By the way, Joe dubbed the backup drive "Hogwarts", which he thinks is hilarious. Anyway, no sooner had I sat down in the new office, Joe's in here saving old jobs to the archive and checking every ten minutes to see if it's finished. I told him I could check for him, so he doesn't need to come down here all the time. The estimated time to finish downloading was 40 minutes, so coming in to see if it's done every ten minutes just seems pointless. 2008-08-26 18:07:00 Monday between 12 and 1 my ears were burnin'.....why you ask? well, because dr. doom was presenting my case during the monday conference because i had responded extremely well to the sutent....AGAIN! yippie! i had my scan on the same day as my check up appt. so the radiologist hadn't had a chance to go over them yet, but dr. doom looked at them with all of us and gave us his take on them. below is the play by play....first, there was some fluid in the bottom of my left lung that had been there for some time, but he wasn't too worried about it...this time on the scan...it didn't show up at all...completely gone.second, i had up to 50% reduction in cancerous tissue around several of my lymph nodes...GRRRREAAT!!third, there were 3 lesions on my liver on the previous scan that were now gone...however, there was a new spot that dr. doom wasn't sure about and needed to consult with the radiologist about.fourth, and yes, i saved the best for last...the cancerous tissue in and around m...

2008-05-19 05:27:00 We had a float from the telemetry floor today that had never been in the ER so she got buddied up with me.That being said, we had the worst day I think I have ever had in the ER - and I've had a lot of them.At 5 pm there were 14 hallway patients, 42 people waiting to be seen in fast track and the main ER and 4 ambulances waiting to unload patients. The ER nurses had been working like dogs all day but not making any headway against the never ending tide of sick and injured. No one had a break, a lunch or even a pee.I could go on and on about how awful it was but you can use your imagination. It was about that time that the float nurse said "I get it now." Having seen it with her own eyes she finally understood why we were so pushy about getting the patients to the floor.Music to my ears.
