Nuclear Deck the Halls
2007-12-25 07:31:00
With the holidays amongst us, it's important to remember the true spirit of Christmas: potential nuclear destruction. And so comes this song from The Bomblets, a new performance group in New Hampshire. (The best part of the photo? No, not the John "Bomb, Bomb Iran" McCain poster in the background, but the AC-DC t-shirt the bomblet on the left is wearing.) Happy holidays to everyone! Nuclear Deck the Halls Nuclear proliferation, Falalalala lalalala Threatens future generations, Falalalala lalalala We don?t need no more construction, Falala lalala lalala Weapons made for mass destruction... Deck the halls!
2007-12-15 02:27:00
It’s that time of year where bloggers all over the world start awarding and memeing and in general spreading blogly joy. And I know I just made up a whole bunch of words, but since the blog police were laid off for Christmas, I’m pretty much doing what I want.   Oh wait. I always ...
tra la la la la, la la la la (deck the halls - sing it)
2007-12-12 16:56:00
Everything feeling all Christmassy but relaxed here. I get sleepier as we approach the solstice every year and perk up again in January. Been having some deep thoughts (stop groaning at the back!). Can’t really describe it clearly but it’s about love really. How some of us are being drawn to live our lives in ...
Deck the Halls, Not the Children
2007-12-07 18:20:00
This week's column...Because I’m now the only adult in my home, I’m frequently outnumbered on things like food preferences and movie picks. That’s why on the 26th of November Christmas decorating commenced at the Belknap house. Now I’m not a Type A personality. In fact, I’m more like Type C, if there is such a thing. My house is not meticulous, Mt. Laundry looms in my basement, and my children believe cooking simply requires a can opener and microwave. So you’d think I’d be easy-going when it comes to Christmas decorating. Not so much.I’m not sure if it’s because the majority of our decorations are breakable or I’m just a grinch, but as soon as I popped the seal on our Christmas tubs I became Martha Stewart preparing for a party at the compound. I was barking orders, telling children to stop touching things, and finally made everyone sit at my feet to watch me place everything “just so.” Yes, someone should nominate me for the Christmas Spirit award. When we s...

Deck the Halls to Hide the Murder Holes, Tra La-La
2007-12-01 22:31:00
Predator Press [LOBO] December. And we all know what that means, don't we? Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, it's finally that special time of the year when all hearts and minds prepare for the biggest event of the year: The Santa Claus Blanket Party. I can sense some of you starin' at this blog in utter disbelief. Oh, get over it. You're all thinking it ... at least I've got the stones to put it in print. That fat bastard has violated the sanctity of our homes for the last time. When that prick sneaks down the chimney 'an goes to greedily wolf down my cookies 'an milk this year, whammo, he's gettin a snow shovel full of holiday cheer right upside the head. Too chicken to help me with this? Fine, cowards! I'll keep all those Xbox 360s for myself then! It's not like I said I was going to make Santa 'toss my salad' or anything weird; I just wanna rough the guy up a little. Maybe take the reindeer for a spin down to the Burger King drive-thru,...
Deck the Halls with Coupons
2007-11-29 15:50:00
The Holidays are right for Coupon CodesA hobby of mine is finding and using coupons to save money, my wife and I have been saving money on things we buy and our groceries. It has been an obsession and believe me it can and is a full time job, at one time we had a briefcase full of over 1500 coupons until it got left on the car roof one rainy night.  I drove off went 3 blocks turned around and backtracked our steps could not find a clue on the coupon caddy. These coupons were the paper kind, so old school coupons. The new way to get  online shopping coupons is to go online to CouponChief, they have lots of different companies that allow you to print their company coupons out and use at their stores.  Cha-Ching.CouponChief is a source for a large collection of promo codes. After an overview of the site,  I found that I could save lots of money with discounts on merchandise being bought online.  The site has a complete index of coupons, promotional codes, printa...

2007-09-12 22:57:00
Mmmmmmm… I’m already thinking about Christmas, it’s only a couple of months away, and, what’s not to think about? Well, the fact that absolutely everyone expects a present, and you forget someone, meet them a few weeks later and have that awkward silence because you forgot to buy them one and they bought you one.
