Emilie Autumn’un viyolasıyla eşlik ettiği albümde, bu sayede gotik tınılar da yer almış oldu.Dethklok, Brendon Small ve Tommy Blacha’nın televizyon show’u “Metalocalypse” için yarattıkları bir grup. Tisztán kifejezve: a Dethklok a Metalocalypse nevű rajzfilmsorozat virtuális zenekara. Mivel az egész sorozat tulajdonképpen a zenéről, a metal műfajáról szólt, s inkább kis részben magáról a zenekarról, ezért várható is volt, hogy - a popkultúrában ismeretes Gorillaz nevű mutogatóbanda megoldását utánozva - a Dethklok is meg fog jelenni, mint létező zenekar. Az album túlnyomórészt a sorozatban hallható dalokat tartalmazza, csak újrahangszerelve és sokkal jobb körülmények között felvéve. Az egész zenét két ember szolgáltatja: Brendon Small, aki amúgy a sorozatnak is a kiötlője, és Gene Hoglan. Starring in their own TV show Metalocalypse, Dethklok leaps from the screen to your stereo with the first release from the "band".The songs on the album were all debuted during episodes of Metalocalypse in shortened forms. The only song not premiered on the show was "Hatredcopter" which was released on the Saw III soundtrack in Europe.The band consists of real live people Brendon Small (a stand up comedian and long time Cartoon Network writer) and Gene Hoglan (drummer for Strapping Young Lad).Unlike the Gorillaz, Dethklok is a tongue-in-cheek musical experience. Playing in to every death metal stereotype possible, the "band" has still made themselves beloved to metalheads.
