2009-09-12 01:48:00 Dan Brown's new book, The Lost Symbol, is set for release on Tuesday and was described by Amazon.com's Jeff Bezos in a note on Amazon's homepage last week as "one of the most anticipated publishing events of all time" and insists the company is keeping its stash of yet-released copies of the book "under 24-hour guard in its own chain-link enclosure, with two locks requiring two separate people for entry" and is urging librarians and reviewers keep copies "under lock and key", which, well, seems a bit excessive. And like an insanely effective marketing tool in his readership community. At first glance, anyway....

Setelah banyak kisah-kisah yang dipadukannya antara sejarah dan khayalan dibeli dan dibukukan oleh berbagai perusahaan penerbitan diseluruh jagad, kini dia makin produktif saja dalam menulis.Buku yang dikeluarkannya setelah The Davinci Code, yaitu Deception Point ternyata juga booming loh. "Dan Brown has a very specific release date for the publication of his new book, and when the book is published, his readers will see why," says Stephen Rubin, president of Bertelsmann's Doubleday Broadway Publishing Group, whose Doubleday imprint publishes Mr. Brown. Mr. Rubin declined further comment. Rubin seems to be hinting at a specific reason behind the publication date. Is it likely to be a day of importance in American history or politics? A complaint has been filed against the 2006 movie by clergymen in the Italian village of Civitavecchia, on the grounds it is "obscene" from a religious perspective. They both feature in the complaint, which names a further eight people. If they are found guilty the defendants could face jail time of three months.Considering the fact that them movie has been out for about one year, I wonder what took them so long?
