Devil May Cry 4 Review
2008-02-18 17:54:00
Devil May Cry 4 is a very solid entry into the Devil May Cry universe. It doesn't suck like DMC2 did, though it is significantly easier than DMC1 and DMC3. Dante's styles return and you can change styles at any time during gameplay...which is fantastic. Nero is an ok addition and plays drastically different than Dante, but he plays a little too much of a predominant role. It's not really 50/50 Dante/Nero which is what it should be at the minimum. Great Action games don't come around often and Devil May Cry certainly delivers in the genre.Gameplay: 9/10Pros: Same great DMC gameplay makes a triumphant return (even if its a lot easier). Dante is especially fun to play as with his 4 styles, multiple guns, and weapons. Changing styles at any time is a great addition. Nero's arm is a cool tool and he plays as basically a simplistic, melee heavy Dante.Cons: Too much Nero, not enough Dante. This would be more forgivable if Nero had more than 1 lousy gun and 1 sword (though the ...

Devil May Cry 4 Review - PS3
2008-02-08 01:41:00
You'll probably remember Devil May Cry 3 for the PlayStation 2 as being an unfairly difficult game, yet one that rewarded your patience with a slew of high-quality action. If playing it gave you tears of frustration, you'll be happy to learn that although this sequel is a challenge, it's by no means an extreme one. In fact, you're given an excellent number of gameplay choices that help you tailor the challenge to your preferences. You can initially choose one of two difficulties (and if you want to cry like a little girl, you can unlock several more), and you can even choose whether you want the game to perform some combos for you automatically. No, you aren't apt to find Devil May Cry 4 to be excessively tough on your first play-through, though it is no walk in the park either. However, it is generally excessive--not that that's a bad thing. Stylish action, terrific boss fights, and beautiful, melodramatic cutscenes will inspire you to push forward, and they serve as an appro...
Capcom On Devil May Cry 4 PS3 Install Time: "Go Make A Sandwich"
2008-02-07 02:24:00
Amid concerns of a mandatory 20 minute installation for the PS3 version of Devil May Cry 4, Capcom says chill out... and go make a sandwich."It's true," says Capcom's Chris Kramer. "The first time you drop your DMC4 Blu-Ray disc into your PS3 tray, you're going to be treated to an exciting 22 - 25 minute load process as the disc spins a few gigs of data onto your hard drive."Kramer says gamers will be treated to a "nifty series of screens that completely catch you up on the DMC4 backstory," while the game is loading. If that doesn't work, he offers an alternative."If you don't want to watch the 'Previously, on Devil May Cry...' portion of the install process, go make a sandwich and grab a soda, then come on back," he candidly says. The Capcom community manager reminded critics that PC games require patience during initial installation as well, and that after installation, the PS3 version of DMC 4 loads faster than Xbox 360."Once installed -- once, mind, not every time you play...

PS3F reviews Devil May Cry 4 - SendMeRSS

PS3F reviews Devil May Cry 4Filed under: NewsIt looks like our good friends sworn enemies at PS3 Fanboy managed to snag a copy of Devil May Cry 4 a little early and even had the audacity to post a review of the game. As we are apparently not worthy to receive a copy of our own (please, Capcom!), we figured we'd point out the review for our readers. For the most part, everything in the review should apply to the Xbox 360 version as well. You know, things like good gameplay, great graphics, and wonky camera angles. Those things should pop up on your 360 as well. You should, however, disregard the mishegoss about installing the game onto a hard drive and also the single reference to the O button. Everything else should be copacetic. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the game looks to be pretty damned good.Gallery: Devil May Cry 4 Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments Link - Comments - Richard Mitchell - Tue, 05 Feb 2008 19:00:00 GMT - Feed (2 subs) capcom ...

Devil May Cry 4 Demo Impressions
2008-01-25 02:17:00
I'll start off by letting you know I've not played the Devil May Cry series before. I've seen it, but never played it. I played through both parts of the Devil May Cry 4 demo today and I think I'm missing why so many people lave the DMC series. I'll admit that the graphics are gorgeous, and there are some really cool combos. Yet, I could a few things confusing/annoying. First, why do I have a gun that does hardly any damage? I don't see the point in having a gun when using it is pretty much worthless. Second, why are there cutscenes every minute? I get that the look beautiful, but I don't need them every time I enter a new room. Also, what is with the fixed camera location? It is not really a big deal, but it is the first game I've played in a long time where you can't control the camera or it doesn't follow you around automatically. It was not a bad, but it was different than what I'm use to. Another thing, I don't see why I have to hit the jump button (A) to...

