Democracy Player Relauches as “Miro”
2007-07-18 19:57:00 It appears that the folks who brought us the open-source, open-standards, cross-platform IPTV Democracy Player have changed the name in order to lure more users and clear up any confusion that the Democracy Player's content was geared towards political topics. At least that's what I gathered from the group's blog post on the subject. Nonetheless, Miro's new home has an updated homepage and a modest amount of new features you can see below. FYI, the Democracy Player / Miro is my favorite IPTV player at the moment. It offers an amazing amount of content (mostly from independent producers) and the usability of the program is exceptional. 2007-02-16 05:11:14 Democracy Player quasi giunto alla sua versione 1.0 (definitiva). Ora ha una splendida interfaccia nera, una migliore gestione della memoria, ed una velocit decisamente migliorata. Vale la pena aggiornarlo per chi lo ha gi installato. Per chi non lo ha, invece, continuo a consigliarlo come il miglior player per contenuti Net TV. Democracy un progetto aperto, che incorpora al suo interno praticamente tutte le funzionalit necessarie per cercare, archiviare ed ordinare tutto il proprio archivio video: dai contenuti in Podcast (supportando anche il download in P2P), i Divix, ai video su YouTube . Quando intervistai Nicholas Reville, il fondatore del progetto Democray, gli feci una domanda precisa su quello che ritengo essere l’unico vero limite di questo software: l’assenza di un box per vedere i contenuti archiviati anche sul televisore.
