In the pre-season Dan Bertram, selected in the second round, 54th overall in the 2005 entry draft by the Chicago Blackhawks suffered an injury in a game against the Peoria Rivermen. At the start of the season he was assigned to the ECHL Toledo Walleyes, the Blackhawks' and IceHogs AA affiliate. Fans soon noticed that he was missing from the Walleye's roster. The AHL transactions had listed him as being added back onto the IceHogs roster on October 12th. I talked a couple posts back about a few guys who very well could end up with the Giants at pick number 6, so in this post we were going to look beyond round one of the draft look at some guys outside of the consensus top-30.OF's Kent Matthes and Marc Krauss: These two are a couple of the biggest college power hitters in the draft and both are coming off of big seasons. Matthes, from Alabama, hit 28 bombs in 2009, to go along with 81 RBI and a .365 average in just 197 at-bats. He was widely thought to be the SEC's most dangerous hitter in '09. I know it's only college, but his HR ratio translates out to nearly a home run every 6 at-bats, which is ridiculously good no matter what level your at. 2009-04-27 15:07:00 I received a text on Saturday evening from my SIL (that would be sister-in-law) notifying me that the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Ziggy. Obviously, I didn?t believe her since Ziggy is still a kitten, but more importantly, didn?t play football in college or attend any of the pre-draft workouts (at least that I know of). However, I have complete faith in Kevin Colbert, the Steelers? director of football operations, and Coach Mike Tomlin, so I trust their judgment. At 8 months, Ziggy is already 10 pounds and could continue to grow, which would work perfectly for a defensive lineman. Although I have never timed Ziggy in the 40-yard dash, I can attest that he is as quick as a cat. In addition, Ziggy has at least a 3-foot vertical leap that he uses to jump from the floor to the kitchen counter. 2009-04-20 02:06:00 Giants try to pick up a free agent receiver and other pre draft notes It seems that the reports hold some truth at least: The Giants want to swing a deal with the Browns to get Braylon Edwards, who is another talented but "difficult" to work with receiver. Edwards may have some problems working with new Browns and Ex Jets Head Coach Eric Mangini, which seems to be the main issue right now. The Browns want a #2 and a #5 pick in this draft, plus receiver Steve Smith. The Giants countered with the two picks plus receiver Dominik Hixon. What some people are missing is that Edwards isn't Burress. He's two+ inches shorter and 15 pounds lighter. Can he play the same "Jump Ball in the End Zone" game? Sure he can. But if Hixon also goes in the deal the Giants would still need to get another "taller" wide out in the Draft or Via Free Agency to help stretch the defensive backs.I'll cast my vote for Brian Robiskie early, or Ramses Barden late. Basically in Google Chrome (version 2.0.160.0) if you open up a previous post within Blogger in Draft (to edit), it "reinterprets" all of your previous text.Example: Here is a post from one of my demo blogs of what your article should look like when logging into Blogger.com (in gChrome) when trying to edit a post.And here is what it looks like in gChrome through draft.blogger.com:I've tested other browsers (Firefox and Opera) and none of them are showing the same error.Hopefully Google can take a look at this and fix it before they release 2.0 to the masses.
