High Gas Prices Getting Crazy How High Could They Get, Now $4.00 Gas Will
2008-05-16 16:36:00
High gas prices this is getting crazy what is going on with all these high gas prices in last few years in the United States. Are we being scammed by these prices or is shortage of gas or oil companies are defrauding us as some have mentioned in the news. In my opinion I think the oil companies are defrauding us. Plus politicians could do more but they are probably being paid by the oil companies to be quiet. Then that makes them not try to make the prices lower. None of the politicians thinks this is an emergency but it is. How high will these prices get before it changes in a bad way. How far or how high will these prices go before something is done. How far is this thing going to go before the American people complain about this. $4.00 gas will it become $5.00, $20.00, $100.00 or even more per gallon. Who knows when the prices becomes so expensive that no can afford it. It is scary times many work places are slowing down with no jobs. People will have less money to spend. If thi...

Commentary: No racism in the presidential election?
2008-05-14 22:10:00
Oh absolutely there's racism in this election. I can prove it: Some want to know why it isn't racist when 70 percent of African-Americans vote for Obama but it is when 70 percent of whites vote against him. The answer has to do with history. Over the decades, black Americans have had plenty of opportunities to vote for white people for president. And they have done so. But this is the first time that white Americans have a chance to vote for an African-American with a shot at the presidency. And what are they doing?Wrong. When you accept that many black folks are voting for Obama because of the color of his skin, then try to twist that into making it sound ok, and when white folks do it, it's wrong, you've made a racist statement yourself. You're being hypocritical in thinking that it's ok for blacks to vote along race lines but it's not for whites. Many are responding quite well. Obama won the votes of many, to borrow a phrase, "hardworking white Americans," in Wisconsin, M...
Presidential Election Merchandise
2008-05-14 21:46:00
This election year is the one of the most interesting elections for years to come, three strong individuals Hillary, Obama and McCain. All using the internet to raise money. I think Obama won in the internet money race. This election is about first woman presidential candidate-Hillary, first African-American legitimate presidential candidate-Obama and one war hero presidential candidate-McCain with lefty attitude. Election merchandise should be a collectors delight with all the firsts in the presidential elections. If you want some of the latest in presidential election merchandise see the folks at 2008RaceGear.com, they have all the latest Presidential merchandise.  This includes shirts, hats, buttons, bumper stickers, mugs and magnets of all the presidential candidates. The one item I found the most interesting is the shot glass with a picture of Obama.I guess I better get what I think will the most collectible for the years to come.Cheers
Obama Looks to Win Oregon
2008-05-14 18:22:00
With West Virginia behind him, Barack Obama is looking towards the last few primaries and the general election in November.  It is worthy of note that he is less concerned with his erstwhile Democratic opponents than he is with John McCain.  Really, John McCain is the one to beat now that he has ...
GOP 0-3: Loses Another House Seat in Special Election
2008-05-14 16:12:00
We didn’t even get to November yet, and the GOP has seen it’s House caucus fall by 3. Yesterday in a special election in Mississippi, another loss was suffered in a supposedly safe Republican District and switched over to the Dems: Democrats picked up a northern Mississippi House seat in one of the most conservative-minded districts ...
Travis Childers - Democrat - Wins Special Election in Republican Mississipp
2008-05-14 04:42:00
The most significant election result tonight was not Hillary Clinton's big win over Barack Obama in West Virginia, but Democrat Travis Childers' win over Republican Greg Davis in the 1st Congressional district in northern Mississippi. Why is Childers' victory so important? In addition to having a name that seems to come right out of some great work of Southern fiction or an early rock 'n' roller, Childers was stridently opposed by Republicans who sought to link him to Barack Obama. The technique not only failed, but showed the kind of coattails Obama will have in the general election this Fall. Americans are tired of the Republicans, plain and simple. In Mississippi, the failure of the Bush administration in Hurricane Katrina's aftermath is all too close at hand. In Mississippi and everywhere around the country, Americans are fed up with high gas prices, the flagging economy, and the war in Iraq.Hillary Clinton's victory speech in West Virginia tonight - one of her best ...

