Dave Matthews Band tour to go green once again

At The Disco and Barenaked Ladies having been reported on here at AutoblogGreen. All of these tours were being coordinated with Reverb, which has "greened" 50 tours to date, and has another big name on the docket for this year: Dave Matthews Band. This is the second tour that DMB and Reverb have partnered on, using biodiesel for their buses and generators on their first. This year, though, they have added a new twist: carpooling. Fans of the band who want to carpool to shows will have the ability to arrange their rides online in advance of the concert.Last year, the DMB tour was able to reduce or eliminate over 3,300,000 pounds of CO2 through the use of biodiesel and carbon credits. Sadly, for many years now every time I've tried to see them live something has come-up and I haven't been able to go. Like I'd be out of town or just didn't want to pay the exorbitant TicketMaster fees. (Boo to you TicketMaster! You are right up there with Starbucks on my list of Evil Corporations. Eddie Vedder was right about you!) Many years ago my Mom got to see DMB -- for free and sans TicketMaster fees -- back when they were a little known band out of Virginia and I've been green with envy ever since. "In order to fulfill an obligation to their label," DMB will compile both studio and live tracks for the set, a release date for which has not been announced.Via an online poll, fans are being asked for their input on tracks for the as-yet-untitled album, including favorite live performances of a given song.The hits package is an apparent requirement as part of the new contract DMB signed with RCA in 2004.
