It is the kind of room that causes you to sweat before you have played the first note (this is a thing that I like by the way). I am still a hair under the weather even as I write this. I think I have a couple more days before I can stop needing to rely on the crowd to kick in my adrenaline. Last night I needed that from the crowd. They delivered in spades. 2007-10-21 04:46:00 Last night we played at the historic Warfield Theatre in San Francisco. The show was fabulous. I had been getting a lot of emails on our site and our Myspace since the show was announced. I should have known that it was going to be a special show. The problem is that I am fighting off a sore throat (more from singing than from germs, at least that is what I am telling myself!), so all that was on my mind throughout the day was how I have to sing three shows in a row on a sore throat! I'd never stopped to think about all the excitement I had been expecting out of San Fran since we told them we were coming. 2007-10-17 01:03:00 I am watching "Serenity" for the umpteenth time and I have to tell you that this is the most under rated bit of science fiction ever made. It's the movie follow up to the short-lived Joss Whedon television series "Firefly". "Serenity", which takes it's title from the name of the Firefly class ship the crew travel in, is the kind of movie that adults that loved the original star wars trilogy as kids had hoped the prequels would be. This is mainly because every bit of the film is like a western in outer space. All the characters seem to be kin of Han Solo. All the women are tough (even Kaley). All the terrain is treacherous. 2007-10-15 07:41:00 Wild. This show was one of my favorites of all time. I never ever know what to expect from shows. I have found it is always better to lay any expectations to the side. I wouldn't say that if I had let myself speculate that I would have had high enough expectations for this show. The crowd sounded so loud and beautiful. At times, they were with me as I led them through every turn. At other times they led and I just tried my best to hang on. It was an energetic set, especially for an (mostly) acoustic (mostly) solo show. I had a set list written out that I thought was moving and entertaining, but as the crowd roared I couldn't help but add more and more songs into the set. My favorite moment during the show may have been when, moved by the energy of the crowd, I threw "Keep Watch For The Mines" into the set for its first performance.