Weekly Break Down :No downloadable content for Devil May Cry 4
2008-01-19 09:45:00
With almost every game out today being able to add DLC(Down Loadable Content) is a thing that we have all growned to love and i belive that we can understand why this is so with today's industry not everything promised you get but with a game likeDMC4 we ask our have they given us everything we have asked for and is DLC really needed in a recent interview with TVG here is what Hiroyuki Kobayashi had to say."With DMC4, we feel that we have created a game that has a huge amount of content right out of the box without the need to download extra content," Kobayashi said about about the issue. What's your stand?

Devil May Cry 4 on sale in early February 2008
2008-01-07 18:14:00
Rats!! I can't believe this!! DMC4 will retail for $79.95 on PC, $99.95 on 360, and $109.95 on PS3. $10 more for the PS3 version!!! Damn!!I was trying to dig up why Sony is charging more...One possibility is that Sony charges a higher licensing cost per unit sold than Microsoft. Another is that Blu-ray discs cost significantly more to manufacture than DVDs. Though as we’ve already established, most PS3 games don’t even need the format’s additional storage space. Devil May Cry 4 updates
2008-01-04 12:23:00
I finally got a chance to look at Devil May Cry 4 at Game Spot and let me tell you, the game is looking awesome! The opening cinematic of Devil May Cry 4 shows Nero--hiding his Devil Bringer arm in a sling--running through the streets whilst battling a group of demons. His destination is a large church where the Order of the Sword is having a meeting-cum-recital, with Nero's beloved Kyrie singing up an operatic storm. But just as Order leader Sanctus takes to the podium, Dante--the hero of the previous three Devil May Cry games--bursts in through a glass ceiling Batman-style and promptly pops a cap in Sanctus' face. This, of course, sends the Order into a frenzy, and it's at this point that you get to take control of Nero--apparently a member of the Order of the Sword himself--as he tries to take Dante down.Devil May Cry looks set to deliver more of the same over-the-top action fans of the series expect. Our early play throughs have all been fairly positive, although we did find o...
News-Capcom Adds Exclusive Features To PS3 Version of Devil May Cry 4
2008-01-01 23:20:00
As everyone knows, Devil May Cry 4 is coming for the PS3 and the X-Box 360. This was due to Capcom’s promise for more multi-platform games for the next-gen consoles. This made a lot of PS3 fan boys angry since the pervious Devil May Cry games were Playstation only titles. However, the PS3 version of Devil May Cry 4 might have a few tricks up its sleeves. According to monstersandcritics.com, the PS3 version of Devil May Cry 4 has more features than the X-Box 360 version of Devil May Cry 4. The features includes an exclusive 5.1 LPCM audio support, PlayStation Network content, and – most interestingly – the ability to install game data directly onto the PlayStation 3 hard drive. This means that Devil May Cry 4 will subsequently remove all loading times associated with the game. Share This

Devil May Cry 4 to include hard drive install, 5.1 LPCM audio, PSN supportFiled under: News You may not like Capcom for porting the former PS3-exclusive Devil May Cry 4 to the Xbox 360. But, can you take comfort in knowing that the PS3 version is still superior than its 360 counterpart? If you watched this episode of The 1UP Show, you would've heard the 1UP editors agree that the PS3 version looks and plays better than the 360 version. In addition, a new issue of Famitsu reveals some features that are sure to make PS3 owners quite happy. An optional hard drive install will supposedly remove all load times from the game. But, be warned -- it's quite a hefty install at nearly 5GB. Not only will load times be shortened on the PS3, but audiophiles will be glad to hear that the PS3 version also includes 5.1 LPCM audio. There's also support for the PSN, although how exactly it will work is still unclear. Regardless, it makes us glad to see the PS3 version of DMC4 get extra functionality...
