In contrast to the homes that we visited in SacBe, most of the "eco friendly" homes being built around the globe are quite modern. While the homes in many of the pictures I have seen successfully bring the outdoors inside, they are way too modern and angular for our taste. While we love all the glass and the views out to the wilderness, in this area, prone to hurricanes, as a primary building material it just doesn't work. We also want a home that looks like it "belongs" in this area of the world. 2008-04-11 01:46:00 No idea just how close it will be to the real deal, but Club Lexus member GFerg has posted up a drawing of what the dedicated hybrid from Lexus might look like, taken from the Japanese magazine Mag-X: All in all, it doesn’t look all that bad, but I’m still scratching my head at how necessary this car really is. Bringing a rebadged Prius into the Lexus lineup is ill-fitting, to say the least, and I hope Lexus avoids it at all costs. If they’re dead set on releasing a small hybrid, in my mind it makes more sense to offer it as an variant of the “no-longer-just-a-rumor&#-8221; BMW 1-series competitor. Speaking of which, there was another image in Mag-X that may very well be a rendering of that very vehicle: Far too bubbly, especially in the hood (though it might just be the scan), but it’s hard to ignore the charm of this smaller version of the IS. His distinctive, and highly personal, visual language, built around "logofying ideas," reduce graphical narratives to the point where meaning is largely derived from the viewer's own imagination. Opening this Wednesday at the Redcat Gallery in downtown Los Angeles, an exhibition features his work alongside the veteran visual artist Ed Fella. Fella's work, while stylistically different, evolved out of a similar need for self-expression. After practicing as a skilled draftsman and commercial artist in Detroit for 30 years, he abandoned the field to take up independent projects.
