2007-12-04 17:55:00 We are a little late in reporting this, but Def Jam Recordings has reportedly fired a large number of employees on all levels. We are also getting word via MahogonyGirl.com that these employees were released fired with no severance packages or Christmas bonuses. SHAMELESS OPINION:This is sad, but was probably needed. It's hard to pay Def Jam employees when a large portion of the finances went towards marketing/promotions for President Hova's latest album release. When the majority of the dollars are allocated to album release efforts for one artist, you have to cut back in other areas and unfortunately this area was obviously employment. I personally can't say if this was a good or bad move by Def Jam, but im sure that President Camel Face and LA Reid have a plan in place. Maybe this was also an attempt to open up funds to pay President Camel Face what he has requested in order to sign a new contract with Def Jam to stay on as the Presidito.
