Beltran was deprived of an apparent fifth-inning homer when the original call was overruled, seemingly in error. The outfield wall is topped by a yellow line and a railing. The line is in play, but hitting the rail is supposed to be a home run. The ball appeared to hit the railing and bounce straight up. "Even tennis they have the challenge thing," said Beltran, who instead was credited with his franchise-record-tying third double of the game. Beltran suggests giving each team one challenge per game. GMs voted, 25-5, at their November meetings to recommend exploring the instant-replay topic with respect to home run calls

The artist has contacted us and provided us with another painting inspired by Emily Brontë's masterpiece and the wonders of quantum mechanics. In his own words:It is another of my paintings of Cathy and Heathcliff, but perhaps more related to the quantum. It has the lyrics from Kate Bush's song, and in the background is the subtle pattern caused by particles/waves in the two-slit experiment exposing duality of particles and waves, and which is associated with the idea of "entanglement". Dinger the Cat — who’s named after a syringe — has a little mini booze-bottle pipe that he loves to smoke rock out of. Dinger even gets withdrawls. The Sun is there: “(Pete) even made a special mini-crack pipe out of a bottle so it can get the maximum hit. But the kitten is starting to get really bad withdrawal symptoms. It has lost some of its balance and takes huge risks jumping over things that are too high. It thinks it can fly.” I’m having a hard time downing my wine right now and I’ll leave it at that. Anyways….. Doherty, who is in rehab for the gizillionth time for ketamine, crack, heroin, booze, pot, cocaine, ecstasy, Vicodin, Valium and Oxycontin, sent a little picture of Dinger to Kate in hopes of wooing her back.
