A lot of businesses today still uses hundreds for file boxes for all their information, creating more paper waste and information hard to file, organize, and retreive. What exactly are digital documents? Basically a digital document ...

?Monotonous? page turning helps digitize books for Google
2008-04-26 04:33:00 In a dimly lit back room on the second level of the University of Michigan library's book-shelving department, Courtney Mitchel helped a giant desktop machine digest a rare, centuries-old Bible. Mitchel is among hundreds of librarians from Minnesota to England making digital versions of the most fragile of the books to be included in Google Inc.'s Book Search, a portal that will eventually lead users to all the estimated 50 million to 100 million books in the world.

Utilizing Image Processing to Digitize Mechanically Recorded Sound
2008-04-18 17:29:00 Update: I just realized that I didn't credit whatever blog I originally read about this on. Unfortunately, I just dumped my short-term memory cache and did not make a backup of that data. Perhaps it was a news story posted on http://no-datta.blogspot.com/ [I am told by Drexzor that this inference is almost certainly correct]This is an interesting article regarding a recent contract between the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the library of congress to digitize mechanically recorded sound (cylinder recordings etc...) utilizing image processing methods that are also being implemented for the human discovery of the Higgs-Boson Particle. (Honesty, you humans still utilize "particles" in your physics? Wow. You should be glad that with our invasion we will also share some of our scientific knowledge with you organ-sacks.)http://www.primidi-.com/2004/04/19.html#a812

Why The Digitized "The Last Supper" by Van Gogh Advertising is Sacrilege
2007-10-30 03:29:00 First take a look at the post below and at the digitized painting site (blow up the mysterious knife holding hand indicated above). http://www.haltadefinizione.com-/en/ Then consider this:1. Only 300,000 people can view the painting in Milan to protect it from further decay.2. On the internet millions can now view the painting in much greater detail than in person while soothing music plays. It's a true multimedia experience. And...a brand new way to view art.3. The internet version of "The Last Supper" is interactive...it's fun to enlarge specific areas of the painting (such Christ's head) or pan from side to side.4. The success of this should result in more large scale digitized paintings on the net ("The Mona Lisa", Monet's various "Water Lilies," Seurat's grand canvas "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" and so on....).5. So how do you use this in advertising?6. Well..not the way it's currently done in the remarkably unholy "The Last Supper"7. Google AdWords...
Digitizers
2007-10-25 10:07:00 I’ve been planning on upgrading the maps on our range of listings sites but hunting around the various places providing maps for websites quickly made me realise that it would cost far, far too much to buy the maps that I’d need. In that market, $100 per map is a typical price and I need something ...
What won't they digitize?
2007-10-18 09:30:00 You know I'm a child of the digital age and i'm all for sticking LCD's and electronics in stuff but some things I just have to snicker at when I see them, I mean ok ya i've seen the electronic toilets and the electronic refrigerators. That all in some odd way was expected sooner or later I suppose. But this is nuts, they've started putting electronics on the squeeze excercise handles. You know those little U shaped things that used to be a bent wire spring with some plastic for a grip. Well not anymore apparently it's the latest odd item to get integrated with an LCD and this time it even gets a speaker. Yes they've taken the old faithful 2$ hand grip squeeze excerciser and actually turned it into the Talking Digital Hand-Grip Excerciser. Thats the official title and pretty much sums it up. This little doggy will run you $12.00 and it will even come with thte Konami pushup counter you know so you can get your entire digital workout on. Now why we'd need a little digital gr...
