Hopkins' signing also raised the question of whether the team would go with one big name rider and a support rider, or whether they would try to attract a second big name. Last year, financial constraints prevailed, enforced by Hopkins' multi-million dollar contract, and Michael Bartholemy signed Ant West to run alongside Hopper. My whole look at this was moving the All-Star race to a racetrack that either doesn’t already have a Cup Series date or only has one Cup Series date. At Least to me, the All-Star is a lot like a Cup date, it’s huge, it for the most part draws in record number of fans and even though I still believe that the All-Star race should be on a short-track like Iowa Speedway (but not that far away), I understand why the all-star race is so successful in Charlotte, it’s home. Edwards becomes the third former candidate to endorse Obama, joining New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd. The move, however, comes more than a week after his home state of North Carolina held its primary and months after he abandoned his campaign following a disappointing showing in native South Carolina in January.With just five contests remaining, the endorsement doesn't significantly change the tight primary race between Obama and Hillary Clinton.
