Already announced headliners are Jack Johnson (Friday) and Roger Waters (Sunday).Ian McCulloch of Echo & the Bunnymen will be publishing his memoirs in the Summer of 2009. Book publisher Transworld has purchased the rights.California Institute for the Arts will name their music school after Herb Alpert after the musician and record company exec donated $15 million. The funds will go towards three faculty positions, scholarships and other programs such as a student run record label.Alpert praised the school by saying, "Here was this place to take great leaps, to prepare artists to reach beyond what they know." 2007-09-18 23:14:00 I've got my iTunes on random and it has gone through a bit of an "alternative" stretch with songs by INXS, The Pixies, and The Smithereens in the last little bit. Anyway, on comes The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen and I made up my mind it is the best Echo song of all time. Bring on the Dancing Horses kicks ass, Do it Clean live is great, but just the intro to Killing Moon is too perfect in itself and the rest of the song just carries on from there. It was used in Donnie Darko (great soundtrack btw) and is one of the best overall songs from the 80s.

2006-08-17 19:03:06 ECHO and the Bunnymen singer Ian McCulloch appeared in court yesterday accused of assaulting two fans at a performance in Glasgow.McCulloch is charged with attacking Gary Duncan and Juliet Sebley following a concert at Barrowlands last October. The 46-year-old singer, of Concert Street, Liverpool, is alleged to have kicked a toilet door open. The door struck Miss Sebley on the head.McCulloch is also said to have repeatedly pushed Mr Duncan that evening.The musician faces a third charge of a breach of the peace by shouting, swearing and uttering threats at the pair.McCulloch denied all the charges at Glasgow District Court yesterday.
