His latest endeavor, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, a film adaptation of the classic action-RPG series, has bombed both critically and commercially. According to Gamespot, the film opened this week to take in only $3.3 million in US theaters, averaging approximately $2000 across 1600 screens. It wasn’t enough to enter the film in the top 10 even, making it clear that Boll’s latest impassioned plea to avoid First Sunday, which stars Ice Cube. The chart was topped by Morgan Freeman-Jack Nicholson comedy The Bucket List. What makes this worse for Boll is that the film cost $60 million to make and is unlikely to break even due to its extremely weak opening, unlike his other projects which he insists made a profit in international sales and video. I opened up my pouch, placed my dice inside, and, basking in the movie's goodness, forgot all about gaming accuracy** (It was futile, even with the mass effect rules, to keep up with the intense action anyways.). Such is the power of NOK. The adventure begins when animal-warrior Krug (100HP), led by the evil Gallian (Summoner-Fighter Grand High Sorcerer STR: 14 Dex: 13, INT: 24) attack Farmer (Berzerker-Knight STR:18, DEX: 24, INT: 13, Alacrity, Whirling Strike, Boomerang), a content, responsible, errr, farmer raised, in true Hillariesque fashion, by the village. 2008-01-11 00:00:00 In The Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale has a surprisingly quiet movie website...no music! What's going on here? Well, I'll tell you what's going on - not a lot! The website looks like it started out with good intentions - there's a nice graphic of the movie, links to learn about the story (a farmer's family is destroyed by a band of Krug of an evil sorcerer..he joins the royal army for battle), the crew and the cast (Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, Leelee Sobieski, and Ron Perlman), and to watch the trailer (good thing because I havent seen to much publicity for this one!). But that's where "The Name of the King" website stops. There aren't any downloads of any kind - no aim icons, or wallpapers or screensavers - which is strange, since there is a link inviting fans to join them on myspace! Esta cuenta con protagonicos de Jason Statham, Lelee Sobiesky y Burt Reynolds, y la pregunta es la obligada ¿Qué diablos mueve a ciertos artistas a participar en las producciones de este director?
