at ...

Cooking With The Dallas Cowboys
2008-05-20 10:20:00
The Dallas Cowboys might win an ESPY, an Emmy, or a Teen Choice Award, but they can forget about the Lombardi trophy in the 2008-09 season. Tony Romo’s caught up in the Simpson family web, Terrell Owens is pursuing his acting career, and now Jason Witten is hoping for some off-field exposure. As if five ...

HBO's Hard Knocks to Feature the Dallas Cowboys
2008-05-17 03:40:00
I Guess HBO is trying to keep the show fresh and innovative. That's nice, but could you pick a better team to showcase then the Cowgirls-i-mean-boys? How about some team who is on their way back up, Like the Redskins, or the Vikings, or even the Saints. Any team but the Cowboys and their attention seeking receiver Terrell Owens, who reminds us not to Pick on Tony Romo because he's is "His QB." Let me know when Tony gets a National Commercial spot. Even Brady Quinn of the Browns(and he's still a Back-up!) has an EAS-Myoplex commercial!! Is Wade Phillips even "Telegenic" enough to do a month of Training camp TV spots? Will we see another Terrell Owens "Meltdown"?
The Rise And Fall Of Koy
2008-05-15 14:43:00
Professional holder Koy Detmer once rose up as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Unfortunately Koy’s run would only last for a little less than one complete game. Dallas Cowboys? Greg Ellis: Leave Roy Williams Alone
2008-05-09 08:17:00
Dallas Cowboys’ safety Roy Williams can still lay some hat, but his already questionable coverage skills have declined as he’s gotten older and slower. A lot of Cowboys fans want him traded if not cut, and some are resorting to treating Roy’s jersey the way receivers and tight ends treat him on the field. Dallas Cowboys’ ...

2008-04-10 18:18:00
For the sixth straight year the NFL has set a record for paid attendance league wide.  The Redskins held the top spot for paid attendance once again due in large part to the extra large stadium capacity of FedEx Field which stands at 91,655.  The Cowboys will be blowing these records out of the water ...

In The Red Zone: Are Patriots Pacman Jonesing?
2008-03-22 15:00:00
Two weeks ago we reported that the New England Patriots had some possible interest in suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones along with several other teams. I even mentioned in the comments for the post that I thought it was a case of the Patriots brass, Scott Pioli and Bill Belichick, doing their due diligence in the situation. Well now it has apparently turned out that New England, along with Dallas and Detroit, may actually be doing more than just kicking the tires. John Tomase of the Boston Herald has a quote from Jones agent Manny Arora on the situation. “Tennessee has said publicly that they’re considering all their options, including a trade. If Tennessee decides there is going to be a trade, New England would be a very good fit for us. The reason for that is great leadership, strong coaching and a winning tradition.” “Over my years representing athletes and being a lawyer, as long as you’re winning, all the baggage...

The Longest Mock Draft in NFL History Continues...I?m assuming by now that everyone heard about the ?tornado-like storm? that blew through Atlanta last night. Pretty crazy when a storm blows a hole through the Georgia Dome, actually rocks the scaffolding at the top of the dome, scares the coaches and players so badly that they moved their family back into the lockerroom and out of danger, and yet they still ended up eventually finishing the game!A tornado in a major city. Crazy. Hopefully everyone in Atlanta is alright. As I type this, they?re saying no fatalities, but 9 or 10 injuries. Back to the not-so-serious subject of this extremely long winde...
Patriots Alumni News: Drew Bledsoe Coffee Roaster
2008-03-14 01:00:00
After a 14-year NFL playing career it didn’t take long for former New England Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe to miss the two-a-days during the summer heat. Instead he spent time on his boat on Whitefish Lake in Montana instead of getting knocked around like he did during those 14-years with New England, Buffalo and Dallas. While his NFL friends were sweating through the grueling twice daily practices, Bledsoe had his wife, Maura, take his picture with his feet in the water drinking a beer. He then proceeded to email them the photo with a message attached. “As you can see from this first picture I am maintaining my strict workout regimen,” he wrote them. “You can see here I am alternating some 12-ounce curls with some toe swirls. I generally do these until the bottle gets too light to offer enough resistance then I start over with a fresh one.” Everyday through the first week of camp he followed it up with different photos. Then when camp came and wen...
In The Red Zone: Patriots Considering Pacman
2008-03-09 02:00:00
The New England Patriots are reportedly interested in Tennessee Titans cornerback/suspended bad boy Adam “Pacman” Jones. Detroit, Oakland, Kansas City, Houston, New Orleans and Dallas are among those to also have expressed at least some level of interest. Jones, who was suspended all of last season, could come up for review for re-instatement prior to the NFL Draft in April. Jones who was the 6th overall pick in the 2005 draft is considered a top cover corner and is an extremely dangerous punt returner. But he is becoming more well known for his off field behavior than his actions on Sundays. He’s been arrested six times since being drafted by the Titans and was at the center of a Las Vegas strip club melee in February 2007 that left a man paralyzed. He’s currently serving three years probation, stemming from an incident in Fayette County, Ga., where he was alleged to have bitten a police officer’s hand. So the questions begs to be asked. Does “Pa...

Dallas Cowboys Defeat AFC’s Best 42-30
2008-02-11 16:13:00
Okay, they may have had a little help, but with 13 Cowboys suiting up to play in the game, it almost seemed like the Dallas Cowboys taking on the AFC’s best. I’m not sure if there was a single play without at least one Dallas Cowboy on the field. And, if not for a decision to run the ball at the end of the game on the 6 yard line instead of pass the ball, a Cowboy may very well have walked away as the MVP. T.O. certainly showed that the popcorn should be ready even for an exhibition game, raking in 8 catches for 101 yards and 2 TD’s. Romo also had a good showing completing 9 of 16 passes for 87 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception on a pass that should have been caught. He also showed his dance moves on a few plays, and would have had a couple more completions if T.O. didn’t have butter on his hands from that popcorn. I would have liked to have seen Marion Barber a little bit more. Hey, I understand, you got a chance to hand the ball to Adrian Pet...
Jacksonville Jaguars defeat Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XLIII
2008-02-05 07:54:00
Or at least that's what Gary Myers of the NY Daily News thinks: It will be the Jaguars and the Cowboys in the Super Bowl in Tampa. The biggest negative is we won't get to watch T.O. cry again about Tony Romo after losing an early-round game. That was one of the highlights of the season. T.O. should win best supporting actor in a comedy because the free-flowing tears were simply hysterical. And after a Super Bowl with so much Gisele talk, it will be Jessica Simpson's turn next year, providing of course she and Romo are still together. Jacksonville supposedly was the team nobody wanted to play in the playoffs, but then the Patriots eliminated them in the divisional round. David Garrard will benefit from the experience he had in his first year as the full-time starter. Here's the key for the Jags: They must beat the Colts in the AFC South so they can get some home games in the playoffs. Super Bowl XLIII prediction: Jaguars 28, Cowboys 21 I'm OK with that prediction.  And it s...
