2009-06-13 06:15:00 I know that I am a little late to the party, however you know me, I like to make a grand entrance, anyway, in the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the first 13 races from the Daytona 500 to the Dover 400 are broadcasted on FOX. Over that time, while the racing has been good to watch with the exceptions of a few races that just didn’t go so well, the TV ratings have seen a double-digit drop in most cases.I have to say, in watching all 13 races which included a rain-shortened Daytona 500 won by Matt Kenseth, the Monday rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600 won by David Reutimann to the Southern 500, Phoenix cup race, both won by Mark Martin, and the Aaron’s 499 that included two Big One’s, Carl Edwards fling through the air into the outside catch fence and a last lap, tri-oval pass for the lead with Brad Keselowski capturing his very first Cup Series victory, the television broadcasts have been pretty good, of course some better than others.In watching all of those races, I have to say tha...

Mario Cibelli, founder and managing partner of Marathon Partners, a New York-based investment group, sent a letter to the board of directors of Dover Motorsports Inc. on Thursday urging the company to divest itself of its racing properties. Kurt Busch, Dodge's only driver in The Chase, was part of that on-trace mishap and now ranks 11th in the standings, 157 points out of the lead. Carl Edwards won the race and created a logjam at the top ? at least for now because Edward's car did not pass post-race inspection. Fines possible and point deductions will be handed down later this week. Roolkie Juan Pablo Montoya finished ahead of all the other Dodge drivers with a 10th-place run in his No. 42 Texaco Dodge at the track known as the Monster Mile. 2007-09-24 20:48:00 With two rounds in the Chase for the Nextel Cup Championship complete, I would have thought by this point (after two races…) the chase picture would have looked more spread out considering what happened last season at first race with the lap 3 wreck and most contenders falling or crashing out early, but that wasn’t the case at all and no one expected to see Clint Bowyer pickup his first career victory and in such dominating fashion. 2007-09-24 18:33:00 Ryan Newman and his #12 Alltel Dodge team finished a dissappointing 29th in the Dodge Dealers 400 at Dover. Carl Edwards was the winner with a very dominating car.The good news for Ryan Newman fans is that he had a great run at Dover. He was poised to finish in the top 5 until he got wrapped up in an accident with 18 laps to go involving his teamate Kurt Busch.Newman has fallen even farther behind Dale Earnhard JR for 13th position. Newman is -170 points behind JR.This was Newman's 5th DNF of the season. This one can not be blamed on engine failure or anything else except bad luck and being in the wrong place at the wrong time.Many of the chase contenders had troubles in todays race including - Kurt Busch - Finished 28th, Matt Kensith - Finished 35th.
