Directing Your Thoughts

You have the option of observing things as they are, or of imagining them as you want them to be - and whichever option you choose, your thoughts produce a vibration within you that equals your point of attraction, and then circumstances and events line up to match the vibrations that you have offered. - ...

Matthew Vaughn No Longer Directing Thor
2008-05-08 22:28:00
What is with Matthew Vaughn signing up to direct Marvel movies and then dropping out (or being dropped). As some of you remember, Matthew Vaughn (who did an amazing job directing ?Stardust?, probably the single most over looked movie from last year) was originally supposed to direct the last X-Men film but then he backed out at the last minute to then be replaced by Brett Ratner. It was with great joy that we then heard Vaughn was brought on to direct the new Marvel film ?Thor?. This was great news for the god of thunder. However, it appears that yet again, Matthew Vaughn is off a marvel film he was supposed to do. The good folks over at IGN give us this: ?Matthew Vaughn no longer is attached to direct the project because his holding deal expired December.? Marvel Studios is currently waiting for I Am Legend screenwriter Mark Protosevich to turn in a script polish. ?It?s very much a Marvel superhero story but against the backdrop of nothing you?ve seen before,? Marvel Studios pres...

Jeremie Saindon: Directing the Future
2008-04-18 01:35:00
According to Jeremie Saindon, the only difference between him and Musiqueplus -- Quebec's version of MTV -- is "a little hustle work and a few million dollars." By the looks of it, he may be right; after shooting interviews with the likes ofJutin Timberlake, Coldplay and Pearl Jam, he's moved onto directing videos for some of Canada's hottest musical acts like We Are Wolves and Omnikrom.

A.R.Murugadas is directing the Hindi version of Gajini with Amir Khan
2008-03-28 19:15:00
After becoming super hits in Tamil and Telugu, ‘Gajani’ soon will be trying its luck in Bollywood too. Down south some scenes for the B-town version are being completed at Ramoji Film City.If it was the dubbed version of the original Tamil film directed by A.R.Murugadas starring Suriya that became a super hit in Tollywood, in its B-Town version Amir Khan is the main man.Although Amir Khan nowadays is seen around with a similar hairstyle that Suriya had in the Tamil Version, it’s been said that some changes have been made in the story of the film to suit the tastes of the Hindi viewers.A.R.Murugadas is directing the Hindi version too and Asin as the heroine also tries to get a good Bollywood opening.Perfectionist Amir Khan does not take up a project without thinking. But there have been instances of widely anticipated movies rejected by the audience too.Let’s see after conquering Tamil and Telugu hearts, will ‘Gajini’ be able to hit its target in Bollywood.

Kevin Lima Directing Spooks Apprentice

Kevin Lima Directing Spooks ApprenticeEnchanted director taking on kids' bookSource: Variety It was tentatively planned as a Tim Burton project before the writers' strike, but Variety is now announcing that Kevin Lima has been given the job of bringing children's book The Spook's Apprentice to the screen. The Enchanted director visited London last week to work on the adaptation of the first of Joseph Delaney's books about a teenage boy who is schooled in wizardry by a strange old man, known as the Spook.Lima is hot property now, following the success of Enchanted (which I really should have given four stars on its cinema release, not three) and we really like his sensibility. His vision will probably be very different to Burton's, but we can see him doing a very good job on this.Source: EmpireOnline

James Mangold Directing CyclopsWalk The Line director adapting comicSource: Variety Sorry, this has absolutely nothing to do with the X-Men. James Mangold is directing an adaption of the comic book Cyclops, but Scott Summers does not figure. This Cyclops is actually based on Alexis Nolent's graphic novel about a group of mercenary soldiers who fight equipped with cyclops helmets that broadcast their battles live to both their commanders and people's living rooms. One of these soldiers slowly begins to realise that their fight is not for justice, but for commerce and viewing figures."It is an electrifying package you find in the best sci-fi: great action sequences combined with themes that are eminently foreseeable," Mangold told Variety.Sounds like strong, almost Running Man like premise to us. We consider that a good thing. Scott Summers was always a bit of a drip anyway.Source: EmpireOnline

Exclusive: Considine?s Directing A MovieAnd teaming up with Shane Meadows again Winning the Bafta for his debut short film, Dog Altogether, has clearly given Burton-On-Trent?s favourite son Paddy Considine a taste for life behind the camera.Talking exclusively to us at the Sony Ericsson Empire Awards, he declared his intentions to helm his first feature, a hard-hitting drama going by the name of Tyrannosaur.?I?m hoping to direct it later in the year,? he said. ?I?ve got Olivia Coleman (Sophie from Peep Show) in the lead role, as we get further into the production we?ll start casting the other roles."But what?s it all about Paddy? ?Well, it?s about a woman leaving an abusive relationship. But it?s not your run-of-the-mill, kitchen-sink drama, there are bits and pieces in there that hopefully make it a little bit different. Hopefully, we start shooting it at the end of the year.?In the meantime, Paddy?s all set to team up with old mucker Shane...