The Myth of Voter Fraud
2008-05-13 16:20:00
New York Times Editorial There is no evidence that voting by noncitizens is a significant problem. Illegal immigrants do their best to remain in the shadows, to avoid attracting government attention and risking deportation. It is hard to imagine that many would walk into a polling place, in the presence of challengers and police, and try to cast a ballot. There is, however, ample evidence that a requirement of proof of citizenship will keep many eligible voters from voting. Many people do not have birth certificates or other acceptable proof of citizenship, and for some people, that proof is not available. One Missouri voter, Lillie Lewis, said at a news conference last week that officials in Mississippi, where she was born, told her they had no record of her birth. Proof of citizenship is just one of an array of new barriers to voting that have been springing up across the country. Indiana adopted a tough new photo ID voting requirement, over objections from Democrats that it wo...

Labour MPs are thrown to the lions by Harman.
2008-05-13 11:55:00
Harriet Harman has ordered Labour MPs and Ministers to help out in the Crewe and Nantwich by-election. I bet they are chuffed about that. "What, me? Face the voters? Are you mad? they'll tear me apart. "Anyway, why do I have to go if Gordon is bottling out?"If I were a Labour MP, I'd be avoiding the public like the plague. And if I was a journalist, I'd be following them with great interest.Sent from my BlackBerry wireless device

Hillary Clinton Brags About How She?s the Candidate for ?White Americans? ?

Karnataka Exit Poll After first phase of election
2008-05-12 18:24:00
In first phase, election took place for 89 seats including many seats in strong hold of JD(S); therefore, this phase was very important for the JD(S). After the 10th May elections, many TV channels and news paper presented their revised exit polls. Earlier, most of the pre-poll exit polls were favouring Congress lead government in Karnataka, however, after first poll analysts and experts are predicting good performance from BJP, while congress and JD(S) looks losing their hold. Most of the exit polls have expected 12-17 seats increase for BJP in this phase of election, while number of congress seats can decrease by 8-12 and number of JD(S) seats by 3-5. Now from these 89 seats, BJP is expected to win 29-34, Congress 21-25 and JD(S) 28-32. Overall, there are now expectations that BJP can also improve its performance in other two phases also by 15-25 seats. Therefore, BJP can expect around 27-42 seats over last assembly total of 79. If these predictions become right then BJP can get 10...

Market historian votes in on the Presidential election cycle
2008-05-09 07:00:00
"The Presidential Election cycle is one Wall Street truism that has historically proven to have merit for investors," explains advisor and market historian Jim Stack (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/ccount/click.php?id=1993).In- his InvesTech Market Analyst (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/ccount/click.php?id=1993) the advisor reviews the basics of this cycle, its historical reasoning, and what the could portend for the market's action between now and Election Day."Since we are in the midst of an election year, this cycle warrants review. During the 4-year Presidential Election cycle there is a characteristic variation in annual stock market returns that is evident in historical data and actually makes sense when one thinks about it. "Basically, it boils down to just 'good politics.' Politicians worth their salt understand the goal: get anybad economic news over early during your term and have the economy back on track and humming along by Election Day. "Consequently, the...

Nation Witnesses Lake Co. Style Election
2008-05-08 14:16:00
Doesn’t everyone living in Lake County feel proud that the whole country witnessed a Lake County, Indiana style election night on CNN and other national media outlets? After all, we voted year after year to keep the folks in place who are running our county government and they displayed their mad political and media skills not just for us, but for everyone watching and waiting for the vote results in Indiana. It all came down to absentee ballots and decisions to not release preliminary totals to the media. Absentee ballot counts in Lake County always raise suspicions given past election problems. The Northwest Indiana Times writes about the delays in releasing Lake County, Indiana’s vote totals: The nation watched Tuesday night as Lake County election officials held the fate of the Democratic presidential primary in their hands — and held it, and held it and held it. The delay provoked a broadside of allegations from national, state and local pundits of election t...