James McTeigue Directing Ninja Assassin with Wachowski's Next - SendMeRSS

James McTeigue Directing Ninja Assassin with Wachowski's Next Australian filmmaker James McTeigue (picture above, left) already has his next film lined up. You may remember a little movie that McTeigue and Larry and Andy Wachowski did together back in 2006 named V for Vendetta? The Wachowski Brothers and McTeigue are teaming up again for a movie named Ninja Assassin, but unfortunately there are no plot details yet (damn!). However, South Korean pop star Rain has been cast in a leading role in the film, which already starts shooting in March! Rain, who's real name is Jung Ji-hoon, has a supporting role in the Wachowksi's upcoming Speed Racer flick and is also the lead in Park Chan-wook's I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK. Ninja Assassin will be shooting under the direction of McTeigue in Berlin from March to July. It sounds like they're probably shooting in the same studios that Speed Racer shot in, given the Wachowski's filmed that movie in Berlin as well and wrapped quite recentl...

Martin Scorsese Directing a Bob Marley Documentary Next Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese is incredibly busy these days, finishing a Rolling Stones documentary titled Shine a Light due out in a few months and starting pre-production work on a thriller titled Shutter Island. Announced today is the addition of another documentary in Scorsese's line-up, this one about legendary reggae musician Bob Marley. The currently untitled film has been authorized by Marley's family and is aiming for release on February 6th, 2010, the same day as Marley's would be 65th birthday. I only need one word to describe this: awesome! Bob Marley's oldest living son, Ziggy Marley, is a well-known reggae musician as well. Ziggy enthusiastically commented on the announcement, saying, "I am thrilled that the Marley family will finally have the opportunity to document our father's legacy and are truly honored to have Mr. Scorsese guide the journey." Rumor: Rob Zombie Directing the Conan Reboot?! - SendMeRSS
2008-02-09 07:36:00
Rumor: Rob Zombie Directing the Conan Reboot?! Holy crap, is this real?! We've talked about the Conan the Barbarian reboot previously, in an article from early January that rumored that Hitman director Xavier Gens could end up as director. Now the rumors have changed to instead single out, with more confidence, Rob Zombie as the director. Bloody-Disgusting.com has 100% confirmation that Zombie has been meeting with Lionsgate to talk about directing Conan. Is this good or bad or what? I'm still too shocked to sort through this and figure out of it's actually a good thing or not. As mentioned originally back in January, this Conan movie came out of nowhere. Nu Image was already trying to sell the film, with a poster and all, before anyone even knew about it or before it had a director or cast attached. The rumor that Hitman director Xavier Gens was directing was so solid, that even IMDb changed their listing to show Gens as director. Now it looks like that might not be the case. Or...

Fan Shrouds: Directing Air through the Radiator
2008-02-08 05:31:00
Driving a car as stylish and powerful as a Ford Mustang gives one a sense of pride on the road. As such, this Ford model has attracted a huge following. Ford Mustang?s engine, no matter how hardworking it is, can still succumb to overheating. Overheating is one of the engine woes that greatly affect the operation of a vehicle. This problem is caused by the excessive heat generated by the engine?s fuel burning process. If cool air cannot flow freely into the engine, it might stop working. To lower the engine?s temperature, all vehicles are equipped with cooling systems. The cooling system of Ford vehicles like the Ford Mustang is composed of a number of parts that work together to cool the engine. The radiator cannot cool the engine alone so it needs the help of other parts like the fan shroud. A key component in the cooling system of a Mustang car is the Ford Mustang fan shroud, the so-called finger guard that prevents the recirculation of hot air around the cooling fan. Also called...

Sly Stallone Hasn't Retired Yet - Directing 2 More Action Movies! Despite that Sylvester Stallone publicly said that Rambo has finished and he isn't making another one, it doesn't mean that he's fully retired yet! Hollywood Reporter brings news that Stallone has signed a deal with his producing partners at Nu Image/Millennium Films to direct and star in not one, but two more action films! Hot damn I can't wait! Stallone explains: "The past year and a half of working with Avi, his partners Danny and Trevor and his film family has been nothing but a high point for me and my career and an extremely rewarding experience." Who would've guessed that Sly Stallone would've turned into a successful filmmaker on top of being a movie star. He directed Rocky Balboa in 2006, which turned out to be a huge success, and just put out Rambo a few weeks back, which has also been a box office success so far. Both films were the finale in their respective franchises, but that doesn't mean Stallo...

Sam Mendes directing a Comedy - SendMeRSS
2008-01-25 15:19:00
Sam Mendes directing a Comedy Written by Lucas C HaberstichWhile I personally found much of American Beauty amusing, Variety reports that director Sam Mendes' next project will be an out-and-out comedy for Focus Features.  Based on an original screenplay by the husband-and-wife/novelists-and--editors pair David Eggers and Vendela Vida, the low-budget comedy "follows a young couple's journey around the U.S. as they search for somewhere to put down roots and raise the baby they are expecting".No casting has been announced and the project is currently untitled, the previous title of 'This Must Be The Place' having been seemingly abandoned.  I don't see anything wrong with that title, but if Focus is listening, I suggest 'Looking For Babytown', 'Birthing Place', or 'American Booties'.  My fee is minimal.  Also 'American Bootiez' for whoever it is that finds phonic letter replacement appealing. ...

Mahesh Bhatt directing a Pakistani film based on Benazir Bhutto
2008-01-07 18:52:00
Media has been abuzz lately with the news of Mahesh Bhatt directing a Pakistani film based on Benazir Bhutto. However, Mahesh Bhatt denies his plans to direct the film saying that he is through with direction now and has hung his boots after his last project ?Zakhm’.?I was approached by a lady from Pakistan who wants us (Vishesh Films) to collaborate with them. In principal we’re on.? However, Mahesh thinks it’s too early to get into the project. ?The news of the project came from Pakistan. We didn’t announce it. We’ve to get a go-ahead from Benazir’s family and her party. The blood is still fresh on the streets. It isn’t right to talk about a movie on the slain leader’s life at this stage.?The offer has apparently come from Pakistani producer Anila Khan after the assassination of Bhutto in Rawalpindi a few days back. Rumor: Xavier Gens Directing Conan? - SendMeRSS
2008-01-03 22:28:00
Rumor: Xavier Gens Directing Conan? The topic of Hitman is a sore subject for quite a few people. A couple of us, myself included, loved the movie, while plenty of others thought it was pure crap. The reason why I mention it is because the director, Xavier Gens, is rumored to be directing Conan next. Yep, Conan the Barbarian is back, but this time Arnold Schwarzenegger will NOT be swinging the sword. Although an actor hasn't officially been announced, even though Gerard Butler was rumored to be in the runnings, French director Xavier Gens tells Le Film Francais that he may be directing. This movie has really confused me. We're all well aware of the He-Man and Thundercats movies, but Conan just came out of left field. The first time I had ever heard of it was when a poster for the film appeared at the American Film Market. Since then I've heard nothing until now. As much as I enjoyed Hitman and Xavier Gens' work, I really cannot see him directing Conan. It's just not his style a...

Rumor: Bryan Singer Won't Be Directing Superman: Man of Steel? - SendMeRSS
2008-01-03 22:28:00
Rumor: Bryan Singer Won't Be Directing Superman: Man of Steel? Variety blogger Anne Thompson wrote a piece last week titled Dark Knight's Nolan and DC Comics Pics (thanks for the link, too, Anne!) that most of us missed in the Holiday haze. Her last paragraph is the most discomforting, but from what I can tell, it may be more speculation than truth. It reads, "speaking of DC Comics pics, it is highly unlikely that Bryan Singer will return to shoot the next Superman movie." Wait, what?! This would be disastrous if it were the case! Not everyone liked Superman Returns, but if they (or specifically, if Bryan) pulls this again, then it's going to be another X-Men 3! And everyone know how that turned out. Here is the full final paragraph from Anne's article. "Speaking of DC Comics pics, it is highly unlikely that Bryan Singer will return to shoot the next Superman movie. (The director is finishing up Tom Cruise's Nazi film Valkyrie, and prepping The Mayor of Castro Street). The next...
